Battle with the Fire Thief

Derick's avatar currently lacked speaking organs; commanding Nikador's minions relied on controlling their aura.

But now, facing the Flame Reaver, he truly couldn't say anything.

Big brother, can you give me a break?

Derick shouted loudly in his heart.

However, the Flame Reaver couldn't hear, and wouldn't care even if he could.

The black longsword arrived before Derick's avatar.

Derick's avatar couldn't possibly just submit to death. This time, having been enhanced, he reacted. Seeing the Flame Reaver's longsword, he held the scythe horizontally across his chest, blocking the attack.

The Flame Reaver was of normal human height, while Derick's avatar stood a full three meters tall; the size difference between them was significant. But in terms of strength, the situation was reversed.

Although Derick blocked the Flame Reaver's strike, his entire body was sent flying back dozens of meters, crashing heavily into a wall.

With a rumble, the surrounding walls collapsed.

The Flame Reaver was even more puzzled now.

Judging by the aura from the attack just now, he confirmed this black shadow was the same black creature he had seen some time ago. And while its strength was still insufficient, its improvement was quite remarkable.

If it improved a few more times, would it be able to fight him?

Also, he clearly remembered finishing it off thoroughly, yet it appeared again. How strong was its recovery ability?

The Flame Reaver now thoroughly detested this pitch-black fellow. This was a creature that appeared completely outside his plans; he hated things beyond his control the most.

Seeing Derick's avatar stand up again, the Flame Reaver attacked again with his blade.

Derick's avatar maneuvered the scythe to counter.

Even using only one weapon, the Flame Reaver easily suppressed Derick's avatar in battle. With a few slashes, the upper half of Derick's avatar was vertically split in two.

After attacking, the Flame Reaver stood aside.

It's over!

Seeing the Flame Reaver's action, Derick's heart instantly sank.

After cutting me down, this guy doesn't plan to leave but is observing from the side.

The recovery process of Derick's avatar wasn't under Derick's command. Under the Flame Reaver's gaze, Derick's avatar gradually reformed into its original shape.

Playing dead was impossible.

"This recovery ability is indeed impressive. Come, let me see the limit of your recovery power." Seeing Derick's avatar recover, the Flame Reaver picked up his longsword and continued attacking the avatar.

Derick quickly swung the scythe to block. After a few slashes, the Flame Reaver struck Derick's avatar's chest again. Then, the longsword stirred within the avatar's body, piercing a hole through Derick's chest.

Swish swish swish—

A few more slashes, and it was dismembered into four pieces again.

"Next, let me continue observing your repair."

The Flame Reaver waited for Derick's avatar to repair itself.

Soon, Derick's avatar finished recovering, and the Flame Reaver attacked again.

...

The situation that followed formed a strange balance. The Flame Reaver attacked, and Derick's avatar was quickly dismembered. Then, after being dismembered, it quickly recovered as if new.

The Flame Reaver continued attacking.

The avatar felt no pain, so Derick wasn't worried about any impact. After being slashed for a while, he started learning the Flame Reaver's sword techniques.

"Hmm, swinging the sword like this can increase speed."

"This feint followed by this strike can hit the vital point instantly."

"Wait, this low blow is well executed! Although the avatar doesn't have that function, learning it will be very useful against enemies in the future."

Derick felt he had gained a preliminary grasp of the Flame Reaver's sword techniques. He had killed and absorbed quite a few Condemnation Vanguards, gaining at least a basic understanding of weapon usage. Now, watching the Flame Reaver swing his blade up close, he could grasp some of it.

It was just that in the future, when others saw the Flame Reaver, and he used these techniques, it would be difficult to explain their origin.

Rumble...

Derick's avatar was slashed apart by the Flame Reaver and thrown left and right, smashing dozens of houses.

Watching this, he felt slightly irritated.

Why was it so weak, yet utterly unkillable? Even for the immortal Nikador, the Flame Reaver had a plan to kill Him. But facing this black fellow now, he couldn't think of any way to truly kill it.

Just as he was thinking, Derick's avatar slowly reformed again.

The Flame Reaver clenched his fists.

"It seems killing you is indeed a very difficult matter. In that case, I'll have to try another method," the Flame Reaver said softly.

Seeing the Flame Reaver's expression, Derick understood.

"Just waiting for you to say that."

Seeing he couldn't finish him off, the Flame Reaver would surely try to seal him. Derick had been preparing for this just now. Seeing the Flame Reaver act, he had no choice but to enact his plan.

It was just a pity he couldn't continue learning the Flame Reaver's sword techniques.

The Flame Reaver wanted to rush over and subdue Derick's avatar. However, just as he moved, numerous black figures appeared in the sky.

Condemnation Gladiators and Condemnation Vanguards descended one after another.

Their huge bodies fell at extremely high speeds, already prepared to attack. The Flame Reaver looked up at their movements and subconsciously took a step back.

What's going on? Doesn't this black shadow only carry some of Nikador's aura? How can it command so many Titan minions?

While being attacked, Derick had quietly emitted a distress signal.

An enemy is attacking Nikador's minions.

Although these monsters had poor thinking abilities—Derick could even make them commit suicide if he wanted—they were extremely sensitive to slaughter and attacks. Now, seeing someone dare to provoke them, they naturally couldn't tolerate it.

So, under Derick's command, hundreds of Condemnation Vanguards and even more Condemnation Gladiators appeared nearby. When the Flame Reaver went to seal Derick's avatar, he immediately summoned these guys to attack the Flame Reaver.

Seeing the Flame Reaver buried under these Condemnation Vanguards, Derick chuckled. Then, controlling the avatar, he turned and ran towards the depths of Castrum Kremnos.

Although the Condemnation Vanguards before him looked imposing and terrifying, they were much weaker compared to a true powerhouse like the Flame Reaver.

So many monsters could only delay the Flame Reaver for a short time. Once he dealt with these monsters, the Flame Reaver would continue to pursue him.

To deal with him, or rather, to escape him, he needed a sufficiently strong helper.

Derick controlled the avatar towards the depths of Castrum Kremnos, intending to find the Discord Titan Nikador.
