"This is… not good!"
Wade's pupils shrank sharply.
Alex's eyes at that moment—weren't they exactly like that guy he'd captured recently, the one who could shoot lasers from his eyes?
Could this guy shoot lasers too?
Zzzzt!
The next second, two blazing beams of heat vision shot straight at Wade.
A chilling sense of death washed over him.
At such close range, he had no time to dodge.
But Wade wasn't just anyone—he was Stryker's top enforcer, someone with cheat-level strength.
Even under a rain of bullets from close-range submachine gun fire, he could slice down every round with dual blades. Killing a monster like this? Not so easy.
Clang!
With a sharp metallic sound, Wade drew the longsword strapped across his back and raised it in front of him just in time.
Boom!
Alex's heat vision slammed into the blade, sending a massive shockwave through it that knocked the sword back into Wade's chest.
The force sent Wade flying, smashing into the ground like a dead dog.
But Alex didn't stop—his heat beams continued to chase Wade down, trying to slice him apart. Wade, however, moved like a monkey, leaping and darting in every direction.
It was dangerously close, but somehow, he managed to evade the deadly rays—at least for now.
Could Alex kill Wade in just five seconds?
No one knew for sure.
Alex was confident that with a little more time, he could definitely take Wade down. But five seconds? Honestly, it was cutting it close.
And to make matters worse, Stryker's other special agents weren't just standing around.
Whoosh whoosh whoosh!
A few faint sounds broke through the air—tranquilizer darts shot toward Alex from multiple directions.
Compared to regular bullets, these darts were slower—far slower. With Alex's enhanced vision and dynamic perception, he could track them easily.
And his reaction time? More than enough to keep up.
So instead of dodging, he simply raised his hands and swept them through the air.
Thunk thunk thunk!
He caught every dart cleanly in his palms.
"Heh…"
Alex glanced at the agents who had fired at him and let out a cold chuckle.
Then with a flick of his wrists, he threw the tranquilizers back like throwing knives.
Zzzzt zzzzt zzzzt!
The darts sliced through the air, becoming blurred shadows as they flew.
The force behind them was even greater than if they'd been fired from a dart gun.
The agents didn't even have time to react before the darts struck them down.
Not only did the impact knock them flat, it was like being blasted by shotgun shells.
Gulp.
Several agents nearby audibly swallowed. All of them stared, completely dumbfounded.
They knew they were up against a mutant—but this was way beyond their expectations.
As Stryker's elite forces, they'd seen mutants before. In fact, the island held plenty of them.
Sure, those mutants had all sorts of strange abilities—but very few were actually dangerous in a fight.
Even someone like Sabretooth hunted them with ease. That showed the general power level of mutants at this stage.
But someone like Alex? That level of brute-force domination was almost unheard of.
Whoosh!
A sudden gust—Wade had regained his footing and was now charging at Alex with both blades in hand.
The twin swords glinted with a chilling light as they swung toward Alex with vicious momentum.
But with Alex's current speed, there was no way Wade would land a hit.
He flickered like a shadow, using his super speed to sidestep instantly.
Clang clang!
Wade's twin blades struck the ground, sending sparks flying.
At that same moment, Alex had already appeared behind him.
His steel-hard fist slammed forward like a hammer.
If it landed, Wade's chest would be smashed just like those werewolves back at the bar.
But Wade wasn't just some random grunt.
It was like he had eyes in the back of his head—his right hand twisted around, and his sword stabbed backward, aimed straight for Alex's heart!
Alex had no choice but to abort his strike and twist out of the way.
In that fleeting instant, Wade completed his turn and lunged again, blades flashing as he launched another deadly assault.
"No wonder you're Deadpool," Alex muttered, a glimmer of admiration flashing in his eyes.
Wade's movements were too clean—especially with those swords, he wielded them like an artist.
Even with Alex moving at nearly 80 meters per second, it was still difficult to land a killing blow.
After all, no matter how fast Alex was, could he be faster than a bullet?
Wade could slice bullets out of the air. Keeping up with Alex? Totally within reach.
The easiest way to take Wade down was still with heat vision. But unfortunately, Alex couldn't fully control it yet—at least, not freely.
Still, that didn't mean he couldn't beat Wade.
There was a clear gap in their overall power. If Alex really wanted to kill him, he definitely could.
It would just take a little more effort.
"Well, I'll just say—Victor really didn't die in vain."
While Alex was mentally praising Wade, Wade himself was also thoroughly impressed by Alex.
As a sword master, Wade could see that Alex's combat skills were complete garbage—no form, no flow, no technique.
But even so, he still couldn't get the upper hand.
There was only one explanation: Alex's physical strength was simply too insane—far beyond even Sabretooth.
In fact, if Sabretooth didn't have his insane healing, his animalistic strength alone wouldn't even be a challenge for Wade.
"You won't be dying in vain either," Alex said, quirking a brow at Wade.
Then his eyes landed on a tree nearby.
A slow smirk spread across his face. "You've got weapons… but I'm empty-handed. Doesn't seem fair, does it?"
As he spoke, Alex stepped up to the tree—thick as a man's thigh—and grabbed it with both hands.
Crack crack crack!
Chunks of dirt and roots burst from the ground as he pulled.
Under the stunned eyes of everyone around, Alex ripped the whole tree out of the ground!
Whoosh whoosh whoosh!
He gave it a few test swings like it was a practice staff. Honestly? It felt pretty damn good in his hands.
