Echoes of the Past

Location: Kane Tower – Sub-Level 5, Sealed Chamber

The glow from the runes beneath Eli's feet grew brighter, illuminating the chamber in an otherworldly light. Nora and Zuri stood frozen as symbols spiraled around the boy in slow, synchronized patterns. Neither of them could decipher the meaning—but something deep and ancient stirred within those glowing signs.

Zuri took a hesitant step forward. "Eli, what are you doing?"

Eli didn't blink. His voice, calm but distant, carried a strange weight. "I'm remembering."

Location: Flashback – Hidden Temple, The Ancestral Realm

An ancient voice echoed in Eli's mind, one he hadn't heard in years—yet one he had known forever.

"The lineage of watchers flows through you, Eli Kane. What was locked within shall awaken when darkness rises again. When the war of blood and empire reaches your doorstep, your true name shall be known."

He saw flashes—memories not his, yet strangely familiar.

A figure cloaked in golden robes held a staff of swirling flame.

An enormous beast with seven eyes bowed before a child bearing Eli's face.

A shattered world reassembled at the boy's command.

Then darkness swallowed it all.

Nora rushed forward. "Eli!"

Zuri held her back. "No—wait. Look at his eyes."

Eli's eyes, once a soft hazel, now burned silver. He blinked slowly, as if waking from a dream too vast for words.

"I remember now," he said softly. "Who I am. Who they want me to be."

Zuri's expression darkened. "Who?"

Eli turned to them. "The Dominion. They're not just hunting me because of Victor. I'm not just a Kane. I'm something older. Something they failed to destroy once."

Location: Kane Tower – War Room

Victor's command center buzzed with activity. Shadow Aegis units relayed live combat stats as the Dominion forces pressed harder on all sides.

"Multiple breaches reported on Levels 7 through 12!" Peter Musyoki shouted. "They're in the tower!"

Victor clenched his jaw. "Evacuate all civilians. Begin lockdown protocol Phase Omega."

"But Victor—" Linda's voice crackled over the comms. "What about you?"

He stared at the main screen—footage showed Dominion agents cloaked in void-tech infiltrating hallways. "I'm not leaving. Not until this ends."

Location: Dominion Warship – Inner Sanctum

General Varnak stood before a vast obsidian mirror. In its reflection, his face twisted—half his true self, half a monstrous entity.

A voice spoke from the mirror.

"He awakens… the child you once feared. The cycle repeats, Varnak. You cannot contain the flame."

Varnak snarled. "I won't contain it. I'll extinguish it. This time—permanently."

The voice laughed, low and cold. "You never learn."

Location: Kane Tower – Sub-Level 5

The sealed chamber walls pulsed as ancient energy resonated with Eli. He stepped away from the glowing runes and faced Nora and Zuri.

"You both have always protected me," he said, his voice clearer, firmer than ever before. "But now, it's time I protect you."

Before either could respond, the chamber doors slammed shut.

"Eli!"

But he was already gone.

---

Location: Tower Roof – Three Minutes Later

As Dominion drop-ships swarmed above, a new figure appeared on the rooftop.

A boy.

Hair windswept, eyes burning silver, surrounded by a flickering aura that seemed to distort time itself.

Eli Kane raised one hand to the sky.

The clouds parted.

And lightning obeyed.
