Maid Or Mistress

On the other side in Jodhpur,

"Nothing like this will happen to her, Kanishka ji. The house where I am sending her, the servant and the master eat together. The son-in-law is also a very good person. Women are respected in his house. I have spoken to Vandita's father-in-law. Nothing bad will happen to Phool. Leave the worry of Phool and worry about the person whom you have come here to find."

Dhanraj said while explaining to Kanishka. Hearing this, Kanishka said to herself, "I forgot about him... I have to find the murderer who took away all my happiness."

Kanishka took a deep breath and said, "Because of the accident that happened two years ago, I used to think that I am the most unlucky person in this world. But after coming here, I came to know that there are people in this world who are more unlucky than me. Now we should go home, otherwise aunty will get angry and lash out at Phool again."

Dhanraj nodded in agreement and said, "You are right, let's go."

Both of them had left for home. On the other hand, Vandita was comfortably sitting on the sofa in the drawing room of Solanki Niwas and watching TV. Wedding preparations were going on in the house.

"Phool, bring tea for us!" Vandita called out.

Phool, who was busy with household chores, quickly made tea and said, "Here, Jiji, tea for you!"

Just then, she heard a familiar voice—"I am very happy that I am going to get married to Shrivardhan ji."

Phool's ears perked up. She looked towards the TV and said in surprise, "Kanishka Jiji! She is coming on TV!"

"Idiot! This is not Kanishka, she is her lookalike. Probably her sister. She is getting married, and she has posted a video on social media," Vandita said making a face.

Phool asked in surprise, "What is social media?"

Vandita stared at her and said, "What you are watching on TV, right? When it is shown on the phone, it is called social media. You don't need to know more than this."

Phool nodded and started watching TV. On the screen, a girl, who looked very fashionable and resembled Kanishka, was showing her wedding ring and saying in front of the camera that she was engaged and was getting married soon.

Phool smiled and said, "Jiji will be very happy with her sister's marriage!"

"I don't think so. No one from her home has ever called and neither does she mention her family, so she will not be happy about the marriage at all," Vandita said making a face and took a sip of tea.

Just then, Dhanraj came in from the living room door and said, "Who will not be happy about the marriage?"

Kanishka was also coming in with him. Phool went to her excitedly and said, "Oh Jiji, your sister is getting married! Look at the TV!"

Kanishka looked at the TV and said in a cold voice, "This is what I was expecting..."

Phool asked innocently, "Jiji, why are you not happy with your sister's marriage?"

Kanishka said in a cold voice, "Because for her, marriage is like a doll's play. She has had many breakups, meaning she has left many boys. Now I don't know whether she will continue this marriage or will run away."

Phool was about to say something when Vandita interrupted, "I told you, Kanishka won't be affected!"

Dhanraj stared at Vandita and said, "Vandita, this is Kanishka's family matter. You have no right to speak in this!"

Vandita taunted while making a face, "Family matter? When she can speak in our family matter, why can't I? How many times has she fought with Bhabhi for Phool, and I can't even say such a small thing to her?"

Dhanraj said in a stern voice, "You are speaking too much. We haven't even met Kanishka ji's sister, so we can't say anything about her. But whether your relationship with Thakur sa will last or not, remains to be seen. Girls who talk back don't stay in good families for long."

Vandita made a face.

Dhanraj looked at Kanishka and said, "Don't feel bad about what she said, Kanishka ji."

Kanishka nodded slightly and went towards her room.

Phool called from behind, "Jiji, should I bring tea for you?"

"Bhai sa, will you have tea?" Phool asked Dhanraj.

Dhanraj shook his head, "No Phool, I have to go to invite this queen's in-laws for her sangeet ceremony."

Phool did not say anything and quietly went to the kitchen.

In Kanishka's room...

As soon as Kanishka reached her room, her phone started ringing. She looked at the phone screen and muttered angrily, "How did he remember me now?"

Annoyed, she threw the phone on the bed and went to the washroom. The phone kept ringing continuously.

After a while, she came out after taking a bath, just then Phool came into the room with tea and said, "Oh jiji, I have brought your tea!"

Kanishka was about to say something when the phone rang again.

Scratching her head, Phool said, "Jiji, ever since I have come, the phone has been ringing! You should talk to her, who knows it might be something important!"

After a while, Kanishka came out after taking a bath, just then Phool came into the room with tea and said, "Oh Jiji, I brought my tea!"

Kanishka was about to say something when the phone rang again. Phool scratched her head and said, "Jiji, ever since I came, the phone has been ringing! You should talk to her, who knows there might be something important!"

"It's mom's call. I will talk to her and have tea, Phool, you go." Kanishka replied to her and Phool put the cup on the table.

Kanishka gave her an ointment and said, "Take this! Apply this, it will give relief to the wound."

Phool smiled and went out saying thank you. As soon as she left, Kanishka received the call and said angrily, "Why are you disturbing me by calling again and again? When I did not pick up once, it clearly means that I do not want to talk to you!"

Her mother's panicked voice came from the other side, "Kanishka beta, your sister Tania is missing!"

"What? What are you saying?" Kanishka asked panicking.

Her mother cried from the other side, "I have been looking for Tania since last night, but she is nowhere to be found!"

"She must have run away! The ghost of marriage must have gone away like a boyfriend. When her money runs out, she will come back home on her own. I am hanging up now, don't disturb me!"

Having said this, Kanishka was about to disconnect the call when her mother begged, "Please, Kanishka! Come from anywhere, beta! Your family is in trouble. Your sister has really disappeared! She had happily said yes to the marriage, she also liked the son-in-law very much, so why would she run away? Please, I am folding my hands in front of you!"

Kanishka replied in a cold voice, "What will I do by going there? You are the wife of a politician and a political leader yourself. What difficult task is this for you? Find your daughter yourself!"

"Kanishka, why are you not understanding, child?" her mother said in a helpless voice. "We have the strongman of Begusarai and Health Minister Shrivardhan Ranawat in front of us! If he comes to know that his wife is missing, do you think he will search for her peacefully? No! He will directly attack us! We don't know what condition your sister is in!"

Kanishka took a deep breath. "She is not my sister! And that family is also not my family! Our family broke up the day you divorced Papa!"

Before she could say anything else, a notification came on her phone. She put the call on hold and checked the notification.

"The person you are looking for is in Begusarai."

It was a text message from a private number.

Kanishka said as soon as she got back on the call, "I am coming back there! But only because Tania is my half-sister. Her face resembles mine because of you, but I don't want to get insulted!"

Her mother heaved a sigh of relief and said, "Thank you, son! For deciding to come here for your sister!"

But before Kanishka could say anything else, she disconnected the call. Then she called the number from which the text had come.

A heavy voice replied, "I know you have been looking for me for the last two years... because you want the address of the man to whom I sent the car in which those men came to kill your husband."

Kanishka said in a stern voice, "If you lied to me or tried to cheat me, you will be the first one to suffer the consequences!"

The other person replied in a calm voice, "I am a devotee of Lord Shri Ram. I promise that if my words turn out to be false, I will personally come to you and ask for my punishment."

"For now, Jai Shri Ram!"

The other person disconnected the call.

Kanishka clenched her fists and muttered to herself while looking at Pranav's picture on her phone screen, "The time has come to punish your murderer. I have to leave for Bihar tomorrow morning. I will talk to Dhanraj ji as soon as he returns."
