Right as I was starting to get bored of dodging the wolf-man's
pathetic attempts, I felt something shift. The Cloak of 'Nah, I'm Good'
fluttered around me like it had a mind of its own, almost like it was
trying to say, "Hey, don't just stand there and let this dude slap you
around."
For some reason, I didn't even think about it. Without knowing why, I
yanked the cloak in front of me as the wolf-man lunged for another
strike. The cloak glowed, and before I knew it, the wolf-man
slammed into a sort of invisible barrier. He bounced back like he'd
run into a brick wall, groaning in pain.
I stood there, wide-eyed. "Okay, now that was not in the instruction
manual."
Kyuu blinked, her ears perking up in surprise. "What just happened?"
I had no idea. But for once, I wasn't complaining.
