Developer Options: The Glitch Part 2

Min-ho felt his heart pulsate. His fingers twitched as they rose to the screen.

Upon tapping it, a keyboard appeared before him. Without wasting any time, he typed in the name that he wanted, and hit enter.

[STREAMER NOT FOUND]

Min-ho raised a brow upon seeing this.

'I'm sure I spelled it right,' he thought. Then typed in the name with a different spelling.

[STREAMER NOT FOUND]

Once again, Min-ho tried. He used multiple variations of the name and still he got the same result.

'Damn,' he thought, biting his lip.

'He must have used a different name,' he deduced.

It was obvious—he had to have used a different name. But the question was why?

Feeling disappointed, Min-ho thought to further investigate the sub-menu of the screen he saw.

Looking at the wires, he noticed that some were colored in pure white, while one was colored in a deep blue.

Also, the section connected to the Gift node had small specks of blue running along the wire. Each time the speck of blue light hit the node, the Gifts increased.

It didn't take too much brain power to realize the blue lights were the Gifts being sent into the Gift node.

But what about the wire colored in blue?

He had a rough guess, but wasn't sure.

Staring at it for several seconds too long, a thought came across his mind. One that frightened him.

Gulping, he reached a hand for the wire.

'This better not kill me or anything,' Min-ho thought, his hand quivering as it got closer to the wire.

Once he could feel it at the end of his fingertips, he didn't hesitate and pulled it out.

[Affinities: None]

Min-ho's heart pounded.

He couldn't believe it.

Frenzied, he asked for the search bar. Once it arrived, he typed in his own name.

[Name: Mee Min-ho, Rank: E]

[Affinities, Equipment]

[Inventory, Shop]

[Coins: 100]

Ignoring everything else, Min-ho expanded the sub-menu.

[—Gifts: None]

[—Affinities: Monarch's Will]

[—Inventory: Empty]

Without looking, he pulled on the wire connected to his Affinity.

[—Affinities: None]

Then he placed the wire in his left hand into his Affinity node.

[—Affinities: Longer Reach]

Min-ho froze. He still couldn't believe it.

Cleaning out his mouth, he tried to process all of it. Yet the more he tried, the more his thoughts ravaged his mind.

'How is this possible?'

'What is this?'

'Did I just switch Affinities?'

'Will this actually work?'

'Is this dangerous?'

'Could I get myself killed?'

'I could be unstoppable.'

'Can I switch ranks too?'

The more his thoughts flooded, the more Min-ho didn't know what to do.

Shaking his thoughts away, he shut his eyes and took in a deep breath.

'One thing at a time,' he thought.

Opening his eyes, he turned to the System beside his. Still holding his Affinity wire in his hand, he reached out for the wire attached to the Gifts node.

He pulled it, and the blue lights racing along the wire all stopped at the end of the wire.

Turning to his System, he placed the Gift wire in his hand, so he held both his Affinity cord and the stranger's Gifts cord in one hand.

He gently pulled out his Gifts cord, then he froze. He hesitated, but mustered up the courage and replaced his Gifts cord with that of the stranger's.

Once he had done so, the blue lights rushed into his Gifts node.

[You Have Received A Taco]

[You Have Received A Taco]

[You Have Received A Taco]

The automated voice said, accompanying the screens showcasing the Gifts and their names.

Min-ho held his mouth, struggling to believe it.

'No way,' he thought, feeling a mix of disbelief, astonishment, and excitement.

He narrowed his gaze to his Coins, confirming it was all real.

[Name: Mee Min-ho, Rank: E]

[Affinities, Equipment]

[Inventory, Shop]

[Coins: 290]

His coins had gone up from 100 to 290 Coins.

Unable to properly express himself, Min-ho began to laugh, as his thoughts started to spiral again. So many possibilities.

Calming himself, he placed everything as should be, then he took a step back... or rather, he hovered a space back.

Though many thoughts clamored for his attention, Min-ho knew the one thing he needed more than anything in the world right now—Coins.

But these Coins he was getting from this Z-Streamer were much too small.

If he needed Coins, he needed to go for a Z-Streamer with a lot of views. And he had to do it now, because this was the best time for Nightshade Streamers, and the time the most Gifts would flow in.

The search began.
