I wasn't going to let some wannabe alpha make me look bad. So, I
decided to take action. It's not like I had much of a plan—honestly, I
was just winging it.
With the speed of a sloth on a lazy day, I dodged his first attempt to
swipe at me. I swear, I could've done this with one hand tied behind
my back and a blindfold on. It was like trying to outrun a turtle in a
race.
"Seriously?" I muttered, stepping aside like I was dodging a badly
thrown dodgeball. "Is this the best you've got?"
The wolf-man let out an angry growl, charging again, his claws
slashing through the air. But I was already out of his reach.
Kyuu, for whatever reason, was still standing behind me, looking
amused. "I didn't know you were a professional at getting chased by
big, ugly monsters," she teased.
"Didn't know either," I shot back. "But it looks like it's working so far."
