Wrath Falls, Sloth Rises

Chapter 14: Wrath Falls, Sloth Rises

Wrath towered like a juggernaut—muscles bulging, skin like steel, veins glowing red with rage. Each of his punches shattered the earth, each roar sent shockwaves through the air.

Captain Elara gritted her teeth, dodging back.

"His attacks aren't fast… but he's a wall!" she muttered.

Synoh dashed in from the right, his Shadow Dance swordplay creating arcs of black light. Even with his precise slashes, Wrath's body barely reacted.

Dred leapt in behind him, drills spinning like turbines.

"I'll pierce him!" he shouted.

CRACK! His magic drill struck Wrath's side—leaving a small puncture. The first visible damage.

"He's not invincible! Piercing attacks work!" Elara called.

"Penetration-type attacks… so that's the key!" Synoh shouted.

Without missing a beat, the three of them formed up—Elara igniting her blade with lightning and wind, Dred spinning both drills at maximum speed, and Synoh cloaking his sword in condensed shadow mana.

"Now!"

A coordinated strike—drill, magic, and blade—pierced Wrath's chest. The monstrous man let out a thunderous scream as the impact sent him crashing into the ground, unmoving.

Cut to the Watching Sins

From afar, hidden atop a crumbled wall, Lust, Greed, Gluttony, and Envy watched the scene unfold.

Lust licked her lips. "Mmm... That boy with the sword. I like his style~ He can dance with me anytime."

Greed scoffed, his arms full of stolen gold and weapons. "Tch,they're too strong. I say we cut our losses."

Gluttony sniffed the air, annoyed. "That girl with the mud magic and aluminum boy... I bet they tastes sweet and spicy. I'm going back down there!"

Envy (Kalea) clutched her bleeding arm, breathing heavily after her exhausting battle with Ursa. "They're strong... too strong. This isn't going like we planned." (it the second time she retreat after wrath got defeated)

They glanced at each other, an unspoken tension in the air.

"Should we tell him?" Greed asked.

Kalea narrowed her eyes. "...No. He's already watching."

Dungeon Collapse & Sloth Awakens

Just then, the dungeon trembled violently. Cracks spiderwebbed across its surface, glowing with crimson light.

BOOOOM!

The entire structure exploded, debris raining down as a shockwave rippled through the battlefield.

And from the swirling dust, a shadowy figure emerged—a man with shaggy black hair, yawning as he scratched his head.

His cloak fluttered lazily behind him, eyes half-lidded with boredom.

"Took you all long enough…" he muttered, voice slow and dry.

Kuro. The real Sloth. S-rank adventurer... and secret puppet master.

He stretched, bones cracking.

"Let's get this over with. I've got a nap to finish."
