Elias hadn't felt so good in a long time. It felt as though part of him was restored. He found himself smiling more times than he could count. Cyrus had indeed been right—the shadow in their life was removed. But that was not all Cyrus had said.
Elias sat up on the bed and leaned on the frame as his mind wandered off to hours ago. He had been cold, but suddenly all the pain vanished and he was back to his usual self. Rowan, who had been scared out of his mind, held him closer, not willing to let him go. But then duty soon called, and he was forced to leave.
Alone in the room with Cyrus, Elias turned to sleep, but the words of Cyrus had him turn.
"Why do you seek a truth that has been buried for decades?" Cyrus demanded, and Elias suddenly turned a little uncomfortable.
