The Next Morning
------------------------
Sunlight filtered through the dense canopy, casting golden rays over the small clearing. The camp was quiet, save for the gentle rustling of leaves and the occasional chirp of a Pidgey or rustle of a Caterpie in the underbrush.
Ash stretched and yawned as he stepped out of his tent, Pikachu already perched on his shoulder and looking surprisingly chipper for so early in the day.
"Morning, buddy," Ash mumbled, rubbing his eyes.
"Pika!" Pikachu nodded with enthusiasm.
Across the clearing, Misty emerged from her own tent, hair slightly tousled. "Good Morning. You're up early. Are you going to train?"
Ash grinned. "Yeah. I have already done everything in this forest. Other than going to Yellow's home there's nothing else to do. Next Stop would be Pewter City Gym."
Yellow followed soon after, sleepily rubbing her eyes. She blinked at Ash, then smiled faintly. "Good morning…"
Ash waved. "Morning! Slept okay?"
Yellow nodded. "Yeah. I had a nice dream… I think."
[Raphael: I bet it involved a certain someone offering Pokémon and headpats.]
[Ciel: Truly, the mark of deep affection.]
Misty smirked as she started gathering supplies for breakfast. "Alright, let's get something hot going before we hit the trail. We've still got some of that stew left, right?"
Ash nodded , took out some berries from his inventory. "Yup! And I picked up some berries a few minutes ago —found a cluster of Oran and Pecha trees nearby."
Yellow sat down and began helping Misty. "We should check on the Nidorans too. Make sure they're doing okay after last night."
Ash: "okay "took out their Pokeballs and called them out....
Coming out of their Pokeballs .....
As if on cue, a small commotion broke out. The male Nidoran came running out from behind a bush, looking both smug and overwhelmed as five female Nidorans followed closely behind, vying for his attention.
Misty blinked. "Uh… are they chasing him?"
Yellow giggled. "Looks like it."
Ash just sighed. "Yeah, that's been happening a lot since yesterday. I think they've decided he's some kind of prince because he is the only male one , I mean it's their mating season After all."
[Ciel : fufu master will be like this too after more family members join us]
[Raphael: If host doesn't intervene soon, we're going to need a dating system for your Pokemons too.]
Ash crouched down, holding out a hand as the Nidoran darted toward him for safety. He scooped him up and ruffled his fur affectionately. "You poor thing. You're not ready for this kind of drama."
Then he looked at Yellow, suddenly remembering last night's conversation.
"Oh, right—Yellow. Here. You can choose anyone that looks good to you."
Yellow thought for a while noticed one of them pretty close to Ash's nidoran and decided it to be her. Then she Used her Viridian powers to talk to that nidoran (f) if she wanted to become her Pokemon.
The female Nidoran beside her, blinking up at Yellow curiously.
Then she asked," ni ! Ni ! Ne !"
Translation: " If I become your Pokemon can I still become his mate ? " Pointing towards Ash's nidoran (m).
Yellow nodded her head , saying she can if she wants to. The Nidoran agreed.
"Hey Ash Nidoran agreed to become my Pokémon " Yellow said happily.
"Well Good for you " Ash smiled gently. He reached into his belt and tapped a Poké Ball.
Ash smiled and handed her the Poké Ball. "She's yours now. Only if you're okay with it, of course."
Yellow knelt down, gently petting the Nidoran. "Thank you, Ash… I'll take good care of her. I promise."
Misty looked between them with raised eyebrows and a smirk. "Gifting Pokémon in the morning light. That's a good move."
Yellow flushed. "It's not like that!"
[Ciel: It's exactly like that.I still remember she was blushing yesterday fufu.]
[Raphael: Yeah I noticed too.]
Ash laughed and rubbed the back of his head. "Well, I am planning on catching a lot more. Might as well spread the love, right? Don't worry Misty, when I catch a suitable water type Pokemon I will give you a gift too."
Misty's smirk faded and became flustered,
" Hmph who— who needs a gift from you? I can catch one myself. " Though she said it she was feeling pretty happy in her heart.
As breakfast wrapped up and the trio packed up camp, Ash glanced back toward the forest trail. " I'm thinking we should move quickly with pigdeot and by evening if we keep a steady pace We won't be far from Pewter City ."
Yellow looked at him thoughtfully. "I'll talk to Uncle today… but I think I want to come with you guys."
Ash smiled. "We'd be lucky to have you."
Misty nodded, slinging her bag over her shoulder. "Well I am sure your uncle would agree since you and Ash know each other since childhood he probably knows Ash can take care of you. "
Ash stepped forward, reaching for a Poké Ball on his belt. "Alright… let's see how you're doing, partner."
He tossed the ball upward, and with a burst of light and a powerful gust of wind, Pidgeot emerged. The majestic bird let out a proud cry as his wings spread wide, feathers shimmering in the dappled sunlight.
Ash shielded his eyes from the wind and smiled. "Haven't even ridden you once since you evolved, huh?" He stepped closer, running a hand along Pidgeot's sleek neck. "Let's give it a try."
Pidgeot nodded with a low coo, lowering its body and ruffling its feathers to make space. Ash climbed up carefully, settling onto Pidgeot's back as the bird flexed its powerful wings.
"Alright," Ash called down to Misty and Yellow, who watched with interest. "I'm just gonna do a quick flight loop, see how this feels. Then we'll all head out together."
[Ciel: Pidgeot's carrying prince charming now. This must be what fairy tales look like in bird culture.]
[Raphael: Just don't fall off, host. You're not insured for sky- riding mishaps.]
Yellow cupped her hands over her mouth, calling up, "Be careful!"
Misty crossed her arms with a faint grin. "Flying surely seems like fun."
With a beat of wings like thunder, Pidgeot launched into the air, lifting Ash with smooth, effortless grace. The ground fell away beneath them, and a gust of wind whooshed past the two girls as the majestic bird soared high above the trees.
Ash laughed, wind in his face, arms spread like wings. "This… is amazing!"
Pidgeot let out a proud cry, banking into a wide circle over the forest. The view stretched for miles — Viridian Forest to the south, the road to Pewter City ahead, the morning sun catching the tops of the trees in glowing light.
Ash leaned forward, patting Pidgeot's side. "You've gotten strong, buddy. Plus really cool."
Down below, Yellow shaded her eyes, watching him with a small, admiring smile.
Misty smirked, elbowing her. "You're totally thinking about what it'd be like to ride Pidgeot with him." [ A/N :- Careful Misty You are smirking too much don't become a Chinese mc pls with a crooked smirk ]
Yellow flushed. "N-No I wasn't! I was just… making sure he didn't fall."
After a few moments, Pidgeot circled back and descended gracefully. Ash hopped off, landing with a slight stumble and a big grin.
"Okay," he said, stretching his arms. "That was awesome. You two ready?"
Misty shouldered her bag. "Ready as I'll ever be."
Yellow smiled, brushing her hair behind her ear. "Let's go meet Uncle Wilton."
The three trainers turned toward the path leading deeper into the woods — and to Yellow's home .
-----
Yellow : "It's just a few minutes from here if we fly straight. There's a clearing where we can land."
Ash turned back to the girls. "Hop on! Pidgeot's got room."
Misty raised an eyebrow. "You sure it can carry all three of us?"
Pikachu, already on Ash's shoulder: "Pika-pi…" (Translation: "This is totally going to be crowded.")
Ash grinned. "Pidgeot can handle it."
Misty climbed up behind Ash, gripping his shoulders for balance. Yellow hesitated for a second, then followed, gently wrapping her arms around Ash's waist from the back as she settled into place.
"I-Is this okay?" Yellow asked quietly.
Ash blinked, then smirking "Yeah! Just hang on tight."
[Ciel: Oh ho… physical contact tactics hehehe.]
With a beat of mighty wings, Pidgeot took off once more, this time with all three riders.
The wind rushed past them, stronger now, and both girls instinctively held tighter — Misty pressing against Ash's back, and Yellow squeezing just a bit closer from behind.
The view was breathtaking. The canopy of the forest opened up beneath them like a sea of green, patches of sunlight streaming through. The air was crisp, and the thrill of the flight was undeniable.
Misty leaned to the side slightly to speak over the wind. "Okay, this is kind of fun!"
Ash laughed. "That's for sure!"
Yellow didn't speak, just rested her cheek lightly against Ash's back, a peaceful smile on her face. Her fingers clutched his jacket just a bit tighter — partly for safety, partly because… it just felt right.
[Ciel: Hoooo… that's not just support. That's snuggle-level tactics.]
After a few more minutes, Ash spotted the clearing Yellow had mentioned — a cozy little homestead nestled among trees, with a small vegetable patch, a water well, and a wooden cabin surrounded by wildflowers. And standing right outside, back turned to them, was an older man weaving something with straw.
As Pidgeot landed gently in front of the house, the man turned, revealing Uncle Wilton — a rugged-looking man with a thick gray beard and a kind expression. He held in his hands the nearly finished shape of a straw hat, just like the one Yellow always wore.
"Well hello what can I do for yo-… Yellow!"
He squinted, then brightened as he recognized the blonde-haired girl dismounting from the majestic bird.he called, setting down the straw hat and striding toward her with open arms.
Yellow hopped down and ran forward, hugging him tightly. "Uncle!"
Ash and Misty climbed off after her, standing by respectfully. Uncle Wilton gave Yellow a fond pat on the back, then turned toward the other two.
"Now, who's this young man and lady? Don't tell me you're Ash Ketchum? You've grown a lot since the last time I saw you."
Ash scratched the back of his head sheepishly. "Yup, that's me. Good to see you again, sir."
Misty gave a polite wave. "I'm Misty, from Cerulean City. I'm traveling with Ash."
Wilton raised an eyebrow and gave a knowing chuckle. "Two girls with you , huh? My, you must be pretty busy, Ash."
Ash turned awkward and said "It's not like that, sir !" Although it is true.
[Ciel: You really need to come up with better denials, master.]
Uncle Wilton just laughed, waving them toward the house. "Well, come in then. You've all come a long way, and it looks like you've got stories to tell. I'll finish Yellow's new hat later — I think you'll like this one, lass."
Yellow beamed. "Thanks, Uncle. And… I was thinking of traveling with Ash and Misty for a while."
Wilton's eyes twinkled. " Are you really sure you would be okay yellow? I don't have any problem with you travelling but you are not strong to Take care of yourself in the wild."
Yellow nodded seriously not in her usual playfully tone.
"Then we'd best make sure you're ready, eh?"
The three followed him toward the cozy cabin.
After packing everything Yellow might need in her travels in the backpack he warned her to be careful.
Patted Ash's shoulder and told him to take care of his niece. Ash nodded seriously.
Satisfied Wilton asked them for breakfast when they said no, they were going straight to Pewter city , he nodded and grabbed some Pokeballs and gave them to yellow saying they will be her Pokemons from now on.
---
As the three prepared to leave, Yellow stood beside Pidgeot, her straw hat now resting snugly on her head — the one her uncle had just finished crafting. She turned back one last time, eyes lingering on the small cabin that had always meant home.
"Thank you , Uncle. I will call you soon."
Uncle Wilton gave a soft smile and waved. "Just stay safe, Yellow. And Listen to Ash ,don't make trouble."
Ash, already mounting Pidgeot, grinned sheepishly. "I'll take care of her, sir. Promise."
Misty rolled her eyes. "You better take care of yourself too."
With a final beat of wings, Pidgeot took off, lifting the trio into the sky.
Uncle Wilton stood in the clearing, watching until they disappeared over the treetops. The wind gently rustled the wildflowers around him. He let out a long breath and chuckled softly.
"…Sis, your daughter's grown up now."
His hand moved to the brim of his hat, shading his eyes as he looked toward the horizon.
"But she has to walk her own path. Just like you did."
He stood there for a moment longer, the quiet hum of the forest surrounding him, before turning back toward the cabin — it was time for fishing again.
