She woke up with everything a bit untidy and the. Curtain's on fire?.
She looked around a bit panicky, all that was on her mind was to escape
She quickly went for the window, there was no other choice; she had to jump.
She can't wait here till the firefighters come, if there was any. "There can't be a firefighter in this world".
She has to jump, and to top it off, if she doesn't get out of here, she might die and be stuck in a coma forever. She also remembered someone saying most fire victims don't die because they were burned, but they died due to suffocation.
She quickly went for the window, squeezing herself through the window, she peeks her head out the window, getting ready to jump, but got the shock of her life.
"SHE WAS BACK HOME!"!!!. How come? When?.she asked herself, feeling emotional, she never thought she'd return home so soon. She felt her eyes sting with tears, threatening to fall any moment.
"I'm home". She muttered under her breath. "I'm home, I'm home".
"I'm Home"!!!. She yelled several times with the dam of tears breaking its barrier. She quickly unclogged her head from the window. Now all she had to do was survive this; she scanned through the room for any form of first aid instrument, at least that might keep her alive till she was rescued.
She was shivering with happiness, she felt too happy to do anything, her hand was shaky as hell, and her heart beat was beating so fast out of excitement, it was so fast as if she just ran a marathon.
She shut her eyes, taking a deep breath to calm her anxious self. She quickly took a heavy cloth, dipped it in water, and wrapped herself with it. Then she took a nose mask and also did the same, then put it on.
She used the wet towel wrapped around her to hold the hot doorknob, and also watched out for any fire debris.
As soon as she opened the door, she quickly ran towards...
"Wait, where am I?!!.
She questioned herself like a lunatic. She doesn't remember her house being so decorated like a huge wedding party, it had that expensive chandelier hanging from the ceiling. "Our chandelier looks nothing like this". She thought with her steps slowing down, unlike a minute ago.
She walked through the large corridor with slow and steady steps. Anybody watching would mistake her for a curious girl exploring a haunted house.
" But wait.. this place looks familiar, but why can't I remember?". She continued walking when she heard noises, it was like a big ray of light, she ran towards the source of the sound. It was as though if she didn't hurry up, she might return to that hellish place. Well, not hellish.. but just not her type. She ended up in a big, spacious room, which looked rough and untidy with drinks, food, and bottles of wine littered everywhere; it was a total mess. She felt a slight ache in her head.
"This place looks so familiar, but..why can't I remember?". She said, clutching onto her hair. But she quickly shook away any negative thinking hindering her and left the empty, littered room.
She soon got there, but what she saw gave her the shock of her life. She felt her heart stop and started beating again in a much faster rhythm. She could feel her heart beating in her mouth, and it felt as though time had stopped.
What she saw made her limp, and paralyzed. She was speechless, and all the happiness she once felt almost a minute ago vanished into thin air.
She didn't know whether to cry or to just stand there watching the scene of her being taken away on a stretcher into an ambulance.
She felt her heart squeezing in her chest, and the aching throat as topping to the pain she was feeling. Her heart almost died when she saw her mother crying like crazy she felt the pain getting much more worse and she couldn't even do anything. It pained her like crazy seeing her mother scrubbing herself on the floor, and people trying to console her.
She didn't even realize she was tearing up while watching the heart wrenching moment. She stood there like a statue watching her mom cry.
She didn't know why she wasn't going near her mom to console her even though they can't see her. She was just staring at the sad moment, she didn't want to get another heart break by passing through her mom, even though she was hundred percent sure she will.
Mira couldn't watch it anymore it was just too much for her fragile heart.. "So this is what my mom was feeling while i was away, and here i was thinking everything was under control". She thought within her, walking away from the disheartening scene.
"I have to find a way to escape this sticky situation". This time she said it out loud.
She looked around, the huge compound scrutinizing the surrounding,. " This place looks familiar" she repeated once more,
She already fogot the bad memory she just witnessed. If she wants to stop this she had to move forward and get over any obstructing emotions. She has to find a way out of this stupid mess.
She scanned through her memory trying to remember the place but her memory was blank of any, connecting to This. But then her eyes suddenly dilated with realization.
" THIS WAS THE PLACE SHE HAD HER 18th BIRTHDAY".
And today... Today was her 18 th birthday. How could she have forgotten something this important. Everything came flooding back to her.
It was her eighteenth birthday and she had it here, she remembered she was in her room which she lodged and then all she saw was smoke. And the next thing she knew she met her self in that mysterious realm.
"So that was what happened, how could i forget this" she spoke aloud since no one can hear her anyway.
She felt something tiny bloom within her she felt responsible and independent for what she just figured out, even though it was nothing but to her it was something. At least she was moving forward in this detective job she just got.
All the sad feeling deep within her decreased from 80% to 75%. She was so happy with the tiny ray of hope, at least that tiny ray of light would lead out of the dark cave she was in. And she has to hold onto it without losing
