How a world changes

[ "Breaking news!" ]

[ "As you all might have seen, monsters have appeared all around the world!" ]

[ "Just like the mysterious towers, the 'tutorial' that is prologue to a bigger catastrophe seems to be happening around the world." ]

[ "The death toll is increasing with each passing second! We have received news that 10% of the cities around the world have vanished completely!" ]

[ "Along with the tower, strange structures called [Dungeons] and [Labyrinths] have also appeared around the world. Some of the monumental sites that have turned into these dungeons and such have trapped many tourists." ]

[ "National houses around the world have also turned into dungeons, leading to the highest level of security alert." ]

[ "The tutorial that has just been concluded has resulted in mass casualties around the world. Some places have been devastated and become barren lands! As you all can see, monsters are still roaming some of the places!" ]

The news was being announced through loudspeakers on radio signals since the internet had crumbled within seconds of the tower's appearance.

People who fought in the tutorial for their families and loved ones and still ended up losing them were mourning their deaths. Many empaths around the world were also grieving for the dead.

The weeping for the departed souls had suddenly become a common thing around the world.

In every nook and cranny one looked in, even the once solid road considered to be scientific innovations, had been reduced to debris.

The fire was set to concrete buildings– something that did not make any sense.

Places around the world were now filled with the stench of the dead bodies. The rotting smell of the flesh of the creatures was contaminating many areas as well.

People did not know how they were going to clean up everything that was appearing around them, but they were trying.

Despite all this chaos, the people still held onto their hope. And, the main reason behind that was obviously the mysterious people who saved them and their families, or at least tried their best to fight against all the creatures that had appeared around them.

[ "Superhumans possessing 'skills' or powers that they received along with the access to a [System] that is said to be the same interface that they had accessed in the game Tower of Beginning have appeared around the world." ]

[ "These superhumans are being called 'Players'. With their awakened skills and stats, they took down the creatures around them and proceeded to save the others.

On the darker side, criminals who awakened these superpowers have escaped many of their high-security prisons, calling for special attention from the rising powers around the world." ]

The matter wasn't simple. People were still dying as they spoke.

The monsters were still walking among them right now. With the tower's appearance, a lot of things were changing little by little.

It had only been 24 hours since the tower appeared yet things were moving at an unnaturally quick pace.

[ "Along with the matters regarding Tower, Dungeons, and the monsters, the United National Assembly has decided to form a government entity to overlook all the players and individuals who have received these unique powers." ]

[ "They will be calling it [Association for Awakened Players and Public] or [A2P2] as some people are calling it." ]

[ "The world leaders have decided to finish the framework for this association by tomorrow. The association will begin its operations in a week's time.

The players have been restricted from moving or approaching the tower for the time being.

The government urges them to take care of the existing monsters around the world for the time being." ]

[ "However despite the Police and military taking charge, the actions of the Players have created an anarchical atmosphere." ]

[ "Ultimately, this new world of ours is sure to face countless more challenges going forward." ]

Things were moving pretty quickly.

While the tutorial had concluded, the monsters that were created during the tutorial, those who had come out of the restricted dungeons and Labyrinths and the creatures of the tower that were making themselves comfortable in this new home were something KiRA had foreseen already.

In this new world, clouded with such chaos, the more significant things were going to be taken care of by those with authority.

While he could not see his uncle and aunt, he knew they would have made it out safe. If there were any normal humans in the world who could deal with the monsters without access to the system and stats, then he knew it was people like his uncle.

His aunt would help him however she could as well, so the two were safer together. Besides that, they had their son, Zyon.

As long as he was with them, KiRA did not have to worry about any of them– or about his girlfriend, for that matter.

She would be fine as well. She knew what she needed to do in situations like these. And she had people she could count on with her as well, so it was fine.

"Now, how are we going to get there?" When he came out of the dungeon, he was stunned to see the devastation that met his eyes.

The tall buildings with glass windows had now become empty boxes filled with corpses of humans and monsters.

Seeing the destroyed floors and fallen debris from the buildings, it seemed like there were many aerial predators in this area as well.

Currently, though, there didn't seem to be any of them present.

There were many ambulances here, and people had gathered in the plaza, many of them crying and weeping for the dead covered in bloodied sheets.

Police and authorities were looking after the people, many of them seemed to be players who had awakened skills.

'There are so many people and I cannot do anything about this… I definitely have to get my main skills back as quickly as I can.'

Even though there were so many people here, even though there was such chaos going on, even though he could see so many earning opportunities for coins and skills, he did not have the means to harvest any of them, reminding him what his other objective was going to be after he moved to Isah's home.

"Hello there, mister. Hey, you in the black hood!" He was hiding in a corner, observing everything quietly. But, avoiding the authorities was not going to be an easy task.

"Yes?" He was a little too clean compared to the other people currently present here. He was also not wounded, so the officer who approached him could not hide his questions.

"Were you hiding somewhere? It seems like you don't know what's going on here either so you must have hid yourself well."

The officer, a tall man with a well maintained but not too muscular build did not seem to suspect him of anything.

KiRA also told him that he was hiding in a good place and asked him for help. He told them he needed to go home, and since it seemed like they were handling the transportation of survivors, this seemed like a good choice.

"We cannot help you move directly if you don't wish to relocate to a secured shelter. This area is still not safe, and the Northwestern highway is still swarming with monsters so it is being restricted by the higher ups.

Since you're a 'player' we won't stop you from moving on your own, but do not cause any trouble for the survivors."

KiRA made up a story but he got to know that all the non-player survivors were mandated to be taken to the shelters.

They did not have the power to protect themselves, but players did, granting them the freedom to move on their own.

"If you have any other questions, please feel free to use the [Forums] within the system interface. It will come up if you think about it.

It's mostly like global group chat so you'll get the hang of it pretty quickly."

Not minding him anymore, the officer moved away to the next person. There was a lot that they needed to take care of her, and…

[{ Master… this is so heartbreaking. }]

Unity wasn't the only one saddened by this sight.

Seeing all the dead bodies of the people, seeing the young children crying before the covered bodies of what seemed like their family members, parents mourning before boxes that weren't even a corpse...

The fact that so many people had lost so much in just a few hours, along with the fact that this wasn't even the start of the nightmare, reminded him why all of the players had left that damned game.

And, this isn't even the game anymore. The nightmare of the Tower of Beginning was now haunting the reality in the form of the Tower of Cessation.

[{ "We must do it again, Uni." }]

Looking at the rising sun on the faraway horizon behind the half-fallen buildings, he glanced at the rows of dead bodies and the common people before turning away from all of that…

[{ "We must take down the tower once again." }]

He did not have any goal after finishing the game, but now he most certainly had one.

A goal to not just reach the top once more, but to save the world that his loved ones cherished so dearly.
