=Ashira's POV=
You know, being his son, I feel like it's my duty to at least do something like breaking them up, or confronting him about bringing me here just so he can show me the woman he's been cheating on my mom with. But thinking back on it, none of that makes any sense, and there gotta be some sort of misunderstanding happening.
Fortunately before I could exacerbate the problem any further, a young boyish voice rang out, annoyance tinting in his voice. "Nee-chan!!! You're making the man uncomfortable."
That seemed to jolt the woman out of her full body cuddle sesh, as she pulled away from my father with rose tinted cheeks, and said. "I'm sorry Shira-nii, that was improper of me. It's just been so long since we've met."
Ok, I'm taking all that back, there's definitely something going on between the two of them, at least for the blonde beauty. I mean just look at her…The woman looks like she's reuniting with her distant lover just from all those longing, and joys in her eyes. My father should be able to see that right? No one is that dense… Right?
"Haha it has been too long hasn't it? Last we met, you were just yee tall, and fresh out of the academy. Now look at you, a fully grown woman, and a freshly minted jonin to boot." My father said, right hand raised up to his waist, laughing nostalgically, completely oblivious to the blonde's hidden feeling.
Ok maybe he is that dense, I thought. Opening my mouth to stop this farce from going on any longer, before I was interrupted by the homewrecker. "Umu, I'm a grown woman now!!! I won't lose to her anymore." Whispering the last part silently, She took a pause before continuing. "Anyway, do you know why grandma called you over? She's been a bit secretive about it."
Nodding his head with some uncertainty Father responded. "I know it has something to do with Ashira, but nothing beyond that no. Oh speaking of Ashira, this here is my son, my pride and joy." pulling me by the shoulder to the front of the blonde bimbo, he continued, speaking to me. "And this here, Ashira, is Tsunade Senju, the woman I consider to be a younger sister even if not by blood. So do be respectful to her, do you understand?"
Nodding my head and smiling innocently, while inwardly thinking of ways to keep this bimbo away from father, my brain short circuited at the mention of her name. "Wait Tsunade Senju? The granddaughter of Hashirama Senju, student of the third Hokage Sarutobi Hiruzen, and the current foremost leading expert of Iryo Ninjutsu in Konoha, that Tsunade Senju?" I asked, disbelief colouring my face.
Taking a closer look at the woman, I can now see the resemblance from that gambling addict of a Hokage in canon. Blonde shoulder length hair that parted above her forehead, brown eyes, and fair skin as white as pearl, and the most eye catching features of all, two enormous gravity defying tits that would make any man take a second pause, the woman is the perfect picture of a younger version of Tsunade. The only obvious difference I can see right now is the single high-tied ponytail, and the lack of the rhombus shaped yin seal on her forehead.
Looking down at me fondly, The now identified Tsunade said with a hint of sadness, and regret in her voice. "Hello Ashira-kun, just like your father said, I'm Tsunade Senju, but you can just call me Tsunade-nee. Your father and I go wayyy back when we were kids, so don't feel awkward around me ok?"
"How could I do that lady Tsunade? You are the granddaughter of Hashirama sama, my senior in the ninja's art, and a jonin of the leaf. It would be improper, and disrespectful of me to refer to you as such." I said, shaking my head, trying to be as formal, and distant as possible. No matter who she is, the woman is clearly trying to seduce my father. As a filial son, I would never let anyone disrespect my mother like that.
Ruffling my hair roughly, Father interrupted my blunt rejection before the conversation could turn awkward. "Don't take it to heart little Tsuna, the kid is a stickler for rules and proprietary. A side effect of being around his elders a lot, I reckon."
Shaking her head dejectedly, Tsunade said. "No it's ok, Shira-nii, it was me who was being too aggressive." Kneeling down to meet my eyes, Tsunade's breasts squished against her knees, further accentuating her exaggerated curves, as she asked. "It's ok if you don't feel comfortable around me. But if you need help with anything, just reach out to me through Nawaki, since you are both in the same class. I'll try my best to fulfill your request, ok?"
Nodding my head at her puppy eyes, and gentle tone I gave her a whispered "ok", while inwardly cursing my weak will, and thanking kami for the fact that I still haven't hit puberty.
Satisfied at my reply, Tsunade turned around and gestured to Nawaki to come closer. "Nawaki, come here, and say hi to Hashira-nii, and Ashira."
The now identified Nawaki with his hair down, who's annoyed expression has been marring his face since the start of the conversation softened at his sister's words, before turning stoic when he faced us. "Nawaki Senju, nice to meet you both."
"Nice to meet you as well Nawaki, you may not know me, but I used to live here with my parents. Some stuff happened after that that made me move out, but as you've already guessed, I'm a good friend of your sister." Replied father, with me also giving some formal platitudes in return,
Bowing in respect, Nawaki then turned to his sister and said impatiently "Nee nee, nee-san, we should really get going now. You promised to show me some earth release jutsu, plus we shouldn't keep them away from grandma any longer."
Nodding his head in agreement, my father said with a gentle smile on his lips "Well we shouldn't be keeping grandma Mito waiting any longer. It was nice to see you Tsuna, but we better get going." before forcing me to say goodbye, and walking toward the big manor in the middle of the compound.
"Wait Shira-nii!!!" Yelled out a flustered Tsunade, stopping us in our step, before she spoke. "Are you coming back to visit later? It's been so long since you've been back, and your old house is still the same when you left. I made sure of it"
Shaking his head, Father replied with a hint of loss in his tone. "That house stopped being my home a long time ago, Tsuna… but if you'd like, we can always meet later to talk."
Brightening at my father's invitation Tsunade replied "Absolutely!! I'm also a jonin now, maybe we can even take on missions together!! Plus we can meet up and have shared training sessions with Nawaki, and Ashira together."
Smiling at her enthusiasm, father nodded. "Uhm, just talk to Yasuka at the hospital whenever you're free. She'll help you reach me in case you don't see me at the jonin's lounge or the mission's hall."
Tsunade's expression dimmed a little at the mention of mother's name, before a determined look returned to her face as she nodded with a confident grin, and said "You bet I will, cya later Shira-nii."
Walking forward, and leaving the waving figure of the Senju's siblings behind, I asked father hesitantly. "Dad, why did you never mention knowing lady Tsunade, and living at the Senju compound? Did you also know Hashirama sama when he was alive? How about Tobirama sama?"
Smiling forlornly, father replied. "Let's just say some stuff happened that made me regret doing, and not doing some things. But that's all in the past now, and I got you and mom now, so you don't have to worry about it."
Taking father's hint to not pry any further, I could only tighten my hold on father's hand in reassurance as we walked in comfortable silence, before coming to a stop at the large manor at the center of the compound.
A grey blur, too fast for my eyes to catch, flashed in front of us as out came an anbu with the Senju's symbol carved onto his mask. "Greeting Bull, how have you been?" said father, nodding his head. Judging from the nonchalant attitude on his face, he probably expected, or knew the anbu was close the whole time.
"So you really came, you ungrateful bastard, and with your own spawn no less? I still can't believe the brat who used to beg me for Manju is now the big bad Crimson Chain Oni." Said the masked anbu, totally ignoring my father's greeting.
"And I can't believe an old coot like you is still on the force." My father bit back, glaring at the old man.
"I might be old, aye. But I can still cut through 5 of you like I'm carving a cake." Challenged the anbu, tensions rising every second, as I fell naturally into my taijutsu stance, prepared for the unexpected battle. The tense silence went on for what felt like hours before both of them bursted out in laughter as they launched forward, and gave each other a bear hug.
Letting out a sigh of relief that I didn't know I was holding, I heard the bull masked anbu said. "It's been too long, brat, but you're finally back where you belonged. Haruto would be proud to see the man you have become."
"Sad to say, but I'm not here to stay. Just have some stuffs to settle with lady Mito, plus she wanted to meet my son. Even I would not be so cruel as to deny her that." Responded father, shaking his head.
Nodding his head in understanding, the anbu waved his hand in dismissal before saying. "Even if you're not back permanently, just being back here is enough." Turning to look at me, the man ruffled my spiky hair roughly before he laughed heartily, and said. "And you, young man, are a carbon copy of your father. Minus the hair of course, but that face is just like Hashira, and his father before him. I heard that you put an Uchiha in the dirt. If so, you are truly worthy of the Senju blood running through your veins, putting those arrogant red eye bastards in their place."
Acting as polite as possible despite my internal seething at getting my hair abused nonstop today, I picked up what the anbu said, minus the minor racism, surprise coloring my face. With the question about my heritage on the tip of my tongue, my father cleared his throat to get my attention and shaked his head with a look that said "we'll talk about this later".
Noticing the tension that arose after his statement, the anbu scratched his head awkwardly before changing the topic. "Uh, anyway I think I've held on to both of you long enough. Lady Mito is currently with her ward in the library, do you need me to guide you?"
"Unless lady Mito has finally decided to renovate this kami cursed manor in some way, I'm pretty sure I know the room where I spent countless hours being tortured by old tomes, and outdated lessons in." Father replied sarcastically before bowing to the anbu, and led me into the manor.
"So… I'm a Senju huh?" I said after we're far enough away from prying ears, curiosity tinting my voice.
"Your grandfather was a Senju, yes. I was supposed to take his name when my mother married into the clan, but I changed it back after he passed… for personal reasons." Answered Father, looking into empty spaces, at a tragic distant past that he long left behind.
Sighing wistfully, I walked next to father, and squeezed his hand tight in reassurance, before we both walked in a comfortable silence, simply enjoying each other's company, and the view of the old, but well-maintained structure. Finally arriving at a big Shoji sliding door after passing through ancient carvings of dragons, Kijins, and a whole myridas of other eastern mythical beasts lining the wooden railways on our way through the hall, Father yelled out loudly. "Lady Mito, it is I Hashira Uzumaki, son of Haruto Senju, bringing his own son, and heir Ashira Nara to pay your respects."
"You both may come in." An aged, feminine voice dignifiedly rang out, neither too loud nor too soft, as father took a bow, and slid open the Shoji giving me the view of rows after rows of wooden book cases. With the smell of old paper, and scented oil lingering in the air, we stepped into the room, me closing the door after, before we walked to the side, arriving next to two distinct figures one with bright red mane, the other with reddish brown, both sitting in a seiza position on the tatami floor, behind a short wooden table.
"It's been too long, lady Mito. I hope all is well with you." Coming right next to an old brown haired woman with two buns on both sides of her head, looking as stoic as a statue, my father greeted politely.
"You're late, boy. I expected better from Tsuyu's son." Lady Mito reprimanded, a stern frown donning her face.
Smiling crookedly at the stern woman, my father replied in defense of himself. "Apologies Mito sama, we were held back by a couple of people. It will not happen again."
Narrowing her eyes intensely at my father, the woman shook her head in resignation before asking. "Was one of those people Tsunade?"
"Yes she was, but do forgive little Tsuna, Mito sama. It's been so long since she's met her "older brother". I think that warrants some leniency from some of her excitement." Defended my father, once again clueless about that broad's crush on him.
"So she still can't let go huh… that silly girl, she will only hurt herself if she keeps on being stubborn." Said lady Mito, disappointment, and sadness filling her voice.
Having no idea what she meant, Father asked. "Pardon?"
Suddenly turning toward my father at his question, Lady Mito's eyes narrowed in what I could only describe as a hawk-like fashion, as her Irises turned into slits. A tense silence descended upon the room. Then came the yelling, oh so much yelling. "And you!!! Why are you so dumb huh? Just like Hashirama, and Haruto, and Tobirama, why are all you Senju men so dumb when it comes to this kind of thing? Why did the sage bless you all to be exceptionally competent shinobies, but give you all zero tack to understand women, and their feelings huh?…" the yelling eventually turned into a one sided beating, as my father took all those abnormally powerful hits coming out of one so advanced in age with a confused expression on his face.
Snickering at the side at this well deserved beating, I observed in satisfaction as I thought about how one can be so blind as to not know if a woman is coming onto you? I may not have had any relationships in my past life due to my studies, and work, but even I am not dense enough to not recognize all those signs a woman is sending me, right? Snapping out of my thoughts by a tug on my right sleeve, I looked down to see a confused, yet strangely happy Kushina pointing at the ongoing beatdown.
"Sup" I whispered, raising my left hand in greeting.
"Aren't you going to stop them, also You're an Uzumaki?!?" Whispered Kushina in reply, before yelling the last part in surprise.
That seemed to snap Mito out of her violence session, as she looked at the two of us, and paused awkwardly, before adjusting her white kimono, and accessories, before walking back to her seat, acting like nothing happened, leaving the bruised, and battered form of my father on the floor.
"That is correct Kushina, Ashira here is the grandson of a dear friend of mine, who herself is an Uzumaki. Her name was Tsuyu Uzumaki." Said Mito sama with a fond smile on her face after settling onto her zabuton cushion.
Oh why the hell not, shrugging my shoulders, and ignoring my beat up father, I pried further into this never before mentioned grandmother of mine. "Excuse me Mito sama, but you kept mentioning this Tsuyu woman who is presumably my grandmother who I had no idea about. That, and this Haruto who I think is my grandfather"
"Hashira didn't tell you about your grandparents?" Asked a confused Mito who seemed to get angrier by the seconds. Sending a quick prayer to father, I nodded my head which elicited a sad sigh from her before she shook her head and responded. "You deserve to hear this from your father, regardless of his trauma, it is your right. I won't tell you much about your grandmother, but I'll make him do it, so don't worry. Just know that Tsuyu was an incredible woman, with nerves of steel, and fire in her veins. And she's also a good friend of mine. Which is why I'm calling you here today."
"Uh what about grandfather?" I interrupted, finding it odd how she glosses over grandad so quickly.
To which she responded bluntly. "Who? Haruto? He's as dumb as a brick, and brash, and abrasive. But enough about him, I called you over today to teach you fuinjutsu. Should you be interested in learning the art of course."
And just like that, any ounce of curiosity left for my probably deceased grandparents dried up as the chance of learning the famed and revered art of fuinjutsu from an Uzumaki seal grandmaster appeared in front of me. But then it hit me, if I'm gonna spend part of my focus on fuinjutsu, I'm gonna have to drop one of my other specializations that I'm currently working on. And as much as I would like to rewrite reality with what to me is just gibberish writings using chakra magic bullshit, I'll probably need to spend my entire lifetime working on this. An entire lifetime that I just don't have with wars after wars just around the corner.
So with great regrets, and reluctance apparent on my face, I said. "It would be a great honored to learn fuinjutsu from yo-…" before being tackled by a 50 pound red ball of flesh, and pure excitement.
"Hehehehehehe… that means we can spend more time together." Snickered, and mumbled a drooling Kushina who's throwing herself right on top of me.
"I get that yo-you're excited Ku-shina, but let me finish. Also, are you drool-drooling on my head?" I struggled to get out as I'm being smothered by her chest with red hairs everywhere on my face.
"Enough Kushina, let the boy finish." Mito sama's stern voice rang out, snapping Kushina out of her excitement as she settled down right onto her cushion, face blushing the same shade as her hair. This girl… I swear. I get that she's most likely lonely, and friends starved but that was kinda extreme. Probably some sort of chakra induced rush like a sugar crush kids get when they get too much sugar without any way to work it off. I guess I will have to introduce her to the group at some point. If only they stop stalking us.
Thanking Mito while pulling out some of my napkins from the shadow inside my pocket, I wiped away the drools on my head as I continued. "Just like I said, it would be an honor to learn fuinjutsu from you lady Mito. But I have too many commitments right now on my plate, and to drop one of them at the first sign of something better coming along… It just doesn't seem right to me. I get that you are likely a very good friend with my late grandmother, and I am grateful for the opportunity. But I just can't accept fuinjutsu lessons from you right now Mito sama." Bowing my head in apology.
Nodding her head in approval, Mito responded. "That is an admirable trait to have, child. To be firm in your convictions even in the face of temptations." Taking a pause, she turned her gaze to an embarrassed, and sullen Kushina, before a knowing smirk donned her face as Mito continued. "With that said, you don't have to commit to fuinjutsu. Just knowing the basic working of a seal could be life or death on a battlefield, spending one or two hours a week is enough for that."
That seemed to brighten up Kushina, as she nodded her head rapidly, and kept on tugging my hand with those puppy eyes on her face. "But to waste just one or two hours of your day a week teaching me the basics of fuinjutsu is too much for me to ask of you, lady Mito." I said hesitantly, afraid to take more time from the already busy matriarch of the Senju clan.
"Oh you don't have to worry about that, I would love to tutor the grandson of Tsuyu even if it's for an hour a week. But if it troubled you that much, then Kushina here can teach you in my stead." Replied lady Mito, pointing toward an eager, and beaming Kushina.
"Are you sure about this Kushina? I'd hate to be a bother." I asked Kushina more out of politeness than anything, considering how happy she looked.
"Umu, I'm sure I can teach you fuinjutsu if grandma Mito is busy. 'Just like the saying usually say, "It's better to teach than to learn after all."" Said Kushina, nodding her head in confidence, completely butchering the saying.
"I think it's, "the best way to learn something is to teach it.", but you got the spirit." I said, sweat dropping at this over excited little girl.
"Well now that you agree, we can start right away if you're down for it?" Mito interjected, getting a nod from me, before she turned toward Kushina and asked. "Well now Kushina, tell me what is fuinjutsu."
"Etto… fuinjutsu is the art of sealing or restricting pretty much anything, from objects, jutsus to even concepts inside a container, and once again said containers can be anything. Of course, the more abstract or powerful the thing you want to seal away is, or the further away something from the concept of the container is, the harder it is for you to seal, or restrict it." Finished Kushina looking expectantly at lady Mito.
Nodding her head proudly at Kushina, lady Mito said. "A very well done simplification of the art that is fuinjutsu Kushina. Any question Ashira?"
"That's a lot more… restrictive than I thought it was." I said unsurely, afraid to insult the Uzumaki pair.
"From a novice prospective, it probably is. Did you think that fuinjutsu involves rewriting reality using specific sequences of kanji?" Asked Mito sama gently, to which I nodded, as she continued. "Well, just like Kushina said, fuinjutsu focus on sealing, or restricting pretty much anything from leaving, or being displaced from the sealer's designated container. And to achieve all of that, we use sequences of kanji that's arranged to enforce our desired effect. That said, each kanj has different meanings for different users. That means that even if the same seal sequence is used by two different people, it will produce different effects, strength, and intensity depending on the user. So to sum it up, fuinjutsu is not only stringing kanji together, creating a seal script, but it also involves giving that script your own meaning, your own intent, thereby creating the desired effects. Do you understand?"
"I think I get it. It's similar to painting in a way. All artists use similar standard techniques like layering or dry brushing, but if asked to paint something given the same color selection, canvas, prompt, or themes, each person will create a different version of their picture based on their own personalities, experiences, and etc…" I said, trying to explain it as clearly as I could.
"That is exactly how fuinjutsu is like. With a bit more precision than painting of course, but a good metaphor nonetheless." Praised Mito, before she continued her lecture. "That said, just like how any painter needs good basic fundamentals, a fuinjutsu user needs to be able to write their kanji as uniformly as possible. For even if there is a minimal difference between two instances of the same kanji letter in a seal sequence, the seal will malfunction even if you have the correct intent, and seal script. So the first lesson for all fuinjutsu users is writing kanjis."
Finishing the lecture with a cruel smile on her face, Mito sama took out a small paper with small black inked writing on it before sending her own chakra into the paper. A puff of smoke later, and before me appeared a set of writing kits, and a stack of blank paper as high as one third my body.
Already dreading what's about to happen, I listened fidgetly as Mito sama said. "And for your first lesson, Ashira. You will be practicing all your kanji letters until Kushina deems it satisfactory."
Springing on my feet, I protested. "But there are more than tens of thousands kanji, how can I possibly do that?"
"Well you would be glad to know that for fuinjtusu, we do not use all the kanji letters, only about 4-5000 are commonly used after all. So try your best, I gotta take your father to Tsunade before he bleeds out though so Kushina will look after you while I'm gone cya." And just like that, the dastardly woman took my father, gift wrapped him, and shipped him to the blonde bimbo, while I'm stuck with a small mountain of things to do, and an overexcited Kushina, who is strangely extra touchy today.
=3rd Person's POV=
Dragging a half dead Hashira out along the hallway, Mito finally stopped before an empty room, before throwing him roughly inside of it.
"You can stop pretending now, brat. You wouldn't be able to live this long if you can't even take a couple dozen punches from this fragile old woman." Scoffed Mito haughtily, before walking into the room, passing the battered and bruised form of Hashira, toward the raised seat on the far wall.
Sitting down on the slightly raised platform, Mito raised a single eyebrow, as all the bruises, and injuries on Hashira disappeared in small smokeless pops, as Hashira himself slowly rose up from the floor.
"Sure it doesn't kill me, but it does hurt as hell you gorilla woman!!!" Groaned Hashira, turning toward Mito with an accusatory glare before wisely shutting his trap up at the menacing aura that is being exuded from the scary woman.
An exhausted sigh force itself out of Mito before she spoke up. "You have my apology Hashira for beating you up so roughly. You're just so frustrating sometimes."
Sweat dropping at the most sincere apology he's gonna get out of her, Hashira asked. "Anyway, why do you want to talk to me in private?"
Face turning serious at Hashria's question Mito responded. "Well before the serious matter is brought up, I have to ask, will you be willing to engage Ashira to Kushina?"
"Wait huh? What did you just say?" Hashira asked back as he was caught off guard by the sudden drastic turn of events.
"Do not make me repeat myself, are you willing to engage your son to my ward?" Repeated an irritated Mito
"Hold on to your horses for a second, when you say engage, you mean bethroe right? Like an arranged marriage or something?" Asked a flustered Hashira
"Exactly like that, Kushina is quite deeply in love with your son, or at least what counted as love nowaday for the younglings, and Ashira himself is not a bad match. You have raised him well, and I can see that the boy will be good to my niece."
Scratching his head goofily at the compliment, Hashira snapped out of his silly mood, before he asked. "Wait, the girl likes Ashria?"
"You and the rest of the Senju man… How can you all be so stupid. Yes the girl is smitten with him. Now will you give me your answer?" Asked a tired Mito, rubbing the bridge of her nose in frustration.
"Well uh… I can't really answer that for it's not just mine, and Yasuka's decision to make. Heck it's not even entirely Ashira's decision to make" Said a troubled Hashira, before slipping out the last part by accident.
"Uh… you didn't hear that, please ignore that." Turning nervous at the scrutinising gaze of the Senju matriarch, Hashira pleaded
"Can't decide it for himself? So the rumors are true? The boy is that important to your wife's clan as a whole." Mumbled Mito in contemplation. And like a lightbulb flashing in her mind, Mito raised her eyebrows in realiszation as she continued. "If the boy can't be married out without the clan's approval, it has to do with a kekkei genkai, but which one? Not any Uzumaki one that's for sure if you're willing to reject a marriage from a pureblood Uzumaki. Is it Mokuton? No, judging from your expression. But the Nara doesn't have any kekkei genkai. So it's either a mutated kekkei genkai, or an entirely new one?"
By the time Mito had finished her thoughts, Hashira's face was filled with despair as he kneeled down, head touching the wooden floor, and begged. "Oh revered elder, Matriarch of the Senju's clan, the world's greatest seal's mistress, I beg this of you. Please do not share your discovery with anyone, including the Nara. If they find out about any of this, I'm done for. Yasuka will kick me out of the house forever!!"
Laughing smugly at her spot on deduction, Mito responded "Pfft, as entertaining as that is to imagine, I'm not wicked enough to hold this over you. Your secret is safe with me." Eliciting a sigh of relief from Hashira, she continued with a heavy sigh of her own. "I did all I could for her, now it's up to Kushina to win Ashira's heart, even if the boy will be pressured by the clan to take multiple women to pass on this new bloodline limit of his. Nonetheless, I did not call you here only for an arranged marriage. Let me ask you this, and I want you to answer honestly, can I trust you?"
Looking at the sudden shift in Mito's demeanor, Hashira's relief expressions turned serious as he paused for a moment to think before speaking up. "If you're talking about any secrets you may hold, then no you can't trust me with them. Since if any of those secrets may prove detrimental to my family, I will not hesitate to act on the-."
"No, that's not what I'm asking for. I'm asking if I can trust you to protect Tsunade, Nawaki, Kushina, and the rest of the Senju's clan after my passing?" Interrupted Mito, before dropping a bombshell of a news.
Eyes widened in surprise, before smiling sadly in acceptance, Hashira thought out loud to himself "So it is almost time. I suspected it of course, with the transfer of Kushina to Konoha and all. But to bring the Sealing Mistress down this low? Truly time is merciless" Shaking his head, Hashira replied with determination marring his face. "If it's just that then yes, you can trust me to do everything in my power to protect the Senju, and your family."
"Good then marry Tsuna, you'll make a good consort to the clan's leader." Requested Mito, before she continued to explain while ignoring the shellshocked face of Hashira. "Tsunade has all it takes to be a good leader, but she's still too naive to be prepared for all the plots, and schemes hidden in politics. Nawaki is a smart boy, but he's facing a lot of pressure already from both the clan, and the village about awakening Hashirama's mokuton with his earth, and water affinity. The Senju clan is slowly declining, with the majority of civilians, and younger populations moving away, and assembling into the village, from both the wish of Hashirama, and the pressure applied by the Monkey. Speaking of the Monkey himself, He loves the village with all his heart, aye, but he inherited both of the worst traits of Senju's brothers. Saru got that stubborn streak from Tobirama, and is dead set on reducing major clan's influences, while centering said power on both the Hokage position, and the council body, not knowing that if this kept going, it could lead to a civil war within the leaf itself. Then there's his forgiving, soft hearted side that is often abused by that greedy bastard Danzo. The village is slowly rotting Hashira, and I can do nothing about it. So tell me, will you marry my Tsuna and help weather the Senju's clan from the storm that is on the horizon."
A long silence pause settled on the room, as Hashira's expression rapidly changed from shock, to pain, to shame then back to determination before he spoke up. "I can't marry Tsunade. I'm sorry, truly but Tsunade deserved more than a political marriage, she deserved more than marrying the man who will never be able to love her. She deserved to marry the man she loves. But I give you my word that I'll do anything in my power, even risking my life if I have to, to safeguards what both you and I cherish. So by the time you need to go, go in peace with the knowledge that I, Hashira Uzumaki, will never break my promise, for that is my Nindo."
Mito looked, really looked deep into his eyes, seemingly searching for something, and for a long time she just stared deep into those sparkling violet orbs before nodding her head, and smiling contently.
"I supposed that's all I'm gonna get out of you. Very well. Oh and before we return, do tell Ashira about his grandparents. He deserved to know, even if you have to relive that time all over again, Ashira deserved to know the sacrifices they made, even if you don't see it as such." Giving that last word, Mito left the room, leaving Hashira in silence to stew by himself.
A/N: this was originally gonna be like a 3k chapter max, then the juices started flowing, and I spiralled out a bit. Nevertheless I'm tired, and it's like 4 am in Japan rn, so I'm uploading this unedited chap rn, and edit it later.
