CHAPTER 6 - Abusive Bikers.
Mmm… Well, setting aside that she's a little zombie girl, she looks absolutely adorable in those clothes!
Wow, I feel like a single dad with a daughter. Lonely life, you can go to hell; it wasn't a pleasure to meet you or live with you. Hello, single dad life!
"Yeah, it looks good on you. Aw, it even makes me want to take a picture of you!"
When we got home, I told Kiasan to put on comfortable clothes.
She's wearing a red skirt and a white blouse. I guess she'll be able to run faster in a skirt rather than pants. In a zombie apocalypse, speed is vital, especially with damn zombies that can run.
We're zombies, Kiasan, but that doesn't mean we'll be safe. The zombies are starting to show mutations, and we might come across zombies that attack us despite being zombies ourselves. We need to be ready to escape or, in the worst case, fight.
"Th-tha… Th-tha… Thank you."
Her voice is so adorable, though I wish she'd smile. She hasn't smiled at all… Well… I guess that's part of her charm.
"Let's store some food. I think there was a backpack in the closet. I'll look for another one in the other rooms."
There's a chance the information about the shelter is fake.
If the information is false, I'll have to stick with that lady for longer.
We'll need food, water, clothes, weapons, and other things. Before we leave this place, I'll check the houses for items that could be useful. It'd be a waste to have cleared the area and not take anything from the other houses.
Alright, Zei, let's move!
•
•
"Good afternoon!!"
I broke a door down with my body.
I decided to investigate the other houses to look for useful items, since I won't always have opportunities like this to find places with lots of valuable things for our survival.
Plus, I plan to give half of my stuff to the lady and her son so they can survive if the shelter turns out to be fake. It's too dangerous for her to come with me, so I'd prefer she survives on her own with her son and doesn't risk me killing her if I lose control again.
We'll need a lot of food for the future, so we can't waste nearly unique opportunities like this to loot a place that hasn't been looted yet.
…
…
…
Mmm…
"Can I jerk off to the picture of your wife, sir…? Nothing…"
No one's in the house, again. That's weird. The doors and windows of most houses were intact, but there's no one inside. Did no one decide to stay inside…? The lady and her son were on the roof of their house, so I guess they had to climb up because zombies had gotten into their house, or maybe they were waiting for military help.
Zombies have enough strength to break doors and windows, so they wouldn't have trouble getting into houses, but… Ugh… This is too strange. How did everyone in the town get infected? The zombie apocalypse must've started after midnight, when most people are asleep, and this whole place was overrun with zombies.
The lack of cars makes it clear that some people had time to escape, but all the houses are practically untouched, with food and clothes. Did they escape in such a hurry that they didn't take anything?
How is it possible that the zombie apocalypse spread so much in so little time? Was the initial infection so brutal that people didn't even hesitate to flee without taking anything?
The houses were locked, so here's my biggest question. Who locked them? If people escaped without time to grab food, did they have time to lock the doors? It's illogical. If you're fleeing for your life, why worry about leaving the door open? It makes no sense.
This zombie apocalypse is really weird, in every possible way.
First, it spread too fast.
Second, the existence of special zombies, like the Cyclops zombie and me.
Plus, there's also the fact that abilities exist… Magical abilities? Ugh, I don't know.
This whole situation is too weird and hard to understand. I hope one day I find answers to my questions. For now, I'll focus on surviving.
"All the houses are empty. That lady got lucky; she'll be able to get a ton of food."
I started searching… It's a shame there are no cars in this place. Having a car would let us carry more food.
"And my motorcycle is loud; I can't take it."
We need to travel on foot to avoid attracting the attention of those zombies… Huh?! What's that?!
Explosions…? N-no, this sound is… gunshots?
I hear gunshots… Huh? Survivors? And I don't have my glasses! Argh! I need to avoid being seen!
Should I hide…? Kiasan! I have to protect her! If they find her, they'll kill her!
I ran out of the house… Huh? Those people are…
"The bikers?"
Tch. They found me.
There's a group of bikers looking at my motorcycle.
Oh, shit.
"The thief's hiding here!"
You stole my car and my food, you're the thieves…! Argh! Kiasan!
Kiasan! Shit! Please, escape!
There are about 15 people… That's too many! If they shoot me in the head, I'm dead! Think, Zei, think… What kind of man would I be if I can't protect a little girl?
Come on, Zei, think of something. Think of something! Argh! Screw it, I'll improvise whatever!
They were about to enter the house, but my shout stopped them.
"Idiots!! Are you mad because I stole your stupid motorcycle?! Crybabies!! Why don't you come suck my dick instead?! Your moms loved it, so you'll love it too!!"
They turned to look at me, and I quickly ran back into the house like the coward I am.
T-that should be enough to make them mad and come after me, keeping them away from Kiasan. Now I'll have to fight! Argh!
"There he is!!"
They started shooting at me… Don't they care about wasting bullets?
I ran into a room and saw an elderly zombie. Oh, so there was someone here. But why didn't my shout alert it? What if my shouting in the houses didn't alert any zombies that might've been there? I only checked their kitchens, not the rooms… Why didn't my shout bother them? Screw it, I don't have time for that, I need to…! I need to… Mmm…
I look at the elderly zombie, and a smile creeps onto my face.
Fufu. I've got an idea.

The bikers entered the house looking for Zei.
"Surround the house."
Half of them went outside to surround it, and the other half stayed inside to search for him.
"Don't make this harder, kid. If you turn yourself in, you'll have a less painful death."
One of them entered a room without a care, and the zombie inside attacked them.
Zei had covered the zombie's mouth with his hands to keep it from making noise, and when the door opened, Zei pushed the zombie toward them.
The zombie bit one of them in the neck, and the others started shooting it, giving Zei time to attack since they got distracted shooting the zombie.
Zei came out of the room and attacked them with his bare fists.
There were 7 people inside the house.
One died from the zombie's bite, leaving only 6.
Zei used all his strength to knock out 3 of those 6, leaving 3.
They started shooting at him mercilessly.
They shot him in the chest since he jumped to avoid getting hit in the head, and Zei fell to the ground, pretending to be dead.
"Damn son of a bitch!"
They put away their weapons, thinking it was over. Big mistake.
Zei grabbed the gun of the unconscious man next to him and quickly stood up.
He shot the 3 in the chest and started hitting them in the head, not caring if they ended up dead. All Zei cared about at that moment was keeping Kiasan safe, so he lost a bit of control.
The other bikers entered the house, and Zei escaped through a window just in time before being seen. The window was shattered from the gunfire, and as Zei jumped through, he cut his abdomen on the remaining glass shards.
He touched his abdomen, worried his guts might spill out, but was surprised to realize his wound was regenerating quickly.
He sighed and decided not to think about it for now, since he still had to fight.
"T-there are still a lot left," Zei said, scared, as it was the first time he faced a life-or-death situation.
Before jumping out the window, Zei grabbed two guns from those men and checked the bullets.
"Two left in one, one in the other. Three bullets…"
"He must've escaped through the window!" one of them said, noticing the broken window with blood.
Three of them quickly approached the window.
Zei, hearing the footsteps, closed his eyes and sighed.
"Don't fail me now."
Zei jumped, re-entered the house, and started shooting.
They met him with gunfire, but Zei had the advantage because, unlike them, Zei doesn't feel pain, and they do.
The other bikers were checking the bodies when Zei came in, and Zei took advantage of their distraction to attack.
There were 8 people.
With the three bullets he had, Zei shot the three people who met him with gunfire.
He hit two in the throat and the third in the head.
Five people remained.
They tried to attack Zei, and he jumped.
They started shooting his body, but since Zei doesn't feel pain, he didn't care.
He kicked one in the head, and the others ran out of bullets.
Realizing this, Zei winked.
"Fufu. You should've aimed for the head."
Zei smiled, and they started trembling in fear, noticing the color of Zei's eyes.

(Pov - Zei.)
Ouch… Ugh… I-I was too lucky. Seeing me survive those shots scared them so much they didn't think clearly and kept shooting my body. I-I did it. I survived… But I had to kill… I'm a murderer.
… Ugh… They did something worse; I shouldn't feel pity for them.
I went into the house to make sure Kiasan was okay.
Kiasan was packing food into a backpack when I entered the house. Good, she's fine. Thank you.
"Done yet?"
"A-almost… d-done…"
Kiasan turned to look at me and immediately approached me.
"W-what?"
"Don't worry, I don't feel pain… And I'm not bleeding. My wounds closed."
My clothes were filthy with blood and full of holes. I was lucky they thought I was a normal human and shot my body.
"I killed people… I should feel bad… But… They tried to kill me first and stole my car… They were bad… Better not think too much about it. What's done is done."
I took a water bottle from my backpack and started drinking.
"Ah. I feel better."
"W-water…"
"Want some? Here."
I gave her the bottle, and she started drinking.
"We need to store water… How much water should we drink? We'll figure it out later."
I lowered the backpack and took out the stuff. I wasn't going to waste my chance to grab weapons. They had plenty.
Kiasan and I are zombies; our bodies are our own weapons, we don't need these things, but normal humans do.
"The bikers had a lot of weapons and ammo. We don't need them, so we'll give them to normal people. If the shelter doesn't exist, we'll use them to protect the lady and her son."
Kiasan nodded.
"And we'll take the chance to go to these people's shelter. Let's go."
"S-shelter?"
"I left one of them alive and promised I'd let him live if he told me where their shelter was. He told me, and then I killed him."
"K-killed?"
"… I seem like a monster, don't I? Even though I killed in self-defense, I committed murder… But they were the real monsters. When we get there, you'll see what I mean."
I killed in self-defense. It was kill or be killed. It was necessary. Don't feel bad, Zei; it was necessary to survive.
… Every day that passes, this world turns me more and more into a real monster.

After a short 20-minute trip, we arrived at a large house in the middle of the forest.
"According to what that guy told me, this house belonged to a rich old man, but they killed him to take the property."
I took Kiasan's glasses and put them on.
"Please, close your eyes. I don't want you to see what's inside. It won't be pretty."
Kiasan nodded and closed her eyes.
She took my hand.
"No matter what happens, don't open your eyes."
I brought the weapons and two backpacks full of clothes because "they" will need them.
I put on new clothes, I have glasses, and I don't have any wounds… Yeah, it's fine… They won't be scared of me.
I entered the house… It should be around here… Here it is. The basement door.
I opened it, turned on the lights, and started going down the stairs.
"Careful."
"Y-yes."
… Those sounds…
I hear women crying… Tch. Those bastards.
I went down and turned to my right.
20 women, chained and naked… Before, I felt bad for killing them, but now, just remembering their deaths makes me happy.
"Sicko!! She's just a little girl!!"
"Don't you have enough with us?!"
"Pedophiles!!"
They're furious… I don't blame them. After everything they went through, I wouldn't be surprised if they never trust a man again.
This world has gone savage, and people are taking advantage of it.
"I killed the men who kidnapped you."
"Huh?"
"She's my little sister; her name's Kiasan."
"H-hi," Kiasan said, raising her hand.
I took some keys out of my pocket and tossed them to them.
"Listen, please. Near this place, there's a town free of zombies. You can go and get all the food you want. It hasn't been looted."
I left the weapons and the backpacks with clothes on the ground.
"These are weapons and clothes. There's food in the town. I recommend bringing the food here. This house looks comfortable. With the keys, you can free yourselves."
I guess there's no need to say what those men did to them, and I don't want to think too much about it either.
"The men who made you suffer are dead. Goodbye."
I started going up the stairs… I'm sure there are more men like that in this world… The sickos will take advantage of the situation.
Kiasan, I promise to always protect you. I won't let any sicko lay a finger on you.
"Z-Zei… T-they… w-were… r-raped, r-right?"
"… Yeah."
"Y-you… d-did… a g-good… j-job… T-they… T-they d-deserved… i-it."
"No matter the method, as long as you do the right thing. Murder is wrong, but I don't care."
I'm sure it won't be the first time I have to face evil people.
But no matter what happens, I'll push forward and protect Kiasan.
I couldn't protect my mom. I couldn't protect Erick and the girls… But I won't make the same mistake. I'll protect the lady and her son… I'll protect Kiasan.
