Hero ceremony (3)

On the surface, I had a surprised and confused look.

But deep down…

"I never thought that she would be this direct about this. Though it does save me time if she's going to do something like this."

"What do you mean?" I asked in a slow voice.

"I said that I would bring you to the hero ceremony, so that's why I'm asking you if you're ready." Amy said with the same smile on her face.

The others that were watching had different reactions, but the one that had the biggest reaction was the lord.

He looked like he was completely crushed by Amy's reaction.

It was as if he wanted to charge forward and pull me away with the way that he glared at me, but it wasn't as if he had completely lost his mind. He knew that if he actually did this, he would be immediately beaten and taken away.

So the only thing that this lord could do was glare at me.

But no one cared about him at all.

In fact, I was looking forward to seeing what kind of reaction he would have later.

"Isn't this a bit too much?" I couldn't help asking to maintain my cover.

But in the end, Amy didn't even bother answering as she raised her hands in front of her as if she was about to pray.

The moment that she did, the altar that was behind her started to react.

There was this bright white light that came from the altar, as if something was about to come from it.

I was the only one that had an amazed look, no one else seemed that surprised. Though in reality, I wasn't actually surprised since I knew exactly what was happening.

What was inside of the altar was the thing that I wanted and this was the thing that was reacting, causing the light to appear.

Now it was all about if this thing would accept me or not.

With the saintess inciting it, it didn't take long for the light to suddenly come out of the altar and land on me.

As it surrounded me, it was like the light was testing me.

At first, the light seemed to dim as if it was about to fade which made the lord look like he had won the lottery. The way that his expression changed was as if he couldn't wait to say a few choice words.

The paladins and priestesses that came with us looked a bit concerned.

It wasn't that they were worried about me, it was that they were worried about Amy. She had been the one who said that something special would happen if I was brought here and now this was the result…

It was only Amy who was still confident even though she saw the light dimming.

Well, I was confident as well since I knew that this was just how the ceremony went from my experience from the game.

It would dim first to reset before actually measuring the capabilities of the one undertaking the ceremony.

So it didn't matter if it dimmed now.

What mattered was how bright it would become after this.

But I was confident in this as well since there was a reason why I had set my stats the way that they were set. Or at least there was a reason why the main body had put my stats like this.

Only it didn't seem like things were going the way that I thought it would.

After the light dimmed, it didn't seem to react at all.

I wasn't the only one that was surprised by this, Amy was also surprised when she saw this reaction from the light.

That was because she knew that once the light dimmed to this point, it should have become much brighter.

Only the light didn't seem to change at all.

No, when I looked closely, I could see that the light was changing just a bit. The brightness of the light was increasing by the slightest bits that it almost didn't seem like it was increasing.

But to someone that looked closely, they would be able to see that it was indeed changing.

Only this shouldn't have been the case since I had max affinity for light magic and maxed out willpower which was what this thing was looking for.

Why was it such a lukewarm reaction?

As I was thinking about what could have gone wrong, I was caught off guard by the sudden increase in light in this area. When I came back to my senses, I found that it was the light around me that had suddenly become stronger.

This light that had seemed dim suddenly burst forward around me and soon I was covered in bright light like I had expected.

"What is going on? Why was there this delay?" I couldn't help thinking to myself.

But I didn't have much time to think about it as the light that was around me became stronger and stronger.

As the light became stronger, there was something that happened with the altar as well.

It started to shake before there were cracking sounds that rang out.

Everyone's attention was drawn by the altar when they heard these cracking sounds and they found that there was something that was breaking its way out of the altar. Looking closely, it seemed to be some kind of handle that was making its way out of the altar.

"He actually woke it up?" The lord said in a shocked voice.

But he was the only one that was this shocked.

The others were surprised to see this, but the look on their faces was as if they had already been expecting this. After all, Amy had already said that she foresaw something different happening, so they had prepared themselves.

Still, it was surprising to see this happen with their own eyes.

After all, the appearance of this sword meant that there was a new hero that was about to be made.
