Developer Options: The Glitch Part 3

Not too long after combing through a good portion of the Systems present in this space, Min-ho finally came across a suitable candidate, who was getting a ton of Gifts in rapid succession.

Information given to Min-ho by the flashing lights running across the wire.

Min-ho wondered what was so special about this Z-Streamer that made him get so many Gifts. But not wanting to think deeply into it, he ignored this fact and focused on the most important thing.

Expanding the sub menu, Min-ho froze for a moment, trying to believe what he saw.

[—Gifts: Iced Pepsi(41), Taco(28), Inspirational Tablet(12), Magic Mansion(2)]

[—Affinities: Ghastly Touch]

[—Inventory: Empty]

'Twenty-eight Tacos, twelve Inspirational Tablets, two Magic Mansions.' He listed the Gifts out, as though doing so would make what he was seeing any less real.

To say he was jealous in this moment wouldn't be a lie, yet he was more astonished than anything else.

This Z-Streamer had just gotten here like everyone else. And already, he had accumulated so many Gifts, with more coming in by the second.

An Iced Pepsi would fetch the Z-Streamer 10 Coins, a Taco would equate to 50, Inspirational Tablets were 100 Coins, and a Magic Mansion was a whopping 5,000 Coins.

He didn't have to count to know this Z-Streamer had accumulated an ungodly amount of Coins, and it just kept coming.

Gulping, Min-ho called on the search menu with his mind. Once it appeared, he typed in his own name, so his System appeared beside him.

Then, he immediately opened the sub menu, detached the Cord from his Gifts, and replaced it with that of the Coin-enriched Z-Streamer.

Within the second, the Gifts began to flow into Min-ho's System, and the automated voice rang in his head, followed by the screens detailing his Gifts.

Min-ho's heart rate spiked as he watched the Gifts flood in. He couldn't believe it no matter how hard he tried.

The Coins were coming in nonstop. After only 10 minutes, Min-ho had acquired over 1,000 Coins. But no matter how big it sounded, it in actuality was not much in the grand scheme of things.

Finding this to be the perfect time to investigate his System, Min-ho turned to it and began his inspection.

[Name: Mee Min-ho, Rank: E]

[Affinities, Equipment]

[Inventory, Shop]

[Coins: 0]

'It's not there,' he thought, narrowing his gaze to the section titled 'Developer Options'. But that much made sense; he was in it after all. At least he thought so.

Looking at his System, Min-ho was already familiar with what it would entail. Countless articles, comics, animations, and movies had familiarized the world with Systems.

Yet he still wanted to check everything because, as it turns out, his System was an anomaly.

Ignoring the 'Name' section, he focused on the 'Rank,' and it expanded, replacing the contents of the screen with new texts.

[—Rank—]

[Rank: E, Tier 3]

[Coins For Next Tier: 0/500,000]

As expected, he needed 500,000 Coins to get to the next Tier. The Coins he currently possessed were not even 1% of the total he needed to grow in power.

Feeling a little overwhelmed, Min-ho went back to the previous screen with a thought, then he expanded Equipment.

[—Equipment—]

[Helmet: None, Armor: None]

[Gauntlets: None, Boots: None]

[Relics: None]

'Of course there's nothing here,' he thought, then removed the screen in favor of the next.

[—Inventory—]

[Inventory Slots: 10, Items Available: 0]

[Item List: None]

Once again, he had nothing. But this did not matter in the slightest. Min-ho just wanted to confirm his System was what he expected from it, and not anything else. And if it was different, he needed to know to use it to its fullest.

Feeling a bit disappointed his Inventory was the same, he opted for the next item on his main menu, the Shop.

[—Shop—]

[Weapons, Gear, Relics, Potions, Consumables]

Like last time, he selected the option 'Weapons'.

[——Weapons——]

[Swords, Shields, Spears]

[Daggers, Bows, Arrows]

[Bludgeons, Lances, Bombs, Others]

Min-ho's gaze was snagged on 'Daggers' almost instantaneously. Without much hesitation, he expanded that menu.

[———Daggers———]

[Plain Dagger, Bone Dagger, Casalis' Tooth, Korvix Fang, Butcher Needle, Siren Stinger, Gargoyle Blade, Vampiric Edge, Last Kiss]

The options were vast, yet he knew how they were generally sorted.

Just to confirm his assumptions, he expanded the first option.

[[Plain Dagger]]

[Rank: E, Tier: 3]

[Durability: 5/5]

[Enchantments: None]

[Description: Simple dagger made from plain steel. The dagger's weak durability makes it an unideal weapon of choice for combat. Rather, it is used as a last resort in times of desperate need.]

[Price: 200 Coins]

[Purchase]

Min-ho could guess this was the weapon which Savior had stolen from her dead assailant. It was very cheap, and its specifications equated to its price tag. It was also the first weapon on the list, as they were sorted in ascending order of weakest to strongest.

And thus, cheaper to much more expensive.

Returning to the previous screen, Min-ho decided to select the last weapon just to get a good grasp of how much the more powerful weapons were.

[[Last Kiss]]

[Rank: E, Tier: 1]

[Durability: 500/500]

[Enchantments: Death's Embrace, The Plague, Rotten Flesh]

[Description: A dagger made by the god of death himself. Though its durability is something to be desired, it more than makes up for this weakness by ensuring death to whoever is on the opposite end of its blade.]

[Price: 10,000,000]

[Purchase]
