The last plea

Chapter 12: Queen Diane's POV

I wiped my tears and cleared my throat

"I know you don't want me here but I have to present the girl to you tomorrow night.. it's the night of the consummation"

My son turned to look at me and for once our eyes met.those lifeless looking eyes sent shivers down my ass.

"You have grown wings"he said not even blinking for once.i couldn't stand the glare so I looked away

"Am just doing what is best for everyone "I said not letting him intimidate me with his looks.

"Right "the young king said and continued his painting.i couldn't tell if he was agreeing to it or just making fun of me but I stood transfixed watching him paint another demon

"You're distracting me, Diane!"

"Uh..am,am sorry..so should I get your bride ready for the consummation?"

"Yes and you might also want to prepare a burial place for her cuz you're gonna need that..I shouldn't be reminding you "my son replied non chalantly and I shuddered at the thought of loosing another daughter-in-law.

I was getting fed up with the number of girls I buried each time they encountered daemon,all I needed was just a grand child and it's obvious daemon was not willing to fulfill that wish for me.

I wondered what he did to the poor girls that caused them the most horrible deaths which was how Lunar came in the picture.Her father had a deal with me to marry her off to us in exchange for greener pasture since his kingdom was running out of food and livestock for the survival of his subjects..the greedy ol' fool,I paid him more than enough to have his wild and arrogant daughter but seeing the child in person made me want to cry.

She was the perfect definition of a goddess..she had auburn hair that flowed down to her waist,her lilac eyes where languid and transparent.she looked like something out of a mythical story,so flawless and good looking and sometimes I feel like maybe her father lied to me about her being a lunatic.

I looked at my son..he was a maniac already so another like him wouldn't cuz any harm, right?

"You may leave now..I can't breathe with you standing there, please leave"

"Yes son..I mean your majesty"I said cautiously and left his room.this was going to be the last plea,if this girl doesn't work then am done being the good mom and queen.i might as well let daemon do what he wants
