Max's face was etched with concern.
"Who was that? What just happened, Luna? Why are you sobbing? Is something wrong?" he asked, trying to process the scene that had just unfolded.
Luna sniffled, wiping her nose with her sleeve.
"That was Aurora, my girlfriend," she said, her voice shaking.
Max's eyes widened in surprise.
"Your girlfriend?" he repeated.
Luna nodded, taking a deep breath.
"We've been together for a while now. I was going to tell you about her, and I even invited her to meet you tonight."
Max looked stunned.
"I had no idea, Luna. I didn't know you were...I mean, I didn't know you were into women."
Luna smiled wryly.
"I'm bisexual, Max. I've always been attracted to both men and women. But I've found love with Aurora, and she's everything I want."
Max's expression changed from surprise to understanding, but then a look of confusion crossed his face.
"Wait, Luna, I'm confused. I could swear you dated Xavier back in high school."
Luna nodded.
"I did, Max. But like I said, I'm bisexual. I've always been open to relationships with both men and women."
Max's eyes widened in understanding.
"I'm sorry about the kiss earlier, Luna. I had no idea. I thought maybe you felt the same way I did."
Luna shook her head.
"No, Max. I care about you deeply, but not in that way."
Max nodded, feeling a mix of emotions.
"I'm glad I could help clear up the misunderstanding between you and Aurora."
Luna's eyes lit up with hope.
"Do you think you could help me fix things with Aurora? I don't know what to do."
Max smiled.
"Of course, Luna. Let's go talk to her."
As it turns out, when Aurora walked into the restaurant, she couldn't find Luna, so she asked the bartender.
He told her Luna was in the restroom, and that's when she walked in on Luna and Max.
The bartender was the same one who had spilled wine on Luna's dress earlier.
Aurora had shown him a picture of Luna on her phone, asking if he had seen her anywhere around.
The bartender had replied affirmatively, directing her to the restroom where Luna had headed to clean up the stain...
Max drove Luna to Aurora's house, determined to help clear up the misunderstanding.
As they stood at the door, the doorbell rang.
Aurora, who had been crying and drinking, quickly wiped away her tears and dropped the bottle of alcohol.
She made her way to the door, her anger evident on her face.
As she opened the door, she saw Luna standing alongside Max.
Her expression turned icy.
"What are you doing here, Luna? And with him?" she spat, her voice venomous.
"Haven't you done enough?"
Aurora tried to close the door, but Max intervened, his voice calm and soothing.
"Aurora, please listen to us. You've got it all wrong. Let us in, and we'll explain everything."
Aurora's expression softened slightly, and she stepped aside, allowing Luna and Max to enter.
Max cleared his throat and began to explain the events that had led to the misunderstanding.
Aurora listened intently, her expression changing from anger to surprise and finally to understanding.
When Max finished speaking, Aurora got up and slapped him playfully on the cheek.
"That's for kissing my woman," she said with a smile.
Aurora then turned to Luna, knelt down, and apologized profusely for not letting her explain and for getting mad at her.
Luna pulled her up, and they shared a passionate kiss, their love and forgiveness evident in the way they held each other.
Max cleared his throat, reminding them that he was still present.
They broke free from the kiss, and Luna decided to spend the night with Aurora.
As they bade Max goodnight, he smiled, happy to see the two women reunited.
He left for his house, feeling grateful that he could help clear up the misunderstanding.
