She didn't know how long had passed, but eventually her chaotic thoughts began to clear.
"Wait a minute… didn't I run into that jerk at the nightclub last night? How did I end up waking up in Yu Aotian's place?" Her hand instinctively brushed her cheek.
Fragments of last night came back to her. "Ugh, that bastard said he'd strip me... but what happened after that?"
'Yu Aotian, didn't you say if I kissed you and made you feel something, you'd let me go?' That was the only thing she could clearly recall — and it made her want to scream. "Argh! How could I do something like that? And this morning I even wrongly accused him. But... wait. If I really misunderstood him, why did I wake up naked in his bed?"
Only Yu Aotian could answer that.
She quietly opened the door and peeked into the living room, then quickly pulled her head back.
Sitting on the couch, Yu Aotian had already noticed her spying and said coldly, "Calmed down now?"
She peeked her head out again like a guilty child. "I'm sorry, Yu Aotian. I know now… you didn't hit me."
"You think an apology is enough?"
"Then what do you want?!" she snapped, standing at the door. "You didn't hit me, fine — but you still took off my clothes, didn't you?!"
He raised a brow with a wicked smile. "Well, for that kind of thing, of course clothes come off."
That kind of thing? Did they actually…?
She stared at his face, trying to tell if he was joking. "Yu Aotian… I know you saved me last night. If it weren't for you, I might've been assaulted. But can you tell me… did we really… do that?"
Yu Aotian smirked and pointed at her stomach. "You'll know in a month."
What?! She nearly lost her mind. Only this evil man would torment her like this.
"Yu Aotian, where are my clothes?"
"I sent them to be washed. They'll be back soon."
"Why did you wash them?"
He really didn't want to bring it up — her clothes were covered in vomit. "They were dirty."
"Oh. Then… where's the bathroom?"
Annoyed by her endless questions, Yu Aotian stood up. "This place isn't a maze. That's the living room, that's the bedroom. What's left? The bathroom! Are you dumb?"
Irritated, she turned toward the bathroom, but then shouted back, "You're the dumb one!"
"Hm? What did you just say?" His expression darkened and he stormed over.
Bang! She locked the door just in time.
Outside, Yu Aotian... laughed?
Yep. Even if he wanted to be mad, it was hard with someone like her.
He walked over to the kitchen. But just as he turned on the stove, the bathroom door creaked open and a little head peeked out.
"What now?" he snapped.
"Um… there's only one toothbrush. What should I use?"
His temper flared again. Memories of her chaotic sleep behavior — punching, kicking, chewing in her sleep — all came flooding back. No wonder he had dark circles this morning.
He tossed her a new toothbrush. "So annoying!"
"What?! Then why'd you bring me here in the first place?! I'm annoyed too!"
"Hmm?" Did he just hear her swear? His face turned grim. "Say that again."
"I want to! What can you do? You started it!"
"Oh? Looks like I was too nice this morning — your courage has grown, little one."
Realizing she'd pushed him too far, she forced a nervous smile. "Hehe… I'll go brush my teeth now."
Back in the bathroom, she leaned on the sink. "Phew… that was close. He's the notorious Yu Aotian, and I talked back? Am I crazy?"
But somehow, he didn't seem that scary anymore.
After washing up, her clothes were returned. She got dressed and sat at the table, staring at the spread of breakfast.
"You made all this?"
"Where do you think it came from?"
"You really cooked?!" She was impressed. She couldn't cook at all — the one time she tried, Feng Chenyi mocked her. But this mafia boss could cook? Amazing. "It's delicious."
Like a typical girl, she seemed to forget all her worries once food was involved. He couldn't help but admire that.
"Why were you working at a nightclub?" he asked.
"Fast cash. They pay daily — it's easier for my grandpa's dialysis."
He set down his chopsticks and smirked, resting his chin in one hand. "Then be my woman. I'll pay by the hour. Even more convenient, no?"
She looked up and met his half-joking, half-serious gaze. Her face dropped. "No thanks. I just want a normal relationship, a normal marriage. Besides, aren't you already a sugar baby? Can you even afford me?"
"Wait, what? Sugar baby?!" He stared at her, completely thrown off. "Where'd you get that idea?!"
