CHAPTER 85

c85: Supreme Kai

In the training room, Li Xu was sparring with Bulma, helping her adjust to her rising combat power.

Over the course of a month, Bulma had consumed nearly one hundred Tree of Might fruits. Her battle power had now risen to around 300,000 a level that placed her firmly above most Frieza Force elites and comparable to the Ginyu Force at its peak.

However, as with any energy-enhancing method, the effect of the Spirit Fruits diminished over time. It was similar to developing drug resistance unless higher-grade fruits were cultivated, the benefits became negligible.

"Husband, I've been training for a whole month... can I take a break now?" Bulma asked with a tired, pleading expression. For her, training was far less exciting than inventing or traveling.

"Alright." Li Xu smiled warmly.

One month of focused training was likely Bulma's limit, especially now that the Spirit Fruits no longer yielded significant results. Continuing the regimen would only wear her out needlessly.

"Great!" Bulma nearly leapt with joy.

"I'm heading out then! You keep practicing if you want!" she said, bolting for the exit before Li Xu could change his mind.

"Li Xu."

A soft voice echoed in Li Xu's ear it was Whis.

"Whis? What's up?" Li Xu asked, slightly surprised. The angel rarely initiated contact unless something important was involved.

"Come to the Destroyer's Realm. There's someone here who would like to meet you," Whis said gently.

"Someone besides you and Lord Beerus?" Li Xu mused, curious. He hadn't visited the Destroyer's Realm in a while and also missed his children, Li Yi and Bulla, who were still training there.

"Alright, I'll head over now."

With a few pinpoint Instant Transmissions, Li Xu vanished from the training chamber and arrived in the world of the God of Destruction.

"Whis, who's looking for me?" Li Xu asked upon materializing.

"Greetings! I'm the Supreme Kai of Time!" said a small girl beside Whis. She had crimson hair, magenta eyes, and pointed ears her aura hinted at deep cosmic wisdom despite her youthful appearance.

Li Xu recognized her immediately. As a longtime Dragon Ball fan, he knew that this deity was often called Chronoa in fan translations a Kaioshin responsible for overseeing all of space-time.

"Nice to meet you, I'm Li Xu," he replied politely.

Just then, Li Yi and Bulla rushed toward him.

"Dad!" they both shouted, leaping into his arms with excitement.

"Xiao Yi, Bulla, have you two been training hard?" Li Xu asked warmly, patting their heads affectionately.

"Uncle Whis gives us really tough training!" Bulla said, puffing up her cheeks in mock complaint.

"Alright then, go have some fun. Here's a reward." Li Xu handed each child a Spirit Fruit from the remaining stock he had stored. Though the fruit's effects had faded for Bulma, they were still extremely potent for developing children.

The two kids scampered off with wide smiles.

"Miss Chronoa, what brings you here?" Li Xu turned back to the Supreme Kai of Time. Despite her youthful appearance, she was known to be over 75 million years old a truly ancient being in the cosmic hierarchy.

"I'm preparing to form a Time Patrol, and Mr. Whis suggested you as a candidate," Chronoa said with a warm smile.

"You want me to join the Time Patrol?" Li Xu blinked. "I'm flattered, but I don't think my strength is enough for that kind of mission."

"Mr. Whis has high hopes for your potential," Chronoa replied. "More importantly, you've already touched the Laws of Time and Space, which very few mortals have ever done. That talent will be invaluable for navigating temporal rifts and anomalies."

Li Xu paused to consider the proposal seriously, then finally nodded.

"Alright, but I have three questions."

"Which three?" Chronoa asked with a calm expression, ready to answer.

"The first question: what are the main responsibilities of the Time Patrol?" Li Xu asked calmly.

"The Time Patrol is tasked with safeguarding the stability of the space-time continuum," Chronoa (Kane) replied. "We prevent unauthorized interference with the time axis, correct distortions, and eliminate the creation of dangerous alternate timelines. This includes events like rogue usage of time travel devices, similar to the ones once used by Cell or Trunks."

"Second question: which enemies will the Time Patrol mainly face in the future?" Li Xu continued, already suspecting the answer.

"The primary enemy of the Time Patrol is the Dark Demon Realm, especially the Dark Supreme Kai, Mechikabura," Chronoa said, her expression darkening. "He commands a legion of time-warping villains like Demon God Towa, Dabura, and Mira—who aim to corrupt time and gain dominion over all space-time realities. Even the Xeno versions of known warriors have been manipulated by them."

"And the third question: what benefit do I get for joining the Time Patrol?" Li Xu asked with a smirk.

If there was no meaningful benefit, he had no intention of joining. In his view, time spent cultivating his own power was worth more than any title or mission.

Chronoa blinked, momentarily caught off guard. "Benefits? Uh…" She didn't have a ready answer clearly not used to this kind of bargaining.

Standing nearby, Whis chuckled softly. He had long anticipated that Li Xu would ask for something in return. Knowing Li Xu's nature, Whis had expected a practical request rather than an honor-bound answer.

"What benefit are you looking for?" Chronoa asked straightforwardly, realizing she'd have better luck letting Li Xu name his price.

"Can you create a room like the Hyperbolic Time Chamber, but without the time limit? Ideally, with no entrance restrictions," Li Xu said. He recalled that Chronoa had control over time energy, and such a space could accelerate his cultivation tremendously.

"That's doable," Chronoa nodded. "I can alter the time flow within a sealed environment using Chrono Energy, but it's sustained by my own power. Once my temporal energy runs dry, the effect ends."

"How long can it last?" Li Xu asked.

"Roughly a month of real-world time," Chronoa answered, gauging her current energy reserves.

"And the time dilation?" he followed up.

"Inside, time will pass at a rate of two months for every day outside."

"Perfect. Please help me modify this Gravity Training Room into that kind of chamber," Li Xu said. He pulled out a Capsule Corp. capsule, tossed it on the ground, and a state-of-the-art gravity chamber appeared.

"No problem."

Chronoa extended her hands, and a shimmering layer of silver-gray Chrono Energy enveloped her palms. Li Xu instantly recognized this it was the same energy used to restore damaged timelines in Dragon Ball Heroes.

She pressed her hands forward, allowing the temporal field to merge with the room. In mere minutes, the transformation was complete—but the exertion had clearly taken its toll.

"It's done," she said, catching her breath. Her energy had dipped noticeably; even for a Kai of Time, creating such a chamber required immense power.

"This isn't bad at all," Li Xu thought to himself. "Once I master more of the Time Law, I should be able to replicate something like this on my own. Based on her output, Chronoa's time comprehension must be at least 30% mastery a solid 'Small Completion' stage."

"I'm exhausted…" Chronoa muttered with a long exhale.

"Thank you," Li Xu said sincerely. Gaining such a training chamber even for a single use granted him five years of cultivation in just one month. It was a significant boost toward his next breakthrough.

The Hyperbolic Time Chamber on Earth, by contrast, had strict rules: one person could only enter for two days total (equivalent to two years inside). Overstaying meant the chamber would seal permanently, unless the user had power at least equal to Super Saiyan 3 to shatter the spatial barrier.

At his current level, Li Xu couldn't do that yet.

"I hope all that effort pays off," Chronoa said, still catching her breath.

"Is there anything else I need to do now?" Li Xu asked.

"No. Your current goal is to grow stronger. If a mission arises, I'll notify you—but I promise, the tasks will align with your current abilities," Chronoa reassured him.

"Understood. I'll focus on my training." Li Xu nodded. He didn't need anyone to push him his desire for growth was already relentless.

"Oh, right! This is for you." Chronoa suddenly reached into her sleeve and handed him a shimmering purple ring.

"What's this?" Li Xu asked, examining the artifact.

"It's a Time Ring the badge of a certified Time Patroller," Chronoa said with a smile. "It allows you to navigate authorized timelines and signifies your role within the Patrol."
