Chapter eight

The date.

 "Ember" I woke up a bit early on Friday morning nothing having any plans for the day, I was still lying on my bed when my phone ran. I quickly ran to get my phone, It was an unknown number. I picked the call and placed the phone on speaker. " Hello" I answered. How are you doing the voice replied, it was Jeffery, the voice I can never forget even in my sleep. Who please I replied " pretending not to recognize the voice. It's me Jeffery. He replied, oh Jeff! So I didn't recognize ur voice. 

 No problem, he replied. Any plans for today "he asked ' what did you say I pretended. He replied I was asking if you will be free to go on a date with me later today. Yes I'm free, I replied in a low tone . immediately the call ending, I was standing close to my mirror blushing. I looked at my self and started praising myself. My priceless jewel, my most beautiful, my source of happiness, her mother's daughter. This is something I do every morning because you have to cherish your self before anyone do . place honor on your self and people would honor you. I don't need anyone to tell me I'm beautiful before I know that I'm really beautiful, because I see myself every morning and I tell my self that. Ember I love you, " I said as I quickly picked up my phone to call Mrs Lora.

 I wanted her to help me pick my dress, I mean after my mom, I also love Mrs Lora's fashion sense. "Good morning Mrs Lora, I said. Good morning Ember she replied. Please are you busy, I asked. No I'm free. "Wow! . I want you to help me pick a dress I'm going out today. I'll be on my way she replied.

 I quickly went to take my bath and few minutes later the door bell rang it was Mrs Lora. What's the occasion, you look so happy this morning, I mean I have never seen you this happy before, she replied. Occasion! No oh I just want to walk around the city , you know it's has been from one meeting to another. I tried to explain. Huh hmm , she kept on looking at me . what, help me pick an outfit I replied.

 She quickly went to my closet and the asked "what are we looking at " I want him not to be able to get his eyes off me, I mean I want to be breath taking, I replied. Him she said smiling. Umm I tried to cough, but nothing came out. she brought out a blue gown, gold heels and gold bag . She helped me style my hair I was looking so beautiful.

 It was 3 pm, Mrs Lora called my name I knew Jeffery was around . I catwalk out and I called, hey! Jeffery, I smiled he couldn't say a word for 3 minutes. Finally he replied hey . You are so beautiful, I mean I can't take my eyes off you . I know right " I replied, thank you. He opened the car and led me inside. 

 Finally we arrived at " Han_ gong- gan restaurant. I sat on a sit I mean I love it here, everywhere was neat and beautiful. Good afternoon ma, good afternoon sir the waitress really speaking " Korean" Jeffery replied him. I was amazed to see him speaking Korean. He looked at me, and asked what I wanted . I will take barbecue and any apple juice I replied. He requested for the same thing I requested.

 The place was quite and we needed to talk about something. How's your girlfriend I asked. " Girlfriend" he replied looking surprised. Yes, I mean senior wealth. Oh! You mean wealth.

 Wealth was a very beautiful girl back then in college, she was in the same class as Jeffery. Everywhere you see Jeffery, look beside him there must be wealth. We all believed that they were dating, because of the way they where always together.

 Wealth and I never dated, he replied. I mean she was my close friend and when the rumor about us started spreading she asked that I play along. I accepted because I didn't want any distraction. Jeffery replied. I was very happy to hear this.

 He helped my hands and looked me in the eyes I've always loved you right from when we where in high school, down to college but I couldn't tell you because I wanted to achieve my dreams. I think fate brought us together to make things right. Ember he said in a romantic voice. " Be my woman" . I want you to be my girlfriend he replied.

 This is what I wanted right, I mean I was supposed to be happy right. But I carried my bag and ran away.
