The Escape Plan

Kaelen stumbled through the corridors of the Vigilant, his mind still clouded by the presence of the entity. The whispers were constant now, never stopping, always there. He could feel it watching him, waiting for him to slip.

But he refused to give in.

He needed to find Mira. If there was any part of her left, any shred of her humanity, he would save her. He had to.

The ship had become a maze, each corridor seeming to twist and change, the walls warping and shifting like the very fabric of reality was being rewritten. It was impossible to tell where he was anymore. But he kept going, driven by a single thought: to save Mira, to stop the entity.

He finally found her, her body lying motionless in the central chamber. The energy from the core had consumed her, her body still, lifeless. But her eyes... her eyes were different. There was something there, something human, still struggling to break free from the grip of the entity.

Kaelen knelt beside her, his hand shaking as he reached out to touch her face.

"Mira… please. I'm not going to let you go."

But the entity was already stirring again, its presence filling the room. It was watching them, waiting for the right moment to strike.
