A Surprising Request

"What the hell!" Liam frowned upon seeing the mess on his clothes.

"Oh my God!!!!" Walter rushed over, seeing the mess he was in.

Liam was pissed off.

"Young master, I told you it was best to mind our business, but you ignored me. Now look at your clothes, you stink," Walter scolded him.

"Let me go clean myself up in the restroom," Liam responded angrily, walking towards the restroom.

Liam went to the restroom to clean himself. He had to look presentable and clean. He could not let anyone see the almighty Liam Gonzalez looking like a mess—it would put a stain on his reputation. Still, he couldn't stop thinking about the strange girl.

Liam returned to see the young girl still on the floor unconscious. His outfit looked a bit better, but he still smelled.

"Young master, we need to go home. You need to have a good bathe and get rid of those clothes," Walter said, packing their stuff.

Liam, though angry, knew the young girl was in pain, and that made her drink to stupor. He couldn't just leave her in such a frail condition when she needed care the most.

"It's fine, let's go home, but I'm taking her with us," Liam said, carrying the unknown girl in his arms.

"But why, young master? She is a stranger. We know nothing about her," Walter argued.

"She is a stranger, but in pain. Before she passed out, she spoke about being detested by her father because of her gender. Absurd, right?" Liam replied.

"That's insane. Why would a child be hated by the family because of the sex?" Walter scoffed.

Walter, understanding Liam's point, no longer argued, and they made their way to the car, speeding off towards the Gonzalez mansion.

Arriving at their destination—the Gonzalez mansion—Liam carefully carried the unknown girl in his arms, taking her to the guest room.

He placed her gently on the bed. She stirred a little but was still fast asleep. He got a bowl of water and a piece of cloth and gently dabbed her face with it, watching her beautiful face as different thoughts swirled in his mind. He tucked her in gently and left the room silently.

...

Ember wakes up to see herself in an unfamiliar environment, but she could not think about it for long because she was having a severe hangover.

"Where am I?" Ember wondered.

"Ahhhhhhhh," Ember screamed, holding her head in anguish and pain.

"Are you okay?" Walter asked, rushing to meet her.

"My head hurts so much," Ember wailed.

"You're having a hangover. Just don't overstress yourself," Walter advised, urging her to rest.

"Where am I?" Ember asked weakly.

"Just rest for now. I'll explain everything to you later," Walter replied, urging her to rest and giving her some pills in order to make her fall asleep. He stays with her till she falls asleep again.

...

Liam comes back from work exhausted and stressed out as usual, only to be surprised that the unknown girl is still at his residence.

"Welcome back, young master," Walter smiled as he saw Liam park his car in the mansion's garage.

"Good evening, Walter. How are you doing?" Liam asked.

"I am fine, young master. Before I forget, the unknown lady is still asleep in the guest room," Walter quickly informed him.

"Really?" Liam asked, surprised.

"Yes. She woke up this afternoon in pain due to a hangover. I had to take care of her till she was able to fall asleep again," Walter explained.

"Wonderful," Liam chuckled.

"When she wakes up, please tell her I would love to see her," Liam replied.

Walter nods swiftly and walks away.

...

"Where am I?" Ember yawned, feeling so much better now.

"You're finally awake," Walter beamed.

"Who are you? Did you abduct me?" Ember asked, frightened.

"Oh no, dear. You cried a lot yesterday, and when my boss approached you out of concern, you passed out at the bar. My boss and I brought you home," Walter explained the situation.

"Okay, sir. It was really thoughtful of you to help me despite my state. Thank you," Ember said, relieved.

"Uhm, Miss... What is your name?" Walter inquired.

"My name is Ember Steele," Ember replied briefly.

"OK, Miss Ember, my boss would love to see you," Walter requested.

"OK, sir. Lead the way," Ember replied, getting up from bed and tagging behind Walter to meet his boss.

"Good evening, Miss," Liam greeted her as she entered the living room with Walter.

"Good evening, sir," Ember responded, feeling uneasy.

Liam, noticing her fear, assures her there's nothing to be afraid of.

"Please take a seat," Liam offered.

"Thank you very much, sir," Ember replied, taking a seat, and likewise Walter.

"What's your name, Miss?" Liam inquired.

"I'm Ember Steele, and you?" Ember replied.

"I am Liam Gonzalez. Hold on, Miss—you mean the Steele family? Your father is a shareholder in G's company, right?" Liam asked curiously.

"Well, yes, and I've heard a lot about you, sir. It's an honour to meet you in person," Ember beamed.

"Thank you, dear. I saw you crying yesterday. I approached you, and you told me your father hates you because you're a female," Liam said.

"Oh, did I say that? It must have been the drink. Yes, it's true, sir. But hope I did not say a lot of rubbish?" Ember said, embarrassed.

"No, my dear. Just that after saying that, you surprisingly kissed me and ended up throwing up all over and passed out," Liam said, keeping a straight face.

"Oh my God! I am so sorry, sir. Please forgive me," Ember pleaded, going down on her knees, feeling so embarrassed.

"Please stand up, dear. That's not an issue. You were drunk and, besides, it's all in the past," Liam assured her, helping her get off the floor.

"Thank you, sir. Despite what I did, you still brought me home and took care of me. I appreciate it," Ember beamed happily.

"You're welcome, my dear. It's nothing. I have a proposal for you, though," Liam said, carefully watching her reaction.

"I'm all ears, sir," Ember replied.

Watching her a bit and her cheerfulness, Liam decided to drop the bombshell.

"Ember, I want you to marry me," Liam carefully said.

"What sirrrrrrr!!!!" Ember screamed in terror.
