Location: Kane Tower – Command War Room
The command center blazed with urgency. Screens flickered with live feeds, tactical maps, and heat signatures of the descending Dominion fleet. Victor Kane stood at the helm, his suit jacket gone, sleeves rolled up, a hardened gaze in his eyes.
"Report," he barked.
"Seventeen Dominion-class cruisers inbound," Peter Musyoki responded, pulling up the holographic battle map. "Four of them are armored carriers. They're deploying aerial sentries and pulse cannons as they descend."
"Estimated time to contact?" Victor asked.
"Eight minutes," Linda Okello said, already donning her combat exosuit. "They're bypassing civil zones and heading straight for this building."
"They're here for the boy," Nora muttered. "This isn't an invasion. It's an extraction."
Victor's eyes narrowed. "Then we give them nothing."

Location: Hangar Bay – Kane Tower
The interior of Kane Tower shifted with military precision. Hidden compartments opened across walls and ceilings, revealing turret cannons, drone bays, and automated defense units. The Kane family's secret paramilitary force—Shadow Aegis—emerged from the shadows, moving in coordinated silence.
"All ground units, form perimeter lockdown!" the intercom shouted. "Activate Arc-Barricades. Set defense drones on intercept!"
At the far end of the hangar, a sleek black aircraft—K-9 Phantom Hawk—powered up, its twin wings opening like claws.
Linda climbed in. "Permission to hunt?"
Victor's voice responded over comms. "Light them up."

Location: Dominion Cruiser "Nightcoil" – Bridge
General Varnak stared down at the glowing lights of Tavara's capital city. He traced a clawed finger across the surface of his war map, targeting Kane Tower.
"They're defending well," said his lieutenant.
"They delay the inevitable," Varnak hissed. "Deploy the Shadowlance. Aim for the eastern shield generator. Break their shell."
A compartment opened beneath the cruiser, and a spear-like object—three stories long—descended. Glowing with dark matter, it locked onto the city's defense grid.
Then it fired.
---
Location: Kane Tower – East Wing
The Shadowlance tore through the sky like a meteor, colliding with the east barrier. A blinding flash erupted, shaking the tower to its core. The eastern Arc-Barricade flickered.
"They breached the east shield!" someone yelled.
Peter swore under his breath. "They're trying to create a breach zone!"
"We hold," Victor said. "Divert backup. Nora, take Zuri and Eli to Sub-Level 5. If they break through, they won't find him."
Nora nodded, grabbing Zuri's arm. "Let's move."
Victor turned to Linda, whose aircraft was now airborne. "Engage their aerial fleet. No mercy."
"Copy that," she responded, voice steel. "Time to clip some wings."
---
Location: Skies Above Tavara
Linda's Phantom Hawk screamed across the skyline, dodging plasma fire. She fired back with razor-precision, two cruisers erupting into flames behind her.
"Three down," she muttered. "Seventeen to go."
Suddenly, a Dominion specter-warrior teleported onto her wing, hurling a red blade at her cockpit. She tilted hard, sending him flying into the rotor of another ship.
"Nice try, creep."

Location: Sub-Level 5 – Secure Chamber
Nora placed her hand on a glowing wall panel. It scanned her biometrics, opening the vault door. Inside was a sealed chamber bathed in ethereal light.
Eli stood at the center, calm—too calm.
"Something's coming," he said softly.
Nora looked at him. "We know. But you'll be safe here."
Eli didn't answer.
Instead, he touched the chamber floor—and it lit up with runes none of them recognized.
"They think I'm still asleep," he whispered. "But I'm not."
