Ch 22

"Why did you help me?" I asked, as changed back to my school uniform, as I looked at Harry again, that bastard was showing off his Greek god body, and why the fuck is he so handsome?!

"Well, I thought it would be intresting?" He said with a thoughtful expression as he nods to himself, "I mean? When was last time you saw a mage tryna become a swordsman? Isn't this shit intresting?" He asked me nodding to himself.

"Um, I still don't know what you mean tho,"

"Well, doesn't matter, see you soon mate!" He said before leaving in the opposite direction as I looked at his back for a while before walking the other way.

'I finally mastered it huh,' I thought to myself, still thinking about the move I pulled up against Harry.

Using hear control of my body, I produced a lot of sweat and not only convered my body but also the sword with my sweat without letting him know of it.

After that, i started to execute Reflection spell through the sword, in an attempt to make it go invisible and myself too with its help.

It took me a long while to successfully execute it but if not for him, it would have taken me a few more weeks honestly so I am quite grateful to him for helping me with that to be honest.

'I gotta name that move too,' i thought to myself as I smiled and giggled, clearly in good mood and just then...

"Liam!!" Suddenly, Mira appreared which made me suprised, "You haven't gone back home yet?" I asked her.

"Nope, I was waiting for you actually," she said as I paused and just look at her, "Oh… sorry I kept you waiting," I said, scratching the back of my head as she giggled.

"It's fine! By the way, should we visit the orphanage today? It's been a while since we saw everyone, Alex must be missing you, you must visit him more for real."

Listening to her lecturing me, I just smiled, as I kept nodding to her without even thinking. "Of course I will! Now let's go. I bet they all miss you more than me anyway... Even Alex." I said with a chuckle.

"Ha! Maybe," Mira said as she laughed lightly, bumping her shoulder against mine as we started walking together.

The evening wind felt nice as I took a deep breath, inhaling the fresh air while looking at the the sky, as if slowly turned all orange and pink while we walk.

Not gonna lie, but all of it was kinda peaceful, just us walking side by side like this like this as I wished to myself for times like this to continue.

"Ah!! Look!!" Mira suddenly shouted making me snap out of my thoughts as I looked at her pointing at a pastry shop across the street.

"They have new strawberry tarts today!!" She said and before I could even react or say something to her, she was already dragging me there.

"Hey, slow down! You act like a kid sometimes," I said to her as we entered the shop together hand in hand, mostly her pulling me as she looked back.

"But sweets are life!!" she said with while shotting me a glare, which made me laugh a little at her as we made our order.

Oh, and Mira didn't order like one or two but more like, half of the the menu as I just sat there looking at her and shaking my head.

"You really love sweet stuff, huh," I said, watching her take a big bite of a cream puff with her eyes sparkling like she just found treasure.

"Obviously! Life's too boring without desserts, you know? As boring as you." she mumbled with her mouth full, making me half understand and half don't of what he was saying.

Looking at her eating and the cake on her cheeck, I couldn't help but chuckle slightly as I leaned forward and gently wiped away the cream off her cheek with my thumb.

The sudden action of mine made her freaze like a statue for a second, as she just looked at me with her eyes widening a bit... She looked just so cute right now, even sweeter than these sweets right now.

"There, all clean," I said softly, holding back a smile as I watch herr face slowly turn red as she looked away, trying to hide her bashful expression as she pretended to focus on her sweets instead.

"Th-thanks…" she said lightly as we both went quiet for a second, the world around us kinda fading out.

Then she took another bite, trying to act normal again as I too took a bite of my sweets... they felt bland.

After that pastry stop, we finally got to the orphanage and the second we stepped inside, a bunch of kids came running at us, yelling and jumping like crazy.

"Big sis Mira!!"

"Liam!!"

Mira got snatched up by a bunch of girls right away as hey dragged her off to show her some new crafts or whatever and she soon after waving at me while getting pulled away.

After being left alone in the orphanage, I looked around and indeed there were a lot of new faces here, almost everyone here was new face if I have to say and soon, I spotted Alex sitting alone in the garden, beside his sword as if he was taking a break from his practice.

As I walked towards him slowly, he indeed felt my presence and as he turned towards me and his face lit up. "Brother!!" He said as he stood up as I toowent over and gave him a big hug, messing up his hair like always.

"Long time no see, huh?" I said, as I sighed lightly, kids indeed grow fast... Just look at me, he now look even stronger than me, physically of course.

"Yeah… missed you, brother. Took you a while to come visit me." he said, giving me a light punch on the arm as I just said sorry before laughing off and started chatting.

Soon, wee went inside to eat lunch together... It was just the usual simple food, but for some reason, it always tasted better here, maybe because it felt like home or maybe because I'm eating with Alex I don't know, but I sure enjoyed the meal.

While I was eating tho, I noticed Alex just playing with his food, looking all spaced out which made me wonder if he got a crush on someone or something like that.

"Oi, what's up with you today? You look all dead in there." I asked, raising an eyebrow as Alex let out a big sigh. "I dunno… just feeling a bit down." He said.

"Down? Why? Someone scolded you again or something?" I asked, kinda joking still thinking that's it's indeed some love problem or something but...

It wasn't... As Alex shook his head, with his eyes still looking at his plate, he said, "No… it's just that… you know Ben, Mika, and Taro? They got adopted last night and they left just like that... didn't even say goodbye or something."

He said as I stopped chewing, kinda suprised. "Huh? For real?" I said and immediately remember Ben, the skinny guy with a Low level blessing in water, he failed at second blessing but was still hopeful...

He was a good guy, I still remember him, mostly because of that golden eye of his, that's a rare eye colour.

"Yeah… they just left. I thought they'd at least tell me, you know? We always talked about leaving together one day," he said, his voice super low and downcast, it was clear he misses them.

As I looked at him, my eyes narrowed as I started feeling weird... It did sound kinda sus… but…

I let out a small sigh and tried to smile and finally said, "Well… maybe they didn't get a chance, you know how adoption stuff can be. It happens fast sometimes."

"Yeah… maybe," he mumbled lightly, still not really buying it but still nods and I felt the same honestly, but I just didn't wanna make him feel worse.

What do you want me to say? Let's go on and investigate this? Complain to someone or something? Naa leave it, not like anything gonna happed if I do or I didn't anyways.

Thinking so, I reached out my hand and messed up his hair again. "Hey, don't act all moody now. You still got me, yeah?" I said as I smiled as he looked up at me and finally gave a tiny smile.

"Yeah… thanks, brother." He said as I chuckled, "Good," saying so with a grin, I picked up some meat from his plate and said, "Now hurry up and eat before I steal your food."
