[The pre-sheriff speeches are over. The sheriff election begins. Current candidates are Player 2 and Player 7. Please vote.]
[Player 10 votes for Player 2. Players 4 and 12 vote for Player 7. Player 7 is elected sheriff, gaining 1.5x voting power.]
Seeing this vote tally, the 300 million viewers were once again stunned, staring at Player 12.
The barrage exploded:
"Damn, Player 11's face must be swollen. No one listened to her!"
"Is Player 12 a wolf?"
"I thought Player 11's analysis was spot-on. Why not force a tiebreaker?"
"Ugh, Player 12 just ruined my 'Player 7哥哥's' prophet credibility!"
"Your '哥哥' never had any credibility. He's clearly a wolf!"
"Voting in the sheriff election is just personal choice. No big deal."
[All players must now fill in the corresponding identities for the displayed numbers.]
This was a new mechanic: guessing others' identities.
Of course, deducing everyone's roles from just one round of pre-sheriff speeches was unrealistic.
The system randomly assigned each player three numbers (excluding their own). Guessing all three identities correctly would grant 3 points and advancement, even if the game was lost.
Player 6, Lin Tian, drew numbers 2, 7, and 9.
He analyzed the pre-sheriff speeches first.
Starting with Player 2 as a logical anchor, he could roughly guess the roles of the others.
Player 9's identity would rely purely on speech patterns and demeanor.
Many players scratched their heads—how could they guess with only one round of vague speeches? Some just took wild guesses, hoping for luck.
Only Player 1 glanced around confidently, grinning as if victory was assured.
Lin Tian labeled Player 2 as a werewolf, Player 7 as the prophet, and Player 9 as a villager.
The barrage erupted again:
"OMG, who's the wolf?!"
"Poor Player 6's perspective is cursed!"
"He actually called Player 2 a wolf. He's definitely on the wrong side."
"Player 2 didn't back down even after Player 3's bluff. How could they be a wolf?"
"I need to hear Player 6's reasoning during the post-game review."
"I thought he was faking cluelessness five years ago because of a script!"
[All players have submitted. Last night was a peaceful night. The sheriff chooses the speaking order (left or right of the sheriff).]
[Player 8, please speak.]
"This vote makes everything clear," Player 8 declared.
"Player 11's earlier suggestion for a tiebreaker was reasonable, but Player 12 rushed to vote for 7. My wolf suspects are 6, 7, 9, and 12."
The audience agreed—good players usually approach sheriff elections cautiously. A tiebreaker would favor the villagers. Player 12's unexplained vote for 7 reeked of suspicion. Without a solid defense, they'd likely be voted out.
"If Player 4 is a 'wolf-gold' (a fake prophet's validated target), then Player 12 might be innocent. If Player 9 is a misguided villager, there's room for error. But I think Player 4 is a 'brainwash-gold'—Player 7 knew their wolf teammate (12) would vote for them, so they 'verified' 4 to manipulate us. Their constant addressing of Player 4 during speeches proves it."
This theory was wild—imagine wolves openly coordinating a brainwash! Lin Tian sighed. Such tactics didn't fit Player 7's skill level but matched Players 5 and 8's blunt style.
"Player 11 tried to force a tie, but 12 stubbornly voted for their wolf ally. You all get it."
"Player 7 'validated' 4 and shielded 6. How is that prophetic?"
"This wolf team's strategy is laughable. Player 2's an ironclad prophet, yet 6 and 7 still challenged them? Ridiculous."
Oh, so in Player 8's fantasy, I'm part of this clownish wolf pack? Lin Tian reluctantly entertained the logic.
"Player 2 is the prophet, Player 3 is validated, I'm a villager, and Player 10's role is unclear. Player 2 should adjust their inspection targets—maybe 1, 3, or 9. Player 5 claimed to support you earlier; judge them by their votes. Prophet's lives are short in this mode—just pick someone!"
Player 8's speech energized the audience. With 7 as sheriff, everyone assumed a wolf team was in control. The barrage roasted Lin Tian mercilessly:
"Just kill Player 6 already!"
"He's obviously clueless. How is this not obvious?!"
"Player 12's vote, Player 9's aggression—there must be two more lurking wolves!"
"With a hunter aiding the wolves, they'll steamroll!"
...
Player 8's handsome face hid a clueless mind. His "analysis" was pure comedy to Lin Tian.
[Player 9, please speak.]
Player 9 glared at the table.
"Player 8, I won't even bother arguing. Claiming 'everything's clear' is a joke. I'm siding with 7. For Players 6 and 7, I'll live, die, and crash into walls!" They winked at 7, who smirked.
"If you think 6 and 7 are wolves, call me the ultimate superwolf. To eliminate them, kill me first!"
"Player 8, how do you justify labeling me a wolf? Are we playing the same game? Why did you blindly trust Player 2 as prophet? Just because 12 voted for 7? Is 12 your relative? Their vote has nothing to do with identifying the prophet—this is forced logic!"
