As soon as the smoke bomb hit the ground, a large amount of smoke immediately filled the area, causing Harrison and Frank to change their expressions drastically. They quickly drew their guns and took cover behind the door.
"Shit!"
"Kaitō Kid is nearby, stay alert!"
Zhang Yang had guessed correctly. If he tried to force his way in, he would likely be shot to pieces.
However, throwing the smoke bomb wasn't meant for charging in—it was meant for making his exit.
Zhang Yang quickly moved toward the exit, stepping out of the smoke-filled area.
Just before he had been hanging outside, Zhang Yang had observed the window's security bars. They were all welded with high-strength steel and were part of the wall, making it nearly impossible to open without the right tools.
But, as luck would have it, the points shop had exactly what he needed.
[Ding!]
[Successfully redeemed temporary item: Cold Laser Cutting Pliers!]
Zhang Yang returned to the roof, the most direct route to the fifth-floor room.
The crowd of onlookers erupted in surprise again.
"Wow, look, Kaitō Kid is back on the roof!"
"What is he up to this time?"
"Where are Harrison and Frank? How did they let Kaitō Kid get to the roof again?"
"Oh my god! They think they can catch him? That's a crazy idea!"
Then, Zhang Yang leapt down from the roof again, stunning everyone.
"Oh shit! He jumped off the roof again!"
"What? What does Kaitō Kid think he's doing?"
"Kaitō Kid is really into extreme sports?"
"Shit! Have you ever seen an extreme sport where you jump off a building?"
Zhang Yang grabbed onto the fifth-floor security bars, pulled out the cold laser cutting pliers, and used them to cut through the bars effortlessly.
The pliers looked like regular ones, but the jaws emitted two dark green laser beams.
"These pliers are awesome?"
Laser cutting was nothing new, but having it built into pliers was a first.
Zhang Yang extended the pliers, and a steel rod about the thickness of a finger was easily cut through by the laser, with no sparks flying. The result was surprisingly good!
In less than a minute, Zhang Yang had removed the security bars.
However, there was still a glass window blocking his way, and it was locked from the inside.
The steel bars were no match for him, but the glass was another story.
[Ding!]
[Successfully redeemed temporary item: Glass Cutter!]
A suction cup was fixed onto the glass, and at the tail of the suction cup was a glass cutter, allowing Zhang Yang to draw a circle around the glass. It was an incredibly convenient and professional tool.
After cutting the glass, Zhang Yang successfully entered the room.
He could still hear Frank and the others talking outside the door.
Zhang Yang smirked, then began searching for the Twelve Bronze Zodiac head in the room.
In the corner of the room, there was a desk that appeared to be for office use.
But when Zhang Yang opened the small cabinet underneath, he found a safe inside.
"Found you!"
Zhang Yang could easily open the mechanical locks of large safes, and smaller safes posed no problem at all.
Inside the safe was only one item—the Dog Head of the Twelve Bronze Zodiac—nothing else.
He quickly pocketed it and climbed back out the window, starting his retreat.
There were people searching inside and outside the Island Nation Embassy, so Zhang Yang didn't plan to leave via the ground. Instead, he climbed back to the roof using the security bars.
This left the crowd outside utterly dumbfounded.
"What the hell? Jumping down one moment and coming up the next, what is Kaitō Kid even doing?"
"Hahaha, so when Harrison and Frank can't see him, Kaitō Kid just casually moves around like this!"
"Shit! There's not even a hint of nervousness from Kaitō Kid!"
"I don't think Harrison and Frank can catch Kaitō Kid. They're not even in the same league!"
As the crowd was chatting, Zhang Yang set off fireworks again on the rooftop.
When the first firework exploded in the night sky, Harrison and Frank were shocked!
"Shit! What's going on?"
Frank immediately ran upstairs with his team.
This time, Harrison was more cautious, leaving a few people behind to guard the room.
The people outside the Island Nation Embassy were also stunned.
"What? Fireworks again?"
"NO! Has Kaitō Kid already succeeded? No way!"
"Oh my god! He really is a legend!"
"But Harrison and the others will definitely come after hearing the fireworks. How is he going to escape?"
Zhang Yang looked up at the fireworks, then walked to the edge of the building, unfolding his Silver-Winged Cape. Calmly, he jumped off the rooftop.
The crowd's gasps nearly drowned out the sound of the fireworks!
"What the hell! Is this for real? So this is the secret behind Kaitō Kid's flying disguise?"
"Shit! Harrison and Frank's reactions are way too slow!"
"Now it's confirmed, Kaitō Kid has succeeded!"
"I hope we can see Kaitō Kid's next move soon, I'm so curious about what's in the Island Nation Embassy!"
Zhang Yang swiftly soared above the crowd, scattering a large number of red petals on them.
The crowd cheered excitedly, shouting Kaitō Kid's name.
"Oh my god! These are real petals, and they're still damp!"
"Oh shit! They even smell like flowers! Kaitō Kid is truly magical!"
"It's so lucky to see Kaitō Kid tonight!"
Zhang Yang had set off fireworks twice and appeared multiple times tonight, leaving the live viewers envious.
"Such a shame, could Kaitō Kid send me some of those petals by mail?"
"If I'd known Kaitō Kid would show up so many times tonight, I would've gone to see it live!"
"Shit! When will I ever get to see Kaitō Kid in person?!"
"I hope Kaitō Kid doesn't leave Eagle Nation. Next time, I'll go to see him live!"
Frank returned to the room door empty-handed, and Harrison's pupils contracted.
"What's going on?"
"Where is Kaitō Kid?"
Frank shrugged dejectedly.
"He's gone!"
"Shit! His hang glider was too fast!"
Harrison immediately felt uneasy. He knew that if Kaitō Kid hadn't succeeded, he wouldn't leave!
"Matsumoto-san, please quickly check if your items are still there!"
Upon hearing this, Matsumoto Kinzo was stunned for a moment.
"What?"
He and Harrison had never left; he hadn't even considered that the items could be stolen.
Frank gave the door a doubtful glance.
But Harrison was already ninety percent sure the items were likely gone!
"Matsumoto-san, don't waste any more time. Kaitō Kid wouldn't leave unless he had gotten what he wanted!"
"If he's already run, it means he's taken the items!"
Matsumoto Kinzo refused to believe it, but under Harrison's angry roar, he reluctantly complied.
"Fine, Harrison-san, wait a moment!"
Matsumoto Kinzo unwillingly opened the door, but this time he didn't close it; instead, he froze at the doorway.
At that moment, Matsumoto Kinzo's gaze was fixed on the window—the very one Zhang Yang had opened.
