Chapter-5 The curse!

"How irresponsible you are! I told you not to go anywhere. Do you know how much Sara is frightened?"Clara's voice was calm, but her anger was clear, trembling in the air between them.

"I'll explain everything... but please, let's get out of this museum first. I don't like the vibe here." Xavier glanced around nervously. "And... what happened to Sara?" he asked, struggling to process everything that had just happened.

"She kept crying, telling everyone she saw a ghost in the corridor," Clara said, her voice shaking with deep concern. "I'm sure she just got scared seeing some statue or something... but she fainted. Zabby already took her to a nearby hospital."Tears welled up in Clara's eyes, though she stubbornly blinked them away.

"Then we have no time to think about anything else. First, let's get all the students back to the hotel, and then we'll go see Sara," Xavier said, gently taking Clara's hand to calm her.As they walked quickly through the dim corridors, Xavier's mind was racing.

She's saying the same thing I heard in the news... And if I connect all the dots — what Nara said about the shadow soldiers — could it really be true?Even when my eyes glowed, Kayra noticed something strange. Could children be sensitive enough to see the supernatural? He wondered, resting his head against the window of the cab, the city lights blurring past.

I have to talk to Sara. I need to know what she saw... before it's too late.

They arrived at the hospital after twenty minutes. The moment Xavier stepped inside, a heavy, dark, and oppressive feeling wrapped around him, making his intuition scream in warning. Something was wrong—terribly wrong. But he couldn't bring himself to tell Clara about the museum incident, or the shadow he had seen yesterday. He knew she wouldn't believe him. So he kept silent and moved forward.

"Her condition is serious," Zabby said hurriedly as soon as Xavier reached him. "Her whole body has turned bluish-green, like she's caught some kind of infection. The doctors are confused; they can't figure out what it is. They're running blood tests to diagnose her."

"What are you talking about?! She turned bluish? How?!" Xavier shouted, his voice breaking with panic. He couldn't bear any more of this — he'd already endured too much.

"Calm down, Xavier. We're all tense," Clara said softly, pulling him back. "You need to stay strong. This is a hospital. Let's just... wait for the test results."

Xavier nodded stiffly, sinking into a chair beside her. Together, they sat in agonizing silence, waiting.

This is all because of me...That shadow Nara warned me about — did it come after me?His mind raced. But then why is Sara the one suffering? Why her?Confusion tore at him. Was it truly the shadow? Or had someone poisoned her?Kayra and Sara were from high-status families — daughters of the owner and principal. They had many enemies, many jealous of their power. What if... what if my first intuition was right all along?

Where are you, Nara...?I don't know anything about you... but my heart keeps telling me to seek you.

He stared through the transparent glass of the corridor, watching Sara's motionless figure on the hospital bed, helplessness gnawing at his chest.

And then—

"I am always here, my lord,"a whisper brushed against his heart.

He felt it — the gentle pressure of fingers resting lightly on his shoulder.

When he turned around, he saw her.

Nara was standing right beside him, her smile warm enough to heal a broken soul, her eyes filled with boundless respect... and something even deeper — love. This time, Xavier didn't feel fear in her presence. There was only a strange, unfamiliar comfort.

Nara could see it clearly — how frustrated and confused he was.She could feel every chaotic emotion raging inside him.

"Where are you going?" Clara asked when she noticed him stepping away from the corridor.

"Wait. I'll be back in ten minutes. Take care of Sara," he said quickly, leaving Clara behind in confusion as he disappeared down the hall.

The moment Xavier stepped outside the hospital, he turned to Nara sharply."Can you explain to me what the hell is happening right now!?" he demanded.

"I will explain everything," Nara said calmly, her voice steady."But we don't have time for that. The Shadow Knights are already after you—and that child, Sara, could die at any moment."

"What?!" Xavier's voice rose with panic."Why the hell are those bastards after me?! And Sara is going to die?!"

Before he could finish shouting, Nara reached out and grabbed his hand.

"I can cure her," she said firmly."I have the ability to heal wounds and curses from the Shadow Realm Knights. But—"Her eyes locked onto his, fierce and determined."You must make sure Clara is not present when I cure Sara. You have to trust me."

Xavier looked at her, breathing heavily, overwhelmed by everything happening too fast."Okay then... try it. I don't have any other choice," he said, turning back toward the hospital."But why don't you want Clara around? She can't even see you, can she?"

Nara's gaze darkened slightly."My lord, you are still unaware... of what she truly is."

Xavier froze."What... she is?" he asked, wary.

Nara shook her head gently."Let's not speak about it now. First... let's save Sara."
