"That's all for now, class dismissed." The man with an eyepatch said as everyone started packing up thier hings and prepare to leave.
"Damn, I am so sweaty, let's go have some ice cream, what you say Liam?" A boy said to me as I smiled, "Naa, I will practice a bit more." I said as he raised an eyebrow.
"You sure?"
"Yea,"
"Well, then take care..." He said as he waved his hand before leaving.
"Now then," I said, as I looked at the sword toid by my waist as I slowly took that out of its stealth, as I slightly rubbed the blade of the long dark sword in my hand.
It was sharp... it felt cold, kinda nice... and dangerous.
A sword specially prepared by master... It's speciality? You can cover it with your mana and execute a spell through the sword, not only making it a bit suprising but also more powerful.
Of course it not something easy to do, as you first have to make something similar to mana pathway in the sword to be able to successfully execute it and I have been trying to do that for a month now but haven't progressed much.
'Slash,' I thought, and took a step forward, swinging it down hard as the sound of it cutting the air was heard, giving me a strange kind of satisfaction.
"Again," I muttered lightly as I took a step back, 'Stab,' I thought to myself and pushed the sword forward fast, as if I am stabbing in someone's heart.
After that I stepped back again and took a deep breath, changing my stance by a bit.
'Side slash,' I thought, swinging it to the side as I pictured someone standing there, and my blade cutting right through him, unfortunately there was no one there... A pity.
"Faster… stronger…" I whispered to myself as I tightened my grip on the sword and... 'Slash… stab… spin… block…' Those words kept repeating in my head as I repeatedly do one move after another.
Soon, my arms started felling heavy, as I lost a bit of my momentum by a bit but I kept going.
"Focus," I told myself as I tried a quick combo... a diagonal slash, a stab, a spin, then a block.
However, even though I successfully executed that move but still... something felt missing... as if... as if that move was lacking somehow?
But what was missing? I don't kn-
"I would have blocked that easily, you know?" Someone said, as I turned to look at the door of the training hall.
Where a blue haired boy was standing, looking at me with a light blue hairs and blue eyes was standing there, it was Watson... Harry Watson.
"Well, just block is an understatement, dodge? Parry? No, I would just stab your heart before the sword even reach me." He said with a chuckle as I narrowed my eyes at him.
"And why are you so sure about th-" Before I could say anything tho, a sword was making its way towards my neck, making me to be quick on my feet as I take a step back before hastly blocking that somehow.
"Come on!" Watson shouted, rushing at me again, as he lifted his sword and swing it down, directly aimed at my head as I barely managed to block... even that made my arms shake like mad.
The difference in our power was just that grade since physically, I could never surpass what could be called the limit of human body and if not for him holding back, I might never be able to block that attack.
"Nice, but you're too slow!" he said with a laugh as Harry twisted his sword in a weird manner, as if it slipped passed my sword like water and almost stabbed me right in the ribs.
With a quick step back, jumped slightly and watched him from a distance, with heavy breathing I kept my eyes on him as I finally made my move.
"Bro, you're thinking way too much," he said, blocking my slash easily like it was nothing before slashing back at me. "A sword fight ain't a math test, you know? You just gotta move!"
"Shut up!" I yelled at him, somehow blocking his attack and stabbing at his head as he stopped it, making a widen my eyes as he hit the tip of my sword with his, slashing his blade against mine causing sparks to flew and then, Harry tapped my forehead with the tip of his sword.
"Dead," he said, grinning like an idiot making me kinda irritated at his ethics... As well as my loss.
"Ugh," I lowered my sword, wiping away the sweat which was dripping down my face as I looked at him again as watson tilted his head, looking all smug.
"You practice alone too much, don't you? That's your problem." He said as I didn't say anything, just stared at the floor, gripping my sword tighter.
"You can do all the combos you want, but if you don't fight real people, you'll never get it," he said, poking my shoulder with his sword. "Timing, pressure, real reactions… you only learn them all only in the heat of the battle you know"
I took a deep breath as I looked at my hand gripping in my sword... All those hours swinging this thing alone alone… Damn, that was it, huh?
After a few more seconds, I looked up at him, straight in his blue eyes before, "Again," I said, as Watson's grin got even bigger. "Haha. Yea, that's the spirit mate, here I come!"
This time when he came at me, as something clicked in my mind.
As I looked at him coming at me, I wasn't overthinking... I just moved... Block, dodge, counter.... Again and again.
I still got hit a few times, but it felt real.
It felt right.
It was at moment I ffinally got it…
What I needed wasn't some find perfect move or combo that overwhelms the opponent...
I just needed someone to fight.
Suddenly, I vanished from Harry's line of sight making him a bit started before he felt cold metal on his neck as he smiled... "You win..."
