What Have You Done To Me?

She had noticed her delicate hands earlier but had been too distracted to think anything about it. Her legs gave up, and she fell to the floor.

She can accept the idea of being addressed as Ivanna. She can take that much, but there was no way she would accept this.

"What have you done to me?" She asked out loud, but there was no response. She sprang back to her feet. "Talk to me. Why go silent now?"

She wanted the voice to reply to her. It has been playing in her head all along, so why can't it speak now?

Ping!

[For someone who doesn't know 18 is an adult, that's so much to say.]

"What? Who said I didn't? I was just…" she sighed, not knowing the right words to say

[If Ivanna wants, we can put host to the test.]

"I'm not having some lousy system prompt me."

Ding!

[System notification: -8 VP]

"What? I worked hard for that, you thief!" Ivanna says between gritted teeth.

Ding!

[System notification: -3 charms]

Her eyes widened in horror.

"You can't be serious, murderer, this is your plan!"

Ding!

[System notification]

[Loss: -8 VP.]

[Host has 25 VP and 7 charms left.]

Morgan ran her hand through her hair. Bitting on her lips to stop the next swear word. She can't risk losing all her points.

Since life has given her another chance, she won't throw it away.

She sits dejectedly on her bed, still trying to wrap her head around this mystery.

She is quiet.

Realisation slowly dawned on her as to what this is. She isn't dumb. She knew about the system, but all along, she had thought that only happened in books. She never expected to be given a second chance at life, and at the same time, she has been thrust into a system.

She raised her hand and looked at her slender hand.

She was also in another body. Ivanna Wellington. She stood and walked to the mirror. This girl was a beauty. Tall, slim with perfect shape, skin as white as jade and her facial features, oh my world.

Ivanna was perfect.

"System, at least tell me about Ivanna. I need to know who the body I'm occupying is."

Ding!

[Stage 4: Noble deceiver.]

[Memories will be unlocked in that level. For now, perform the task and level up.]

Morgan didn't know what to say.

"How did I get here?" She whispered to herself, returning to bed, and she plopped her legs up and rested her head on them.

Ding!

[System notification: system goal]

[Help host become the perfect villainess heiress, stylish, powerful, sharp-tongued, feared by rivals.]

Morgan tilted her head to the side.

A piece of memory slams her. She had made a resolve. When she was on the verge of losing consciousness after the accident, she vowed never to be kind. She wanted to be the villain; she still very much does.

She stood.

"Wait," something rushed through her. Maybe this wasn't all bad.

"Does this mean that I can be exactly what I want?" Maybe this was just what she wanted. She didn't need to suck at the thought of having a system.

Ding!

[System is here to help you realise your goal. Perform task, level up, and be the badass villain you've always wanted to be.]

Morgan leaps and high-fives the air.

"Oh my world. This is better than I thought."

Her heart beats fast from the excitement, and she breaks into dance. She shook her body and twisted her waist while humming under her breath.

The door suddenly burst open. Morgan stopped. She had her back to the door so she couldn't see who stepped in.

"Ivy, Ivy, oh my girl." That voice. "I am finally allowed to see you." She turned sharply.

"Jules!" She yelled.

She startled Julie by wrapping her hand around her and holding her tightly to herself.

"I thought I would never see you again." She broke down in tears. Julie froze.

Ivanna has never hugged her. Her hands were left hanging on the side. She didn't know what to do with it, so she ended up raising it over her head.

Morgan wasn't letting go, so Julie decided to make it less awkward by wrapping her hand around her too.

But then,

Ding!

[System notification: -8 VP.]

[Villains can be weak, you're such a crybaby, that would make a good title.]

Morgan pushed Julie off. Julie missed a step and fell to her butt.

"You damn…" she gritted her teeth to stop herself. How could they make her lose points?

Jules stood, wiping off the invisible dust off her butt. She should have kept her hand to herself. She caused this. She deserved to be pushed.

She knows Ivanna isn't the touchy type.

After calming herself, Morgan turned to see Jules standing on the side, eyes lowered. For someone who had barged into the room a while ago with full spirits, she sure went down quickly.

"Jules." She said, walking over to her. She picked up her hand. Jules squinted her eyes, this had never happened before either.

What's wrong?

Was she going to push her off again?

"Where have you been? You left me?" Morgan tried to hold back her emotions. The last thing she needed was those more points or Charm.

She will just earn more points so she can cry and feel sad without bothering to lose it. But for now, she needed to be strong.

She led Julie to the bed.

"I wasn't allowed in all this while. I've been trying to keep up with your schedule." Julie said, the smile coming back when she met Morgan's eyes.

"Ivanna, how do you feel? I've been worried sick. Young Master Gabriel allowed me in because he feared you hurt your head."

Morgan furrowed. Why would Julie refer to her as Ivanna?

"Jules, it's me." She pointed to herself, poking her chest with a finger. If Julie were here, it means one thing: she knew she was Morgan and she is not sick like the rest. Morgan desperately wanted to believe that Julie would recognise her in any form she took.

But she was wrong. Julie bubbled her head up and down.

"I know. And I'm sorry I wasn't with you when you got into the accident. I shouldn't have gone to school without you."

Morgan released a breath of relief.

"I knew you'd recognise." She nudged her playfully in her ribs.

"Were you trying to pull my legs?"

"Why would I do that?" Julie asked with a solemn look. She pulled her iPad out of her bag.

She had gone to school with Ivanna because Ivanna had instructed her not to go visit Slade with her. She wanted some time with her husband.

"Your schedule is packed. But I had to cancel some since you couldn't go for the shoot because of well…" she made a circular motion with her free hand.

"As you assistant cum manager, I have picked the next shoots for you, and here," she handed the iPad to Morgan, 'Plaza magazine wants you in their cover."

Morgan blinked rapidly. She tried not to allow herself to get carried away.

She was met with the sad reality that this Julie before her wasn't the same friend she knew before now.

In her first life, they had been best friends.

But in this life, Julie was her manager, and she could tell from the way Jule spoke and kept a respectful distance between their seats that Ivanna and Julie had a professional relationship.

This saddened her, but she quickly dispelled the sadness.

At least, she had her friend and the most important person in her life close to her. To Morgan, Julie will always be Julie. And things were bound to get different now.

"As for the fashion week in Fares, it's in two months, and you've been invited, but I don't think…" she inhaled, looked around and leaned over, "Your brothers may not agree."

The Fashion Week had been done. In her previous life, she had kept up with all the modelling events all over the world, since it was her dream to be a supermodel.

Wait, what day was it? She had not even asked about the date.

"What's today's date?" She suddenly asked, cutting Julie off, who was speaking.

"Sorry?"

"Date. Today's date."

"It's 12 May, 2032."

They were still in 2032. She had gotten into the accident on July 12, 2032.

Morgan's eyes widened at the revelation.

Things kept getting complicated. Not only is she living someone else's life and now has a system, but she has also been taken back in time.

How does all this make sense?

But unknown to Morgan, there were still a lot more surprises for her.
