"Just found out? You’ve been pranked," Juan said, calm but lethal. "Did you think any Black Horizon member was ever allowed to attend your wedding? Forget them—did you even invite Feli?"
"I… I don’t really know, Pa. I didn’t handle any of that," Lynn answered, sincerely lost.
"Exactly. That’s Adinda for you. Oh, and she made you pay for the wedding. All fifteen billion," Juan snorted.
Lynn stared at nothing, trying to comprehend why his life had gone so bizarre. If he hadn't caught Adinda swapping spit with another man, he'd probably still be her personal walking ATM. Just a pretty bank account with legs. But thank God he got out before the fire spread.
Now, Feli had taken Adinda’s place—not as a replacement, but as someone who somehow made life chaotic in a different way. Slightly more... hilarious.
Lynn rushed into the bathroom. He looked at his reflection, splashed his face a few times, then sighed like a soap opera protagonist with amnesia.
