Desire

In the morning, Lola and Sola were training with a sword as he wanted to change his main weapon to a sword.

He felt more comfortable with it, and he could always use the axe at a short range.

Sola was using a one-edged, slightly curved sword that was about a meter long, including the handle. While he was training with Lola, Edric was learning spells and healing from Lona.

She was not all gloomy and serious while talking to Edric.

Freide, on the other hand, was practicing with Gruin, but their practice looked more like a fight to the death.

Lona was telling him the importance of his stance and the fact that his strength came from his feet and hips. They trained until Sola could no longer stand, but there were no signs of stopping.

The girl who looked soft and calm was very strict with Sola.

"Get up and fight, you pathetic worm."

But he could barely hold the sword.

"What do you think? Why is your mark not activating?"

Sola thought for a bit.

"I don't know."

Lola sighed, looking annoyed.

"Because you are not taking me seriously, you ugly shit. I will chop your head off, you hear me?!"

She was not joking, well, Sola thought she wasn't.

He was desperately deflecting each attack, some of them deadly if not blocked, but she was not stopping.

Her attacks were stronger and faster than the last one.

Sola deflected the attack, which was aimed at his heart. He mustered all of the strength he had and tried to attack back, but before his sword was even close to hitting her, there was a slash coming at him that would cut his neck instantly.

There was no time to dodge, this maniac was going to kill him.

As these thoughts rushed in Sola's mind, he felt the familiar power rising from within. It was like a whole bomb exploded inside of him, and he was flooded with dire power.

He sidestepped the attack with quick motion and started attacking her. Every swing was deadly.

It had only one intent to it: to kill the girl in front of him.

Lola's lips curved upwards a bit, and she started deflecting the attacks.

The speed and the power of the attacks were not more than she could handle, but what was giving her a hard time was his fighting style. Sola was not fighting like any human she had ever faced, he was fighting like a monster. Every attack was ruthless and unpredictable.

"Put your will in every slash, imbue your weapon with your desire."

Said Lola.

So, he did and felt his emotions and intent release from his hand into his weapon. His attacks became stronger, and it felt like he had already won the battle; it was only a matter of time until he could finish her off.

Sola was smiling.

Right as Lola saw that, her pupils dilated, and her little smirk became a wide smile on her lovely face.

"That's it, you feel it, don't you? You are overpowering mine, that sensation, it is beautiful, is it not?"

There was more clashing. Sola understood what she said, but there was no answer from him.

"That is when the outcome of the battle is decided, it doesn't matter if I am stronger than you, show them your will and the god will give you as much power as you need to succeed."

That's when something clicked in Sola's mind as if he understood something, but not clearly. The fight was over.

He achieved what Lola wanted him to achieve, so in the next moment, Sola felt this pleasing sensation leaving his mind as Lola did what she instructed him to do.

Moments later, he felt as if there was an unbreakable wall in front of him that would break him in one swoop.

Lola stopped the blade near Sola's neck, who lost the battle mentally the moment her desires overpowered his.

The practice was over, so both of them went to eat with others.

Sola was hungry and tired, there was nothing he wanted more than a delicious soup and a warm bread.

He was concentrated on the food and nothing else, but he started listening to them once he heard someone ask Lola how their practice went.

"It went well, that pretty face of his is not the only exceptional thing about him."

Sola almost threw up from hearing that, half an hour ago, she was teasing him about how ugly, pathetic, and weak he was, and now she was saying the exact opposite.

Lola was acting like a different person entirely.

The furious, mad girl was gone. It was replaced by a calm and collected version of her.She was like an ocean.

He wanted Edric and Freide to know what she made him do and how he suffered, but from how she was explaining things, it gave the impression as if they had a fun time practicing. So, Sola was looking at her, bewildered, while eating his food.

Lola felt his stare, looked at him back and smiled cutely, which pissed Sola even more."We are planning to practice the whole day tomorrow, isn't that right, Sola?"

Sola could not believe his ears.

'You witch'

It was not like he didn't want to practice or he was lazy, it was the fact that she was teasing him and acting differently that annoyed him.

On a serious note, Sola liked her way of teaching, squeezing every bit of power from him until he could no longer stand upright. he already felt how beneficial today's practice was.As it turned out, Freide's and Edric's practice went just as well.

The three of them were fast learners.

After coming to this world, Sola had a suspicion that people in this world didn't have a system, but it turned out he was wrong, everyone who had powers had it, some were born with those powers and some were not, but it was not an end if you weren't born with it, because one could also awaken the powers at any age with a process yet unknown to Sola.

The system itself was said to be created by the gods.

The next day was as hard as the previous one, Sola trained with Lola the whole day, they first practiced awakening the mark on command with Edric and Freide and then the two of them fought with swords.

Lola was explaining to him how to exert his will in a battle in depth.

Sola felt that he was getting the hang of it bit by bit.

About one painful yet productive week passed and everything was going smoothly. But there was one problem.
