Before they even reached the door it closed on its own. The passage to the basement also got sealed. 11 torches lit up. Same as in the basement. But only this time they glowed brightly, almost blindingly. The book began shaking. It flew out of Tony's hands towards the middle of the room. There it stood stationary facing towards them. Taiji started to move but the book began shaking again. The pages began flipping, quickly, faster than the eye could see. In an instant the whole room, with an exception of the wall opposite of them, was covered in old paper.
Paper opposite of them contained the original text of the book. Pictures on every page and text in an old language they did not know how to read. But something seemed familiar. Eerily familiar. Tony stepped forward looking at one page. On it was a picture of his sword, Mirai, with a symbols around it. Some resembled those of ancient Valon, some of Tornell but others were totally indecipherable. Tony managed to read a few words from the old Tornell language, Trile.
"Sword, future, past, nowhere, somewhere, wall"
He did not know what these were supposed to do as a lot of the context was missing. He guessed the connection between "sword" and "future".
"Mirai means future. Along with sword it would make... My Omniblade. Others must be connected to it somehow. Only thing right now that makes sense is past, as it is connected to future with time. But others make no sense."
As he was standing there, trying to decipher it, the empty pages on the walls began dissapearing.
"Tony, its a timer, whatever you want to do, do it quickly, we don't have long judging from the speed of disappearing paper."
Tony didn't move. He didn't see a connection. It was a lost cause. As the timer ran out, he let out a deep sigh.
"Well this was all for nothing."
"Not quite. We learned that the temples have some kind of connection to the Blades. If we keep looking we may be able to get the answers in full. Are there any other temples near here that you remember?"
"No. Each temple is in its own galaxy as they emit too much power. If there were more than one, the power would destroy the galaxy, or even more."
He stopped to catch his breath. He wasn't happy with the situation. Neither of them learned anything new about their powers. He viewed it as a complete defeat, unlike Taiji, the forever optimist.
"Right now we should go to the Jigen temple. Maybe we will have more luck there"
As they left the temple it began sinking underground. Slowly it sank all the way down, completely covered in sand, with no traces of anything ever being there. They took a moment to grasp that such a huge building, holding so many secrets, just sank, and will probably never be seen again. They made their way back to the ship. When they reached it they immediately went to sleep. They didn't need food or water but they did need sleep, only much less commonly than others. After a good sleep they went to the control panel to check all the damages sustained in the crash. None of the previous alerts were there. It was strange, but due to all the things they've seen recently, they just chalked it up to the temple doing its thing. Nothing was critically damaged so they could immediately set out to the Jigen temple. It would take a while as the galaxy was far away, but its mot like they had anywhere better to be.
