Chapter thirty-one

I looked at Reid with a warning. He'd been beating around the bush all morning. "For fucks sake. Are you gonna say it, or do I have to punch it out of you."

He chuckled. He found my impatience amusing. What he didn't realize was, I was actually very close to throwing a punch his way.

"I don't think Nichole would want you to know."

"Reid…" I glared.

He raised his hands in surrender. "I'm only telling you this because I think it's unfair that she's suffering alone. But, how is it that I know what goes on in your company better than you do?"

I wanted to tell him it was because he was always here, hovering. And if I didn't know him any better, I'd have thought he was a bum. But he was actually doing great things for his company. Besides, I know now the specific reason why he made my company his second home.

One word. Gianna.

"Apparently, Gracie started the rumor that Nichole had seduced you and had slept with you just to get her job back. Now everyone's talking about her."
