After they walked in and settled, we started talking about our lives
Kate took over her dad's company after his unfortunate passing and she is doing great. Married to a lawyer with a daughter of 6 years names Ashley.
Nicholas is also running his own business and it is thriving, he has a wife and no children but he insists they're happy the way they are
Meanwhile i refuse to take over my father's company and I am still not in a relationship, much less married.
We talked a lot to the point I didn't even notice that it was getting late.
I checked the time and it was 5:55pm which is five minutes before I agreed to meet Addison (the woman I ran over). I told them I had to go and escorted them out.
I got in my car and drove to the coffee shop as fast as I could with the notebook in hand, trying not to hit anyone....again.
As I got there, I looked around to see if I would recognize her but I didn't see her face properly.
I called out her name but no one answered so I just assumed that she wasn't here yet so I sat down and waited patiently.
After an hour of waiting and calling with no answer, I decided to go home. As I looked out the window, I began to notice a conspicuous looking black car outside of the coffee shop.
I didn't pay any mind to it. As I stood up to pay for my coffee, an old lady I recognized that worked in my sister's cancer support group noticed the notebook in my hand and walked up to me.
"Hello young man, whose book is that?" She asked so politely. "It was for a woman I met on the street. She told me to meet here to collect it from me but it she is nowhere to be found" I said with a frown.
"Oh Addison? Her husband probably found out she was leaving the house. That man is the devil" she said with a look of disdain.
"What do you mean? Does her husband not let her leave the house??" I asked looking puzzled.
"He doesn't. He also hits her all over her body. She wouldn't admit it but it is obvious with all those scars on her hands and legs."
I was shocked by what the old lady told me about her husband. I would never imagine that someone would do such a thing to such a kind woman. I felt my fists clench.
Even though I haven't officially met her, I have this overwhelming desire to do whatever it takes to protect her no matter what.
After a while, I left the coffee shop and was headed home. That was when I started to notice the same black car follow me home.
I instinctively knew something was wrong but I decided not to think too much of it and entered the house.

"Hello, Mr. Hemingway. Your son left the house at around 5:55pm to a coffee shop. I heard him talking to an old lady about being there to meet a woman named Addison Reeds." The man with dark sunglasses in a black SUV said with a deep voice.
"Alright, find out everything you can about the girl and get back to me as soon as you do" Hemingway said and then hung up the phone.
After a while of looking through the window in the house, the man eventually drove away leaving Luther to be very suspicious
