[54] Tsukuyomi

The Mangekyo Sharingan, the Uchiha's ultimate kekkei genkai, had only been awakened in history by Madara and his younger brother, Izuna.

As for later figures like Shisui, Itachi, or Sasuke, some were still too young, others not yet born.

To the current Uchiha, the Mangekyo Sharingan was a thing of legend.

"Who are you?" Fugaku demanded, his voice low as he studied the figure with identical eyes and appearance.

The situation was uncanny, and Fugaku knew the ninja impersonating him truly possessed the Three-Tomoe Sharingan.

And it was, indeed, more powerful than his own.

"I'm Uchiha Fugaku." Tengen said with a faint smile.

"Don't joke around. Who are you really?" Fugaku's face darkened. Was this Uchiha ninja mocking him?

He was the Patriarch of the Uchiha.

"Perhaps a little spar will help you guess." Tengen said, his smile unwavering.

"Is that so?" Fugaku replied coldly. "Then don't blame me."

With that, Fugaku drew a shuriken, chakra surging through it. His right hand flicked, launching the weapon.

As the shuriken hurtled toward Tengen, it multiplied, forming a dense rain of blades.

"Shuriken Shadow Clone Jutsu."

Swish! Swish! Swish!

The shuriken clones, gleaming with light, flew like arrows, their overwhelming force enveloping Tengen. In an instant, they engulfed him, piercing the basement walls with countless holes.

"There!" Fugaku spun, a kunai in hand, slashing behind him.

Clang!

Tengen appeared, their kunai clashing. He had evaded the shuriken clones with astonishing speed.

A powerful force coursed through Tengen's palm.

The two figures sprang apart, weaving through the air, their movements a blur. Neither Tengen nor Fugaku could gain the upper hand, their skills evenly matched.

Of course, Tengen was holding back, refraining from using his formidable taijutsu or Armament Haki.

He didn't want Fugaku to connect him to the mysterious figure who had infiltrated Root months ago.

If too many coincidences piled up, it could spell trouble. Hiruzen and Danzo might start suspecting a Konoha-nin.

So, Tengen relied solely on the taijutsu of an average Jonin to counter Fugaku. Both moved with incredible speed and precision, surpassing most Jonin, thanks to their active Three-Tomoe Sharingan.

The Sharingan allowed them to seize fleeting opportunities in combat. As for why they avoided ninjutsu, the answer was simple.

The basement was too cramped, offering little room for ninjutsu. Taijutsu was more direct, more effective.

Clang! Clang!

The sound of kunai clashing, fists striking, and legs colliding echoed through the basement.

Fugaku, locked in combat, felt a growing unease. This Uchiha's taijutsu was exceptional, matching his own. Yet, Fugaku couldn't place his fighting style among the clan's Three-Tomoe wielders.

The Uchiha with Three-Tomoe Sharingan were few, and none matched this stranger.

Was it deliberate? Or was this a rogue Uchiha?

Fugaku entertained both possibilities.

Boom!

Their fists collided with a heavy thud, sending both flying backward. They landed on the walls, then dropped to the floor.

"Who are you really?" Fugaku demanded again, his voice heavy.

From his taijutsu, this mysterious Uchiha clearly possessed Jonin strength. Combined with the Three-Tomoe Sharingan, he was undoubtedly a Jonin.

"I told you, you wouldn't believe me." Tengen said slowly, then mentally commanded the system.

"Activate Mangekyo Sharingan."

[Mangekyo Sharingan activated successfully!]

Invisible red tendrils seeped into Tengen's eyes. He closed them briefly as a flood of knowledge about the Mangekyo's abilities coursed through his mind.

To his disbelief, this Mangekyo Sharingan had been modified by the system, granting it the capabilities of multiple Mangekyo variants.

"You won't believe me?" Fugaku frowned, watching Tengen close his eyes. What was this Uchiha playing at?

"Believe it or not, just hear me out."

"I'm Madara." Tengen declared. A mist rose around him, and in an instant, his Fugaku disguise dissolved, revealing a middle-aged man.

Those familiar with Madara might recognize this as his appearance in his prime.

"Madara? Impossible!" Fugaku roared.

Madara was the founder of Konoha, leading the Uchiha alongside Hashirama to establish the village.

But Madara had died at Hashirama's hands. His death was undeniable.

"Do you think I'm dead?" Tengen said coolly. "I am Madara Uchiha."

His voice carried a hint of madness, and Tengen inwardly applauded his own acting prowess.

"You can't be Madara!" Fugaku shouted. "Whoever you are, impersonating Madara means I'll capture you and interrogate you thoroughly."

"Is that so?" Tengen's closed eyes snapped open. His blood-red pupils no longer bore three spinning tomoe but a bizarre pattern: a solid central circle, surrounded by four hollow circles, connected by countless semicircular arcs. The eerie design pulsed with power.

"Mangekyo Sharingan." Fugaku gasped, his breath catching. This legendary dojutsu was the Uchiha's ultimate kekkei genkai.

"Tsukuyomi."
