[82] Frustration

The familiar voice made Tengen turn. A man with bright yellow hair stood before him.

"Minato-sensei." Tengen greeted. The man was Minato Namikaze, the future Yellow Flash of the Leaf.

"Tengen." Minato said, flashing a radiant smile. "Congratulations on winning the Chunin Exams yesterday. In a few days, you'll likely be promoted to Chunin."

"I hope so, as you say, Minato-sensei." Tengen replied with a grin.

"No need to be so formal. I'd like to discuss the Rasengan with you, if that's alright." Minato said, getting straight to the point.

"No problem." Tengen said, smiling.

The Rasengan was Minato's signature technique. After witnessing Tengen's Blazing Rasengan, Minato could likely deduce its mechanics, given time. By sharing his insights now, Tengen could earn Minato's goodwill, a small gesture for him, but valuable.

"Great, let's head to the training ground." Minato said, his eyes lighting up.

They arrived at the training ground.

"Minato-sensei, you probably understand the original Rasengan better than I do." Tengen said, chakra swirling into his palm, forming a pale blue orb. Though calm on the surface, its interior churned with destructive force.

"This is the basic Rasengan." Tengen explained. "I heard you developed it inspired by the Tailed Beast Bomb."

"That's true. I aimed to create a technique rivaling the Tailed Beast Bomb, but human strength often falls short of a Tailed Beast's." Minato said, shaking his head.

While the Rasengan was powerful, it paled compared to a Tailed Beast Bomb.

"Developing such a technique is already incredible, Minato-sensei." Tengen said with a smile.

In the future, Naruto would elevate the Rasengan to new heights, using it to defeat countless foes, even contributing to the downfall of Kaguya Otsutsuki.

"For my Blazing Rasengan, I start by expanding the Rasengan into a Great Ball Rasengan." Tengen said, his orb swelling in size. "Then, I infuse fire-natured chakra, maintaining a precise balance…"

Tengen detailed the process, how to reshape the Rasengan and integrate nature transformation to alter its form.

Some time later, Minato held a massive chakra sphere, half his height, wreathed in roaring flames.

"Blazing Rasengan!" Minato dashed toward a rocky cliff.

Boom. The orb struck, carving a spiraling crater. Cracks spiderwebbed outward, the stone scorched black. The Rasengan's raw power, enhanced by fire nature, was devastating.

"You did it, Minato-sensei." Tengen said, smiling.

"Thanks to your explanation. It was eye-opening." Minato said, grinning. "If fire chakra works, other natures should too, right?"

"Possibly." Tengen nodded.

"I feel a bit guilty learning so much from you." Minato said, forming hand seals. A puff of smoke revealed a scroll. "This is for you, Tengen. It's a technique I refined based on one of the Second Hokage's jutsu."

He handed the scroll to Tengen. "It's challenging to master, but if you have questions, come to me."

"Thank you, Minato-sensei." Tengen said.

"It's nothing. I learned an incredible technique from you." Minato said with a smile.

"Minato-sensei! Minato-sensei!" Familiar voices rang out.

Kakashi, Obito Uchiha, and Rin Nohara approached.

"How'd you know I was here?" Minato asked his students.

"Kakashi guessed you'd be here." Obito said. "And he was right."

"Is that so?" Minato smiled. "What's the rush?"

"Can we go on missions again?" Obito asked eagerly.

"Missions?" Minato blinked, then shook his head. "Obito, the Chunin Exams just ended. Mission assignments won't resume for a few days."

"Oh, man." Obito said, disappointed. He turned to Tengen. "Hey, Tengen, congrats on becoming a Chunin! We're equals now. Wanna spar?"

Minato gave a wry smile. Obito's enthusiasm was boundless, but having seen the Chunin Exams, Minato knew Tengen's strength far surpassed Obito's. It wasn't just Chunin-level.

"Obito, you're no match for Tengen." Kakashi said bluntly.

"What? Kakashi, just because Minato-sensei says you're Jonin-level doesn't mean you can act all high and mighty." Obito grumbled.

"I'm stating facts. Ask Minato-sensei if you don't believe me." Kakashi said.

"Minato-sensei?" Obito turned to him.

"Uh, Obito, keep working hard." Minato said, his tone gentle but evasive.

"Even you, Sensei?" Obito clutched his head in exasperation.

"Why don't you spar with Tengen, Kakashi? Let's see who's better."
