Drew’s POV
I’d only been gone three days — a quick trip to New York with Jeremy for a meeting — but it felt like forever. Sitting on the plane back, I couldn’t stop thinking about Audrey. About how things had felt strained between us. I’d given her the space she needed before I left, no pressure, just a hug — a simple embrace that said everything without words. No kisses, no promises. Just a silent I’m here.
But was that enough? I wasn’t sure.
The end of the year was coming, Christmas was near, and it made me want to fix things more than ever. Audrey felt like home. She was my anchor. And I couldn’t leave for the tour without making sure we were alright.
“What’s on that restless mind of yours?” Jeremy nudged me.
“Just… a lot to think about,” I sighed. “We had a fight before I left. You know how I get sometimes — my mouth runs before my brain can catch up.”
He snickered. “Sometimes?”
“Oh, come on,” I groaned.
