Chapter 5

Addison Reeds is a very smart and very attractive 24 year old woman with an hourglass body, emerald green eyes and brunette hair.

She has had a rather sad life filled with fear and neglect. Her father died before he was born leaving her alone with her mother who went into a downward spiral after her father's unfortunate passing.

Her mother then got married to a man who just neglected her. Addison had never felt real parental love before.

She then grew enough to work at a restaurant of a while

That was when she met Nick. He was rich and nice and always treated her with respect. Shortly after meeting, they fell inlove and got married

After the ceremony, his attitude changed towards her. He always raised his voice and even hits her when he is aggravated.

She has tried to leave the relationship on multiple occasions but due to the fear for her life, she endured.

A little while after, she was diagnosed with cancer. She then created her cancer support group where she can help young women like her find hope where it seems like there isn't.

Not long after, it reached a point where she wasn't even allowed to leave the house or else, she will be yelled at by her husband.

Addison's POV

I woke up bright and early to go to my group because I was called in. I just stop in my usual long sleeved hoodie and jeans to cover my scars.

I made breakfast for Nick and left the house before he woke up to avoid confrontation.

I was in a hurry and I guess I didn't see where I was going because a car bumped into me and I fell on the ground spilling the content of my bag everywhere.

The man that was driving came out and I was immediately blown away, I was packing my things from the floor and then quickly ran away hoping he didn't notice how red my cheeks were.

I had seen that man before on TV and I know he is as Rick as my husband because of the car he drove but wow. His physique was breathtaking.

What am I saying? I can't be having these thoughts, I'm married. I snapped out of it and resumed walking to the centre. I was going to call my best friend, Emily but I realized I left my phone at home.

After a long day at the centre, I got home and went to bed immediately because I was really tired.

I woke up early the next day around 6am when I saw a missed phone call from an unknown number.

"Hello, I saw your missed call. Who is this?" I asked lightly as I had just woken up.

"Yh, I saw your book on the street and I just thought I would call the number at the back" He said. I don't know why but his voice couldn't help but make me smile.

"Oh, I've been looking for that!" I said leaving out a light chuckle.

"Meet me at the coffee shop downtown to pick it up at around 3pm. Sound good?" I said. "Okay great" He said politely and then hung up the phone.

I didn't even realize that a smile was plastered on my face because when I stood up, Nick came out of nowhere.

"Why are you smiling while on the phone with another guy?"
