Aeterna Hall

Hildr stood in front of everyone and passed her eyes through the crowd. After seeing Amelia in this place, she wanted to see who else had survived her massacre and was now in this place. She did not know all the faces of the people that had been at Lemuria Academy, but she was still able to identify those that had survived the incident by seeing their reactions to her presence in this place. These people had the same fear and anger that was within Amelia's eyes. Some of them wanted to even jump at her right there and then.

She noted all these faces before she began her speech.

"I am Hildr Draugadottir, Princess of the Draugr and heir to the Night King," she said. Her voice was surprisingly warm and comforting, which caught most people off guard.

She waited for everyone to digest this information. "Most of you know me as the Cursed Princess." When she said this, even more people recognized her. It was indeed true that most people did not know her real name. They only knew of the infamous Cursed Princess, whose tale was used as a warning to children who misbehaved.

She saw some of the students become so scared that their faces lost all blood. She was a little hurt that her name had been dragged through the mud to this level, but she remained calm.

"As you have just been told, I will be the Prodigy for this year's class. I hope we all become good friends," she said this before moving back to her seat. She had informed the academy of her title as the Cursed Princess so that she could get it out of the way. She knew that sooner or later, this name would spread all over the academy. It was better to deal with it now, before rumors began spreading. Just like that, the assembly came to an end.

Amelia was still in a rage even after the assembly. The students were led to another hall where they met with different advisors who separated them into different halls and also put them into groups of five. In each hall, there were dormitories, large rooms designed to accommodate five students. The academy wanted to foster close relationships between students who would normally never meet each other and thus never associate. They wanted these relationships to last through the lives of these students, leading to greater unity among the Otherkind.

Hildr did not care much about this stage until she reached her dormitory. There were thirteen halls for all the students. These were Aeterna, Pax, Nova, Legionum, Aurelian, Senatus, Drusus, Scipio, Cornelia, Prima, Aelius, Patria, and Mundi.

Hildr was placed in a dormitory in Aeterna hall. She did not care about where she was placed. Aeterna hall was located in the eastern part of the campus. The building was grand, and just by looking at it, one would feel the history that the place held. Some would call it a palace, and they would not be wrong in their judgment. Even though this was an academy, it was for the rich and noble. Even though some commoners made their way here, the few nobles were still the defining members of this academy. It was thus not too odd to see a palace as the dormitory.

Hildr entered the hall, and she was not displeased by the design and the flow of the place. The ceilings were high, and the walls intricately designed. She followed the directions on the magia in her hands to reach her dormitory. Before she opened the door, she felt as though something was off, but she did not think much. When she opened the door, the first person she saw was Amelia. The young woman looked at her with her eyes wide open and her heart as calm as a lake. She had been raging over the fact that this killer had been accepted to this academy, and she was even thinking about transferring to another academy when Hildr opened the door.

There was silence in the room. This was the common area from which the five students assigned to this dormitory would access their rooms. The tension in the room grew thicker with each breath Amelia took. There were three other girls in the room. They were also stunned that they had been assigned to the same room as the Cursed Princess, but they were far calmer when compared to Amelia.

Before they could understand what was going on, Amelia pounced on Hildr like a bat out of hell. Her fingernails became longer to form claws that could tear steel into shreds, and her eyes were completely red with a glow that could make human hearts stop beating. She moved with the swiftness of a predator and the decisive killing intent of a human. She clawed at Hildr with the aim of cutting off her head.

The claws shone in the light, making even Hildr stop for a moment in amazement. She could not believe that on her first day, so many things were going so wrong. She reached out and conjured a wall of water to block the woman from her. Amelia's claws tore the wall apart and dispersed the soul that was holding it together.

Slash, the claws ripped into the wall and even tore the door into pieces. Hildr was nowhere to be seen. Amelia felt a presence behind her, but she was too late as Hildr delivered a merciless blow to her head. The force behind the blow was enough to crush the skull of a normal human. Fortunately, Amelia was only half human. The blow knocked her out cold, but she was still alive. The other girls in the room cried out at the top of their lungs, but with a single glance from Hildr, they shut up immediately. They could see their death within her eyes.

When Amelia woke up, it had already been five hours. She jumped off her back with her claws already coming out. This time, even her fangs made an appearance, showing how determined she was to see this fight through to the end.
