Chapter 63: Emma

I woke up in the plush bed of our Seattle penthouse suite, the morning light of the city streaming through the windows. Stretching, I took a moment to appreciate the luxury of the room I had all to myself. Despite the lavishness, there was an emptiness to it.

Getting up, I wandered into the living area, where Liam was already up and dressed, gazing out at the Seattle skyline. He turned as I entered, his smile holding that familiar mix of charm and mystery.

"Morning, sleepyhead," he greeted, his voice smooth. "Good night’s rest, I hope?"

I nodded, excitement bubbling inside me. Seattle was a far cry from Maple Falls, and I was eager to see the place that had shaped Liam. "Definitely! But first, coffee. I need to fuel up if you're going to show me around your old stomping grounds."
