Developer Options: The Glitch Part 4

Upon seeing the price tag, Min-ho's eyes widened. Though he knew much of this reality already, it was still bewildering to accept.

'Ten million Coins,' Min-ho thought, his heart pulsating.

Raising both hands, he began to count on each finger.

'A normal Third Tier E-Ranked Spector would fetch around five hundred Coins,' Min-ho thought. 'A normal Second Tier would get me two thousand Coins, and a First Tier would get me five thousand Coins.'

He then began to count how many First Tiers he needed to kill.

'A hundred, two hundred... a thousand,' he held his mouth, 'five thousand First Tiers.'

Min-ho began to laugh at this prospect.

A Third Tier E-Ranked Z-Streamer needed to fight in a group to take down a single Third Tier Spector.

Not to mention Second Tier. Before he would be able to defeat 1,000 First Tier Spectors, he would have to be in the Second Layer of the Z-Tower. Or dead.

The First Tier weapons were truly a force to be reckoned with. But by the time anyone would be able to afford them, they would already become obsolete.

There was practically no point of them even existing in the first place.

But this line of thinking was for people like Min-ho.

Someone like Gun-hee, on the other hand, would revel in these weapons. After all, he had accomplished the impossible already. With all those views and the Sponsored Gifts he would be getting on a daily, buying these weapons wouldn't even put a dent in his number of Coins.

Thinking on this, Min-ho suddenly felt an itch. He became very annoyed that the man had lied about his name, else he would have found him and stolen his Sponsored Gifts. Only God knows how much he must be making daily, not to mention during his Nightshade streams.

Looking at the vast expanse of Systems, Min-ho reckoned it would take him an eternity to find Gun-hee. It would be worse than looking for a needle in a haystack.

Min-ho began to scratch his thumb with his index finger out of frustration.

There was nothing to be done about it, so he ignored the annoyance.

Turning back to his System, he began to examine each weapon while looking for one that he could purchase once he had enough Coins.

Out of all the daggers, the most affordable he could find was the Bone Dagger.

[[Bone Dagger]]

[Rank: E, Tier: 3]

[Durability: 200/200]

[Enchantments: None]

[Description: A durable dagger made from the bones of a Kelion giant. Though the Bone Dagger boasts nothing special, it excels at being an efficient combat weapon]

[Price: 1,000 Coins]

[Purchase]

As its description had said, the weapon was nothing special. But at the very least, it could help Min-ho in a fight without shattering from low durability.

Looking at the 'Purchase' option, Min-ho was tempted to buy it there and then. But a thought kept him at bay.

'How would I explain how I got this weapon?' he wondered, scratching his thumb.

Min-ho knew for a fact that he needed this weapon, but he also knew that nothing about any of this was normal. And he doubted telling people would help him in any way. Instead, it could bring about anger and jealousy.

The Z-Tower was already enough of a problem to deal with. Unwanted conflict was something he couldn't afford.

Staring at the 'Purchase' option, he contemplated and contemplated.

Then, he finally gave in to his urges and selected the option.

[Weapon Purchased]

[1,000 Coins Deducted]

[Weapon 'Bone Dagger' Acquired]

[Item Transferred To Inventory]

Now feeling a sudden relief wash over him, Min-ho rushed to his Inventory.

[—Inventory—]

[Inventory Slots: 10, Items Available: 1]

[Item List: Bone Dagger]

He then thought for the item in his Inventory to manifest in his hand. A mist began to form in his palm, which slowly took the shape of the blade, and within the second, it was fully formed.

The weapon looked like any other dagger, except it was somewhat crooked and curved. The blade was made from sharpened bone, and the handle was made of a white rubbery material.

He swung it a couple of times to get a feel for it.

The Bone Dagger was a bit heavy, but not combat impairing. It was just like the description had said—efficient.

Feeling satisfied with it, Min-ho thought for it to return to his Inventory. It reverted back to smoke and then vanished.

Now calling on his main menu, Min-ho became astonished when he had discovered that he still had 4,000-plus Coins left over.

But as it would turn out, the Gifts had stopped flowing.

'That's a shame,' Min-ho thought.

'The Nightshade streams must be over,' he added, then turned his sights throughout the space of Systems.

He didn't feel like stopping and returning right away. For all he knew, this could be a one-time thing, so he decided to take full advantage of it.

Without wasting any time, he got to work, searching for more Systems to hack while keeping a couple of things at the back of his mind.

He had yet to fully explore his System. He needed to check the rest of what the shop had to offer, and also, he needed to finally check his Affinity.

An endeavor he had been holding off on for some time now, as he had been too nervous to find out.

Checking one's Affinity was a make-or-break moment, and he wasn't entirely sure he was ready.
