Dope book man! Thank you for writing this author
this novel has great potential! sadly the author keeps glazing Egyptian this Egyptian that to the point sacrificing Rome its self just to make alliance with Egypt and get Cleopatra. the amount of simpness on the MC for Egypt is insane,im starting to think the author is an Egyptian.
Just perfectly aligns with all my expectations and hopes. Fabulous 😔
Im enjoying reading this so far... the author is quite knowledgeable about Roman history… but I wish the writing style could be improved, as i feel the author needs to show and not tell.. I feel like each chapter is just Mc summarising things rather than letting us live in those moments… The time skips are a bit jarring too, as almost each chapter’s timeline is days, weeks, months or even years after the previous chapter. It’s difficult for the reader to get invested in events or characters, maybe slowing down the pace would be helpful (as only the first 1-3 chapters felt like a day to day life of the Mc where we could connect with the Mc and other characters, otherwise everything else seems rushed). At the current pacing? I feel this WebNovel won’t even have 100 chapters before the story ends. Plus the other character development is almost non-existent.. MC is the central character of course, but we don’t see any other characters being developed in detail (either as allies, rivals, etc.). Maybe doing perspective shifts would have been interesting (MC’s mother, his father, aunt, uncle, allies, friends, enemies, non essential characters such as soldier of Mc’s legion, slaves of his household, etc.). Plus I don’t understand the obsession with Egypt and Cleopatra.. even as a romance option she’ll be at least 15-20 years younger than the Mc, which just seems weird.. theres so much potential for the Mc to build romantic connections in Rome itself with other powerful families’ daughter(s).. I urge the author to take inspritation from authors such as Ben Kane, Anthony Riches, Harry Sidebottom, MC Scott, Douglas Jackson, Conn Igulden, and Mark Lawrence who are famous historical fiction authors and have written some amazing historical fiction novels of the Roman republic/empire/fall eras. Even as a transmigration to the past - Tyranny of Steel by another webnovel author can be a great inspiration for story/world building (in that one the Mc who is a 21st century soldier or scientist gets transmigrated/reincarnated to the late medieval era as the son of a baron/count in Austria). Well, this is just my feedback as a fan of rome based historical fiction novels. Reader score - Writing quality (4/5), updating stability (5/5), story development (3/5), character design (4/5), world background (4/5)
