The King, still reeling from Terra's sudden appearance, tried to regain his composure. "Goddess Terra," he said, his voice a mixture of awe and apprehension. "To what do we owe this… unexpected honor? The gods do not often grace our kingdom with their presence."
Terra turned her radiant gaze towards the King, her expression thoughtful. "I have taken quite a liking to this boy," she said, gesturing towards Kurt with a graceful hand. "He possesses a… unique potential, a spark that I find… intriguing."
She paused, her voice taking on a more serious tone. "Therefore, I would advise against appointing him to any high-ranking royal position. Not yet. He still has much room to grow, much to learn. To burden him with such responsibilities now would be… premature."
The King's eyes widened. "Grow?" he echoed, his mind racing. "What kind of… what manner of power will he possess when he reaches his full potential? What kind of… beast will he become?" Despite his apprehension, the King was also a pragmatist. He understood the implications of Terra's words. To have the favor of a goddess, to have someone with such potential under his kingdom's protection... it was an opportunity he couldn't easily dismiss.
"Very well, Goddess Terra," the King said, bowing his head slightly. "I understand your… recommendation. I will heed your advice and refrain from assigning him any royal duties for the time being."
Kurt, who had been listening to this exchange with a mixture of confusion and astonishment, felt a wave of relief wash over him. The thought of being thrust into a position of power, of being responsible for a kingdom, was overwhelming.
He stepped forward, offering a respectful bow to the King. "Thank you, Your Majesty," he said, his voice sincere. He then turned towards Terra, his expression filled with gratitude.
As Kurt left the throne room, Terra followed him, her presence still radiating power and warmth. Once they were a safe distance from the royal chamber, Kurt turned to the goddess.
"Thank you, Goddess Terra," he said, his voice filled with genuine appreciation. "The burden of royal positions… it would have been a heavy load for me to bear."
Terra smiled, her gaze piercing and intense. "You are welcome, young one. But do not think this is the end of our conversation. There is still a matter that requires clarification." Her tone shifted, becoming serious and demanding. "How did you summon my weapon? I demand to know."
