Back at the inn…
Mira walked in a hurry, feeling upset.
She flung herself on the bed, feeling dejected as ever. She felt angry, and an unexplainable feeling swirled through her like a tornado
Ugh! She groaned out loud, thrashing about on the bed.
She thrashed for a long time, venting her anger on the poor bed. She stood up, feeling satisfied with the anger she had just vacuumed out of her. The look on her face told a different story, she looked dangerous and scary as though she's been through a lot in this shitty world and it won't be able to get any reaction from her no matter how much stone it throws at her.
*******
She lay down on the bed, lying on her back. She stared at the ceiling as if watching a fascinating movie, while deep within, she was strategizing on how to escape this beautiful horror. A knock interrupted her thoughts, which she found rude. She whipped her head towards the door and ordered, "Come in."
A tall, slender lady walked inside. She was taller than Mira, and her beauty could match up to 80 on a scale of hundred. Even Mira couldn't help but feel mesmerized by her beauty.
("Whoa, why didn't I notice this before! Guess I was too engrossed in disgracing her. No wonder Zamiel fell head over heels for her. Ummph, she sneered, staring at the beauty she beheld.
"Your breakfast, ma'am". Beebah said, bowing slightly, placing the silverware on a nearby stool, and went for the door".
Mira couldn't help but feel weary about this Beebah girl. I mean, why would she come in here to serve me when she dislikes me? Mira stared at her till she exited the room." Well, it's none of my business, I don't care anymore, all I care about is getting out of here". She thought within her, staring into space. Before she decided to have her breakfast or she might collapse any moment.
She felt very hungry. After what she saw yesterday, all her appetite deserted her, but she still forced herself to take a bite or two. But today... Today, she won't waste her appetite on something that's not even worth it.
She ate to heart contempt, chewing as slowly as she could, savouring the delicious taste. She soon finished the food and burped like a goat. She lay on the not-so-fluffy bed, but still it felt comfortable. She dozed off, not caring what life throws at her next. Besides, she has to recuperate to get the required energy for the upcoming journey.
*** On the other hand, Zamiel wasn't as calm as Mira; the incident kept bugging him like a bee. He packed up whatever he was doing and went to the inn.
When he got there, he went straight to their room, not even aware he was being called by someone.
Beebah was attending to one of the customers when she sighted him walking in. He looked majestic and dashing, she couldn't stop drooling over his out-of-this-world beauty. She left whatever she was doing and stood up, totally ignoring the customers.
"Zamiel," she called, not raising her voice, but he didn't answer and ignored her completely, making her a bit embarrassed. She stared at him climbing the stairs.
"Did something happen? he looks quite tense". She thought within her.
When he got to the room, what he was expecting wasn't what he was expecting. He has been tense about what happened back at the river, turned out he was just worried for nothing.
She looked so peaceful sleeping, sprawled all over the bed without a care in the world. She didn't even lock the door, and she slept to the extent that she was drooling.
He couldn't help but shake his head, smiling at her silly but cute position and behavior.
Knock! Knock!
A knock interrupted his thoughts, that was starting to drift far.
"Come in". He commanded. He turned around to see something, or should I say someone, he wasn't expecting.
It was Beebah, she walked in a bit hesitantly. But when she saw the devil sprout was asleep all the hesitation in her went for vacation.
"What?" He turned to 'her', sounding a bit harsh.
Beebah, who sensed the harshness in his voice, was scared, but she wiped it all away, mustering up the courage and walking up to him in a slow, seductive way.
"Uhhm.. I came to check up on you". She stared into his pretty eyes, trying to gauge his expression.
But was taken aback with his next answer.
"Why? You don't need all of this, Beebah". He said, pausing before continuing. " And please next Time don't just walk up to my room for unnecessary reasons, it's not proper". He stared at her coldly after finishing his speech.
All the words she was planning to say went out the window, she choked on her words
" I.. I'm sorry, it won't happen again," she responded, lowering her voice sympathetically and fluttering her lashes to gain his sympathy. But was wrong once again
"It's alright, you can do that by leaving". He turned his back to her, focusing all his attention on Mira. he sat on the bed, drowning in the peaceful cuteness she owned, not even sparing a second glance at the audience.
Beebah felt her world shake, and it almost collapsed with the next impact that hit it.
"Don't forget to shut the door on your way out". He said this while still absorbing the beauty he was staring at.
Beebah was left almost on the verge of crying. As she locked the door behind her, she ran as if she had been chased by a ghost.
She went straight to the river, she poured out all the tears that has been threatening to gush out since she was in that room.
"Why?! ". She cried. "Why can't you see that I love you, I've always been invincible to you... I have always been there, but still you ignored me like a plague". She cried for a long time before she finally stopped.
The look on her face switched to something else, it was as though she wasn't pitiful like she was before. She had a daring aura, a look of determination swirling in her eyes like a tornado storm. She stood up, cleaning her tears as she spoke.
"But mark my words, Zamiel, when I say you'll be mine, then mine will you be. I'll destroy anybody that tries to come between me and you, any obstacles on my way will be trampled on". Her iris colour changed from brown to gold as she made the promise.
