A New Mission for Her

Artemis remained in his room as he ponders his thoughts for awhile, but Amelia was a different story. She was reading through one of the books that she brought with her.

Amelia's View. (In her bedroom.)

I'd love to let him free from this pact but I'm not even sure if it'll be a good idea for him, he grew up confined in our yard. Wouldn't it be better to just keep him with me for the time being?

"Dark Arts; Sora." This book was written by a great image named Sora and it has a lot of valuable information in it. This book might be the key to me discovering how strong I can make this pact or might even help me make Artemis stronger.

I promised him that I'd set him free but what good would that actually do for him? He could be my personal guard and could become quite strong.

The dark Arts book that she's starting to read were written by one of the greatest mages to exist in the last era. He was great with the dark magic and knew all the in's and outs of what you could do.

It was primarily a book about forbidden magic, pacts, and even spells that could help in enhancing someone's strength within the pact. It was used to make powerful people who couldn't disobey the orders of the pact.

Sora actually had used it to make a pact with a powerful witch that he defeated in a battle.

Shadows, a mysterious form of magic and power that is rarely seen anymore. What if I could find a way to utilize this somehow? Artemis could be quite strong if he has the abilities of shadows on his side.

She looks up from the book and towards the mirror, her eyes began to glow as she stared. It didn't take long for another person to appear within the mirror.

It was a figure wearing all black, it's face was covered by a hood and it appeared to be holding some sort of scythe. "I was wondering when I'd meet you child. It's been quite some time since I've met such a powerful human. Then again, your family has quite the bloodline I suppose." The voice was clearly male, based on how deep it was.

She was taken back by the man who had appeared before her. "How did you get here? What do you want?" Amelia questions with a scared expression on her face.

Silence remains for a few moments before it decided to speak once again. "You are the only one capable of stopping the chaos that will plague the lands. You've also been given the right person to help. Artemis is a key in stopping this all from happening, don't lose him. Help awaken his potential. Well, I can't force you to do any of this but this is the only warning and the only advice I'll give you." The Man explains while ignoring her questions.

He didn't even answer the questions I asked but I guess it doesn't matter with everything he just told me. I've got to keep Artemis around if I'm going to supposedly save everything.

I don't understand why I'd be given this task since I never knew much about my family's bloodline. Dad never said anything about us being powerful or strong or just anything.

But now I've been tasked with helping save the lands from chaos, what chaos? Artemis isn't going to like anything about this, so what's the right thing to do?

I should set him free but at the same time I want to keep him around to help.

As she struggled with her decisions Artemis begins to rest. It doesn't take long for her to reach her decision so she races for his room to speak to him about everything.

Artemis's View. (His bedroom.)

It might just be better if I stay with her for the time being, what am I really missing if I head out there by myself. I could've rejected the pact when she first asked me so obviously it's a good thing I took it.

I do have to figure out what that woman meant about my potential though. She spoke about that and didn't really give me much to go on.

Will it even be possible for me to discover anything about my potential if I'm tied to Amelia the whole time. Unless she's involved with me unlocking it.

It's all just speculation of course but what if that's actually the case here, why else would the lady take so long to show herself to me.

Knock. Knock. Someone was clearly knocking on the door. "Come in." Artemis says.

Amelia immediately came into the room and closed the door behind her. "Artemis I don't want you to leave. I might really need your help." She says with a bit of a desperate tone in her voice.

Can she read my thoughts or something? I was just debating on staying and now she comes barging in asking me to stay. Well, she said she doesn't want me to leave but that's about the same thing anyway.

Artemis sighs. "I was actually debating staying already anyway. I wouldn't feel great if I left and something happened to you." He responds.

She seems like a good person so I don't want anything bad to happen to her, especially because I leave. I'd also like to see if she's connected to me figuring out this hidden potential of mine.

I don't even know if this hidden potential will help with anything or if it'll just be something minor that helps with day to day things.

A look of relief was on her face as she heard those words. She took a seat next to him on the bed after that. "I'm glad you decided to stay. I promise I'll explain why I want you here tomorrow or maybe the day after. Thank you." She says with a smile on her face.
