Sasame didn't answer Honoka's question. Instead, he clapped his hands together and entered Sage Mode right in front of her.

His perception sharpened instantly, and he sensed the abnormally vast amount of chakra within the girl before him.

Without a doubt, she was a survivor of the Uzumaki clan.

His sudden action made Honoka and the others instinctively step back, with two of them nearly forming hand seals.

After all, Sasame's previous display had been far too shocking.

The markings around his eyes faded.

Sasame spoke, "Are you a shinobi of the Uzumaki clan?"

"I'm not."

Honoka had clearly faced similar questions many times before, so her reply was calm and measured.

To be honest, without his heightened perception, even Sasame would have struggled to confirm her identity.

Red hair alone wasn't enough proof—there were plenty of redheaded shinobi in the world, like Sasori of the Red Sand or Tayuya.

"Then, do you know Kimimaro?"

Sasame didn't press the issue and instead asked another question.

A subtle shift flickered across Honoka's expression.

Kimimaro hadn't been seen in battle for a long time.

Logically, no one should have known he was here.

"I don't know him."

Honoka shook her head, her composure restored.

"I don't like people who lie to me."

A dangerous smile crept onto Sasame's face.

"Are you really determined to fight to the death?"

Honoka bit her lip and asked, "Are you from Kirigakure? Here to take Kimimaro back?"

At this point, hiding was pointless.

"Kimimaro must be in terrible condition if he hasn't shown himself even now."

Sasame watched Honoka's shocked expression and continued, "Staying here is a death sentence for him. But I can save him."

"How do you know about his illness?"

Honoka suspected a traitor among her own. As for the latter part of his claim, she didn't believe it.

Kimimaro's disease was incurable—a genetic affliction with no known cure.

And who could say if Sasame was telling the truth? What if this was all a trick?

"Such a hassle."

Sasame had no patience for this clever girl's games.

He clapped his hands together again, re-entering Sage Mode, and activated his Eternal Mangekyō Sharingan.

"Look here."

He snapped his fingers.

Instantly, everyone except Honoka collapsed under genjutsu.

"What did you do?!"

Honoka recoiled in shock.

She tried to form hand seals but found her body frozen.

Demonic Illusion: Tree Binding Death!

A massive tree emerged behind her.

Vines shot out from its trunk, wrapping around her and rendering her immobile.

Though only a B-rank jutsu, amplified by the Eternal Mangekyō Sharingan, its power was overwhelming.

"No! Don't kill him!"

Honoka screamed as Sasame walked toward Kimimaro's room.

"Who said anything about killing him?"

Sasame pushed the door open and saw Kimimaro lying on a sickbed—either asleep or unconscious.

He was hooked up to various medical devices, all of which looked shoddy, as if bought from a discount store.

Kimimaro's condition was far worse than in the original story.

Confirming he was still alive, Sasame nodded.

Turning back, he said, "You've seen my strength. Killing all of you would be trivial. Do you understand?"

Honoka shuddered and nodded hastily.

Sasame released the genjutsu.

The giant tree vanished, and the others slowly regained consciousness, confused by the situation.

"Bring Kimimaro out."

Sasame tilted his chin, issuing the order.

"Do as he says."

Seeing the others hesitate, Honoka quickly urged them.

Four men stepped forward, carrying Kimimaro—still on his sickbed—into the main hall.

"Pack your things. You're leaving."

Sasame paused, then added, "You have ten minutes."

"Go, now!"

Honoka barked before rushing into her own room. Moments later, she emerged dragging two large suitcases—filled not with clothes, but research materials and equipment.

With a flash of the Flying Thunder God Technique, Sasame transported everyone and everything to the Daimyō's estate in the Land of Waves.

A lab had already been constructed for Kabuto Yakushi, dubbed "Kabuto's Home."

Since Honoka was a rare scientific talent and Kimimaro was a valuable research subject, Sasame handed them over to Kabuto.

Interrupted mid-experiment, Kabuto eyed Honoka's youthful appearance skeptically.

He turned to Sasame. "This is the assistant you found for me?"

"Regardless of skill, having help is better than nothing."

Sasame coughed lightly.

Honoka, meanwhile, was completely lost. Her peaceful life had been upended in an instant.

Kabuto doubted her, and she doubted Kabuto—for the same reason.

Youth.

She didn't believe Kabuto could save Kimimaro.

And truthfully, he couldn't.

Even in the original story, neither Kabuto nor Orochimaru had managed to cure him.

Sasame could only let Kabuto try. If that failed, he'd resort to the universal solution—Fate Points.

[Due to your actions, Kimimaro's fate has changed. You have earned 37 Fate Points.]

[Due to your actions, Honoka's fate has changed. You have earned 50 Fate Points.]

The Wheel of Fate's notification chimed in Sasame's mind.

His spirits lifted immediately—with these 87 points, his total reached 3,901.

And the Sage Body required 3,900.

In other words, he was about to become unstoppable.

A Sage Body paired with the Eternal Mangekyō Sharingan would place him just half a step below the Sage of Six Paths himself.

Though he'd be left with only 1 Fate Point, it was worth it.

With the Sage Body, he could finally teach Tsunade a proper lesson.

Sasame's answer left Kabuto speechless.

But as for Kimimaro? Kabuto was delighted.

Another rare specimen—and one with a genetic disease, no less.

Kabuto didn't care if Kimimaro lived or died. In fact, the disease made him even more valuable as a research subject.

(Though keeping him alive would be ideal.)

After handing Honoka and Kimimaro over, Sasame washed his hands of the matter.

There was no point in staying—he couldn't contribute to the research anyway.

The Fate Points were secured. The rest was up to Kabuto.

Sasame returned to the cave.

With a flick of his wrist, he ignited the interior with flames before walking away.

"Did you wait long?"

Sasame spotted Mei Terumī leaning against the cave entrance, looking bored.

"Not at all."

Mei glanced at the fire inside. "Did you kill them all?"

"No."

Sasame saw no reason to lie. "Honoka's research skills seemed decent, so I sent her to my organization."

If Mei investigated, her ANBU would find no bodies anyway.

"With the rogue ninja dealt with, the next target is the Daimyō of Uzushiogakure."

Sasame pondered briefly. "I'll have someone handle that."

"So my mission's complete?"

Mei felt an unexpected pang of disappointment.

The whole affair had taken less than an hour.

But then she caught herself—

Why am I disappointed?

"Yeah, thanks for accompanying me today."

Sasame grinned. "The Mizukage's service was excellent. I'll be sure to request you again."

"It was nothing. Any genin could've done this. Why waste money on me?"

Mei ignored his teasing, her tone cool.

"Because the Mizukage is beautiful."

Sasame declared shamelessly. "All men appreciate beauty. I'm just an honest man."

"I'm leaving. Don't bother seeing me off."

Mei turned away, her cheeks faintly pink, and vanished from sight.

"Hey! You still owe me a song and dance!"

Sasame called after her, but there was no reply. "She's fast. I didn't even get to mention basketball."

Returning to his room, Sasame noted his remaining 1 Fate Point.

Though his strength made him nearly invincible, some things couldn't be solved by power alone.

He needed to stockpile more Fate Points.

The easiest targets were the original story's protagonists—like Naruto Uzumaki.

With Hiruzen Sarutobi retired and Tsunade as the new Hokage, Sasame could approach Naruto freely now.

Besides, he'd always planned to undo the Nine-Tails' seal.

Then a thought struck him—

Naruto's body didn't just hold the Nine-Tails. It also contained the chakra remnants of Minato Namikaze and Kushina Uzumaki.

Why should he be the one to guide Naruto?

What if Minato and Kushina saw everything Hiruzen had done over the years?

He wasn't sure about Minato's reaction, but Kushina?

The "Red Hot-Blooded Habanero" would explode with rage.

As the saying goes: "A nickname is never wrong."

Naruto might ignore everyone else—but he'd never disobey his mother.

With the Sage Body, Sasame could use Yang Release to sustain Minato and Kushina's chakra forms.

If that failed, Yin Release would do the trick.

Either way, he could prolong their presence.

Naruto's personality would shift dramatically under their influence.

And Sasame would reap the Fate Points.

Meanwhile, Sasuke Uchiha, watching Naruto's rapid growth, would likely spiral further.

Two birds with one stone.

Perfect.

As Sasame strategized, he noticed the sky darkening—sunset had arrived.

He had been busy today.

From dawn till dusk, without a moment's rest.

Exhausted, he collapsed onto his bed and fell asleep.

Some time later, he awoke—starving.

In the darkness, he opened his eyes to find Tsunade clinging to him like an octopus, leaving him immobile.

He studied her delicate face.

So hungry. I want a taste.

He debated how to sneak to the kitchen without waking her.

Even the Flying Thunder God Technique wouldn't work—if he vanished, she'd wake up with a stiff neck.

After a moment's thought, he slowly slid his arm out from under her head.

"Hungry?"

Tsunade's voice cut through the silence.

She stretched and slipped out of bed.

Sasame blinked, confused.

"Let's eat."

Tsunade tilted her chin toward the door. "I saved food for you."

Understanding dawned—she must have let him sleep but kept dinner warm in case he woke up hungry.

Touched, Sasame hugged her tightly. "Sis, you're the best!"

"Quiet."

Tsunade flinched. "Don't wake Shizune."

"Right, right."

Sasame lowered his voice but didn't let go of her soft body.

"At it again, are we?"

Tsunade noticed his wandering hands and pinched his ear, dragging him to the kitchen.

"Ow!"

Sasame hissed—though he felt nothing. (Thank you, Sage Body.)

"Sit there and behave."

Tsunade shot him a glare and began reheating the food.

Though his hands were restrained, Sasame's eyes were free.

Tsunade's sleepwear left her calves and feet bare, glowing faintly in the lamplight.

And the apron? Perfect.

A backless design that accentuated her curves, especially when she leaned forward.

Noticing his gaze, Tsunade turned. "What are you staring at?"

"Nothing."

Sasame yawned theatrically.

"You think I don't know?"

Tsunade rolled her eyes. "I've realized you're utterly shameless."

"That's because you're irresistible."

Sasame grinned. "If I ignored a woman completely, it'd mean she has no charm."

"Your silver tongue is something else."

Tsunade laughed despite herself and returned to cooking.

(If only she knew his tongue wasn't just for talking.)

Soon, dinner—or rather, midnight snack—was ready.

Oyakodon: a bowl of rice topped with chicken and egg.

"Sis, aren't you eating?"

Sasame noticed only one serving.

"I already had dinner."

Tsunade waved him off. "Eat up."

Nodding, Sasame dug in.

After a moment, he held out a piece of chicken. "Say 'ah~'"

Tsunade paused, then took the bite.

"I already took a nibble."

Sasame smirked.

Tsunade chewed calmly, then smiled. "Tastes good."

"…?"

Sasame blinked.

Well then.

Definitely not like Hinata or the others.

His teasing had failed.

"Want more?"

He offered again.

"Just eat."

Tsunade untied her apron. "Then go back to sleep."

"Sleeping right after eating isn't healthy."

Sasame took another bite.

"Would you prefer some post-meal exercise to aid digestion?"

Tsunade crossed her arms, eyes narrowing.

"Uh… what kind of exercise?"

Sasame's instincts screamed danger. He retreated a step.

"Being my punching bag."

She cracked her knuckles.

"That's lethal. Seriously."

Sasame backed into a corner, feigning terror.

Tsunade smirked victoriously.

This little brother needed to be put in his place.

Lately, he'd grown far too bold.

"Finish your food!"

She pointed at the bowl. "We'll talk afterward."

Sasame could only think: Sister, please behave. I'm not that kind of man.

He ate quickly, but the expected "punishment" never came.

Tsunade simply pulled him into bed and fell asleep.
