Chapter 1 : The Royal Academy

Alex woke up early that day, excited to attend the Royal Academy.

Even the maid, Danna, that serves him daily was surprised.

Alex couldn't wait to meet the crown prince, Leo. He had met Leo only a few times in his childhood.

They couldn't meet for more than 10 years. He was glad that he could see him finally in the academy.

The maid didn't get why her master was so excited and woke up so early today even though he would sleep in late other days.

Nevertheless, Danna helped Alex with his morning routine and left to prepare for his departure for the Royal Academy.

Alex went to the dining hall where he would always have his breakfast with the Duke, his father, Cairos Amirite.

Duke didn't start his breakfast yet. He was waiting for his Son.

Duke ordered the Butler, Simon to serve the breakfast.

Alex was little surprised cause the Duke would have breakfast regardless what time he came.

He thought that today was going to be little hectic.

Duke Cairos: Good morning, Alex. You woke up early. I had to rush here to have breakfast with you.

Alex: Good morning, Daddy. I was little excited to visit the Royal Academy.

Duke Cairos: I see. You don't have the habit of waking up early no matter how many times I have told you.

But it is nice that you can be stubborn about things that interest you. Come, have breakfast with me.

Alex: Ok, Daddy.

Alex didn't want to ask the Duke why he hadn't had his breakfast yet, since he knows he will be nagged.

He sat in the chair next to the Duke as the Butler Simon ordered the staff to serve the breakfast.

They had pancake, grilled chicken salad and lemon juice for the breakfast.

Alex likes all these dishes. He is having his favourites today.

Maybe the Duke thought he was anxious to attend the Royal Academy instead of excited. He was being fed his favourite food to alleviate his mood.

Anyways Alex was glad.

Alex: I am happy that I am eating my favourite dishes for my breakfast. What prompted it though?

Cairos: You know that you have met the crown prince only few times in your childhood right.

Alex: Yeah. I am a little sad that I couldn't meet him for 10 years. I don't know how tall he is now.

Cairos: The crown prince didn't meet you deliberately after the last encounter with you.

Alex: Huh! Why? What did I do? I really like him though?

Cairos: You told him that he was a cute chubby but he didn't like that since others make fun of him that he is fat.

Alex: But I really meant it though? Infact I really wanted to chomp his cheeks.

Duke glared at him after that. Alex knew that he slipped his thoughts way too much.

He stopped talking and ate his pancake.

Cairos: Alex, you can't be this reckless while talking with others. It is fine since it is just you and me in your own home.

Alex just nodded while chewing food in his mouth.

Cairos: His highness Crown prince avoided you so that he can focus on himself. I would say that he grew really well in these 10 years.

I don't expect him to hold a grudge against you now but be careful around him. Both of you are 18. So I expect you to act a little tactfully.

Alex: yeah, Daddy. I will be careful around him. By the way, is he chubby?

Cairos: He isn't. He practices sword so he is really fit. Although his hair colour changed from blonde to Black.

Alex thought, 'I really liked his blonde hair though. But I don't really care what colour it is. His hair is really soft'

Cairos: You might not recognise him now but act considerate to other people in the Academy.

Alex: Ok, Daddy.

Alex and Duke Cairos finished their breakfast as they talked about the Academy.

Alex bid Duke goodbye as he set off to attend the academy on a coach.

He rode along the way as he was watching people sell various items on the street.

He got tempted as he watched someone eat barbeque chicken skewer in front of a stall.

He couldn't bear it and stopped the coach to grab a bite.

He ordered 2 skewers for himself.

He held on to the hot piping barbeque on the stick and bit into it.

He relished the taste as he chewed slowly.

But then, a small cat rubbed it's head on his ankle while meowing.

He saw the cat and thought it was adorable. He asked the stall owner for a plain cooked chicken.

He grabbed the kitten into his arms and fed him a piece of plain chicken. It ate as if it was hungry for a long time. It devoured all the chicken pieces Alex gave in no time.

Alex paid the stall owner and went back to the coach with the Kitten in his hands.

He drove to the academy while playing with the kitten.

Alex didn't know if the kitten lost its mother. He decided to raise it.

He arrived the Academy on time. There were few minutes left before the academy timings begin.

He didn't get anytime to greet students as all of them were asked by the dean of the academy to attend the meeting in the grand hall urgently.

Alex didn't know what happened on his first day of the Academy but he hurried to the grand hall.

All the students lined up as per their heights and Alex was in the last row.

He couldn't even greet people as the atmosphere was somewhat dire due to Principal, Teachers and Dean were giving serious looks.

Principal stood on the high podium as he made a declaration.

"Everyone, the academy will be suspended for a week as his Highness the Crown Prince Leo was assassinated on his way to the academy "

All the students were shocked to hear that.
