"That's easy," Yaoyao said. "Your apartment's small, but those watches on your shelf? Each must cost at least a few hundred thousand. Altogether, that's millions. And this crystal tableware? Croatian, right? Probably over 20k. And your car? Bet some rich woman gave it to you."
Listening to her analysis, even Yu Aotian started to wonder if he really was a sugar baby. "Little thing, you've got sharp eyes. At your age, most girls wouldn't recognize these brands, especially the tableware."
She smiled awkwardly. It wasn't something she learned from TV — her ex, Feng Chenyi, had filled his Japanese villa with luxury goods. For all his flaws, when someone once said "Feng Chenyi's ex has seen it all," they weren't wrong.
"I saw it all on TV," she lied.
"Oh really?" Yu Aotian could see through her lie, but didn't press. He didn't care enough to ask why.
After breakfast, Yaoyao nervously glanced at him while he packed. "Yu… Yu Aotian, I just wanted to ask… did my kiss last night… do anything for you?"
If she could see his face, she might've died from the glare alone. He looked like he'd swallowed charcoal. "Don't bring up last night."
"Why not? I mean, I don't normally have the guts to kiss a guy! I deserve to know—did it work? If I made you feel something, you promised to let me go!"
He really didn't want to remember that. Not the kiss… but the part after—when she puked. Mid-kiss. If he hadn't dodged in time, she'd have barfed right into his mouth. Just thinking about it was traumatizing. "I said drop it! Time for work."
"Work?" She suddenly panicked. "What time is it?!"
"Nine."
"Nine?! I'm dead! I was supposed to be at work at eight!"
"Relax. It's not that late."
"You're in the PR department—you start at 10! I'm in Facilities! I'm already an hour late! I'm so fired!"
"Come with me. I promise you'll be fine."
"Yeah, right. Last time you said that, I nearly was fired—if not for GM Long!"
But wait… "Is GM Long your friend? Did he reinstate me because of you?"
Yu Aotian smirked, pulling open the door. "Who knows? Let's go, I'll drive you."
Just as the door opened, four people stood outside: Long Qi, Long Ye, and two others she recognized from work—Han Lishang and Mo Xuetong.
Do they all live together?
The air turned awkward fast. Han Lishang and Mo Xuetong stared at Yaoyao with clear hostility.
"Aotian, why'd you bring her here?" Han Lishang asked coldly, shooting Yaoyao a sharp look.
This apartment building was private, shared only between the five of them. No outsiders had ever stepped inside—until now. They didn't like their space being invaded.
"We'll talk after work," Yu Aotian replied, brushing past them.
Yaoyao got into the car, and before reaching Bosen Group, she hopped out early to walk in with Long Qi. But after a few steps, she froze.
"Come on, Princess Flat," he called.
"N-No, you go ahead. It's better if we don't walk in together…"
Long Qi burst into laughter. "Relax. They know my taste. They'll probably think you're my daughter."
"What's that supposed to mean?! We're the same age! Why not say I'm your mom?"
"Ooh, mouthy today, aren't you? Fine, let's go." He smiled and dragged her into the elevator.
That smile looked suspicious… "You're not scheming something again, are you?"
"Who, me? Never."
He definitely was.
Nervously, she followed him to the 40th floor. She expected him to go to his office, but he got off with her.
"You don't have to walk me in."
"Hah, don't flatter yourself, Princess Flat."
"Then why—"
"Yaoyao! You're here! Did you hear? Manager Zhang got demoted to cleaning staff. And our new manager is…" Bai Ling trailed off as she spotted Long Qi beside Yaoyao. "Dragon… Manager Long?"
She pulled Yaoyao aside. "He's your new manager."
"What?!"
"In late on your first week, and now mouthing off to your new boss. What should I do with you?" Long Qi grinned from his office chair, feet on the desk.
No wonder he wasn't mad earlier—he was waiting for this moment!
What were the execs thinking, putting him in charge of Facilities?
"Sorry, Manager Long."
"Sorry doesn't cut it!" He jumped up, poking her forehead. "I carried you last night, and you puked all over me! Do you know how humiliating that was?"
"Huh? You carried me? I puked on you?"
"Yeah, last night!"
"Wait… you saved me?"
Long Qi paused. "So Aotian didn't tell you… yeah, we saved you together."
So that's what really happened…
