"How is this possible?" Asher rose to his feet, scattering his hair.
He had been surprised to find himself on the bed when he was sure he had been burnt in the fire.
"Do you think Camille was also reborn? Could this be the reason for her cold attitude towards us?" Ethan suddenly thought of a weird scenario, and thus, he blurted the question.
Asher stopped pacing, turning to look at Ethan, an excited expression on his face.
"Do you think that is possible? Do we ask her?" Asher asked eagerly, but Ethan shook his head.
"We can't ask her, she would suspect us if we do so, but I am ninety percent sure that she was reborn," Ethan replied with a deep look on his face.
Asher's excitement dampened immediately, as his shoulders dropped. He sighed before taking a seat.
"What do we do now?" He asked with folded arms.
"Camille would not trust us, I wonder how we were so blind in the past," Ethan exhaled.
Asher could only lower his head, regret seeping deep into him.
"But we can make things right. We treated her badly in our previous lives, but now, we could make it up to her."
"This time, we will pamper her, and knowing Cleo's real color, we will deal with her." Ethan stated, determination burning within him.
Asher clenched his fists tightly, "Cleo would pay for what she did." He vowed.
"She will, but do not forget that we also contributed to Cam's situation. We should make it up to her before anything," Ethan pointed out with a cool tone.
"Yes, we need to make it up to her," Asher agreed, exhaling due to exhaustion.
While the two brothers were discussing, Camille was in the garage, and she was in the middle of a serious argument with Cleo.
"Can't you give in to me? We have always shared the same car, and since we have the same destination, isn't it right for me to use the same car as you?" Cleo asked, indignation evident in her voice.
Camille who was seated in the car looked at her, and she let out a scoff.
"Are you the daughter of the house?" She demanded, giving her a side eye.
"Let me give you a reply. No, you aren't, you are just a maid's daughter. Why should I allow you to use the same car as me? You could go to school by taking a cab or trekking," Camille suggested with a smile.
She didn't wish to have a confrontation with her. But Cleo caused it herself. She had tried forcing her way into the car, and she didn't mind if Camille was okay with her actions or not.
Cleo's face was twisted with rage, her fingers clenched by her side, and she was tempted to punch Camille.
"Do you want me to call your brothers? I am sure you know who they would side with," Cleo threatened, staring straight at Camille who wasn't paying attention to her.
"I suggest you find out if they really care about you first, from what I see, they don't really value you," Camille stated, staring at her through the corner of her eyes.
As expected, Cleo's feathers were ruffled. She lowered her head, as she began to wonder if what Camille said was the truth.
Could she have lost value in the eyes of the Leroy brothers?
Seeing the doubt on her face, Camille smiled triumphantly. She was the one in the position in her past life. She found it odd that roles could be reversed so easily.
"And also, you don't need to pretend to me, my brothers may be blind, but I can see properly, and I can see through your acts," Camille stated.
"I will call Ethan and Asher, let's see if you will be cocky then," Cleo finally decided to shed any trace of pretence. She wasn't ready to continue acting nice.
"You don't need to stress yourself, they are here already, why don't you tell them what I did?" Camille gestured for her to look behind her.
Just as she had said, Ethan and Asher were behind her.
Cleo, putting on an innocent smile, rushed to Asher's side. She held him by his arms, but he pushed her off instantly.
Cleo noticed this, and she bit her lips. Taking a deep breath, she said, "Asher, I fear Camille doesn't like me anymore, she doesn't want me to use the same car as hers, I really need to get to school early as I have to submit my assignments."
Asher looked at Camille who had a nonchalant expression on her face. It looked like she was eager to hear what he wanted to say.
"If she doesn't like you, then it is not an issue. If you have to submit an assignment, you could walk to school, or board a taxi," he replied with folded arms, not evening sparing her a glance.
Cleo parted her mouth in shock. She looked at Asher, before turning to look at Ethan, her final lifeline, but he wasn't even looking at her.
'Darn it, what's wrong with these brothers? Why the sudden change? They always stood by me, but why did they decide to have a change in character all of a sudden?' Cleo thought to herself, glaring at the brothers, with her hands clenched by her side.
Nevertheless, all her hatred was directed towards Camille. She felt that she was the reason for the sudden change in situations.
Camille blinked rapidly. She was surprised by the twist of events.
Camille blinked, stunned. She hadn't expected them to side with her, not after everything.
Asher leaned on the car window, his grin lazy but his eyes sharp. "If you want her gone, just say the word."
A chill ran down Camille's spine. These weren't the same brothers she had known before. Something had definitely changed. What had changed, she didn't know.
"John, take her to school," Asher instructed, stepping back.
The car sped off, leaving Cleo in a cloud of dust and disbelief.
"Let's go," Asher said.
Ethan nodded, both walking away without a second glance.
